What is/are your footy resolution(s) for 2022?
-
20 consecutive years this year coming.
Dying to get my 7yo step son to a game but unfavourable fixtures (night games, ugh...) and COVID have until now foiled all my plans.
-
To swear at opposition players as much as I can and to abuse the umps ad much as I can using the filthiest demeaning language I can muster.
-
To not get as angry watching the footy, just need to enjoy it.
-
Stop reading about covid cases in the media

Every AFL club’s New Year’s resolutions
RICHMOND (men)
A clean run of health
Staying injury free is clearly key for all teams, but the Tigers will be particularly wishful of it in 2022. While Richmond didn’t have the same spark last season as it did in its premiership years, injuries clearly played a key role into it tumbling out of the finals. The likes of Dustin Martin, Trent Cotchin, Dion Prestia, Shane Edwards, Noah Balta, Nathan Broad, Ivan Soldo and Toby Nankervis all missed significant time in a key blow to the Tigers’ campaign. Maybe it was simply their turn after a relatively good run from 2017 to 2020, but they’ll be hoping for better fortunes next season to bounce back and contend for the flag yet again. Damien Hardwick’s list is still oozing with talent, and while it’ll also need improvement from the youngsters, staying healthy will be pivotal, particularly with the star veterans getting on in age.

RICHMOND (women)
It was a much-improved 2021 for Richmond under new coach Ryan Ferguson, but the Tigers still had moments of madness and messiness. With a fairly gentle draw as it stands, they've got the opportunity to improve on 2021's 10th placing. The real challenge will come against more senior sides – resolving to be calmer, sticking to structures and playing with composure when facing disciplined teams will help.

To simply get to footy and sit where our sits are rather than being scattered around the MCG
And to get to chose which games to go to

For the Tigers to win every game in the season and the flag by a country mile and for essendrug to finish dead last.
Actually if essendrug finish dead last that will do.

1. Getting to as many live games as possible so I'm not swearing at the TV every week about the umpiring and disturbing the neighbours ;D.
2. To continue to despise the stupid stand rule :thumbsdown until it's abolished.

DAMIEN HARDWICK (Richmond)
Must give Alan Joyce a call to find out what he did with Hawthorn in 1991. He squeezed out one more flag with that lot before they really did become too old and too slow.

Richmond Tigers: win another flag
Every side should be aiming to win the flag at the start of the year regardless of how unlikely it may seem, but for the Tigers the drive is a little more urgent. Their key forwards are rapidly approaching the twilights of their careers, while Dustin Martin has the unfortunate loss of his father to deal with.
The Tigers jealously guarded their bevy of picks with the intention of contending immediately, so their new year’s resolution can only be to win another flag before they reach the inevitable cliff.
