Could come up with all sorts of excuses or reasons but the bottom line is he has not done enough to force others out of where he needs to play.
If honest to date you can only say hes been ordinary. He needs to take a big step but weather he has the talent to do so continues to be the question.

Looking at these stats is a little misleading as he has been played on ball and back pocket, I guess this year is his time to step into a Cotchin, Lambert Sort of role?

I thought he was starting to look promising again towards the end of the year.

If he's got, strong and allowed to play inside I expect that he will be a serviceable player.

Give a go playing in his best position as a inside midfielder - do it for a solid month or two and let’s see what he can do.
He’s been playing out of position most of his career at the club making it difficult to judge.

They have not gone out and drafted mids per say. They must think we have them coming thru. the next season or two will tell the tale.

So far hes been lets say okay and he looks like just an okay player we can say the same about a few others so far as well.
Lets hope they can improve because if they dont we will be in a world of pain.

Mate no matter what we will be in a world of pain when you loose stars like Cotch  , Jack , Edwards , Martin etc if you think your going to replace those players your dreaming there once in life time. We don't have the picks like the dees and blues have by tanking to.

I'll wait till the intra-club and preseason games before pumping him up but Ross' preseason has been decent so far. Much better signs from him as he's been working on his kicks inside F50 as well. It helps when he is back positioned in the guts which he is more suited to. He's definitely not a half-back nor wingman.

If Ross cements his place in our starting 22 and steps up as a ballwinning mid in our midfield rotation to take the workload off our older stars then that will be a good 2022 for him.

Whether it’s Ross, RCD, Will Martyn, Bolton, Dow or even Stack, our success this year relies pretty heavily on a couple of them really stepping up in the midfield this year.

Spot on 100% they need to step up.
