7news tonight confirmed Lynch will play a half tomorrow.
-
Great pass by Jack to Bolts. But he misses one he should have kicked from 25 :P.
1 - 6
Main thing today is no injuries touchwood :pray.
-
Miller on Hawkins and Gibcus on Cameron. So we're trialing the cubs.
-
No defence so far on defensive transition. Geelong players running/leading into open space.
Gibcus and Miller swapping down back.
We're playing 3 talls up forward - Lynch, Jack and Balta. Jack playing high forward across the 50.
Jack another great pass from HF to Lynch who takes a good mark in the pocket. Goes back to Nank in the corridor. Nank goals :gotigers.
Rich 1.1-7
Geel 1.2-8
-
Dusty didn't go into that ground ball contest just before. Waited for the Geelong player to grab it then tackled.
We're rotating our key defenders. Tarrant now on.
We're working well looking for inside 50 targets. Short to Kmac in the pocket. Misses.
8 - 8
-
Surge footy from HB to inside 50.
What kick was that George? :huh3. Have a shot from there or hit a teammate :scream. Cost what should been a goal.
-
Better defence upfield. Force the turnover. Prestia to Lynch who has his arms chopped. Goal! :gotigers
Rich 2.2-14
Geel 1.2-8
Ralphsmith at HB.
Ross and Dow in the middle.
-
Surge footy from HB to inside 50.
What kick was that George? :huh3. Have a shot from there or hit a teammate :scream. Cost what should been a goal.
He'll never learn
-
So you can tackle and land in a player's back can you ump? ::)
Doesn't matter. Bolts finds Lynch. Goal! :gotigers
Rich 3.2-20
Geel 1.2-8
Balta in the ruck now. Nice tap forward at ground level to Dow got us the centre clearance.
-
Throw-in 40 out. Bolts to Baker who kicks it and Lynch marks again by the point post. Misses though.
21 - 8
-
Opened up again on defensive transition. Too easy for the Cats to go end from end.
Geelong has missed 3 shots in a row.
21 - 11
ps. Screwed again by the umps. Even the commentators saying that was a howler against us ::).
-
The duckers get a free inside our F50. But Atkins kicks it straight to Soldo 35 out. Goal! :gotigers
Rich 4.3-27
Geel 1.5-11
-
Quarter time (30 min flat quarters today).
Richmond 4.3-27
Geelong 1.6-12
Goals: Lynch 2, Nankervis, Soldo.
-
Opened up again on defensive transition. Too easy for the Cats to go end from end.
Geelong has missed 3 shots in a row.
21 - 11
ps. Screwed again by the umps. Even the commentators saying that was a howler against us ::).
Need to fix defensive transition before r1. We'll get opened up as the season goes on.
-
Forward entries so much better compared to last year. Not just bombing it forward. Skill level (George aside Ramps lol) has been excellent for Feb.
Our forward transitional play has been very good. Back to our famous surge footy.
It's the defensive transition that is an issue. Far too loose. Easy for Geelong to go from D50 to finding a target inside their F50. Still trying to adjust to the stand rule. Lucky the Cats missed so many shots.
Hugo at HB, Ross and Dow in the middle working with Prestia & Dusty have been decent.
Lynch so far telling Robbo to go forth and multiply.
-
Poor handball by Ross at HF. We were out. Turnover gives Geelong a shot at the other end. They miss again.
27 - 13
-
Don't expect anything to change this year with the umps and how they treat us.
-
I know we play that way but there's too many blind trick handballs at the moment. About 3 times we've got to HF we've blindly handballed over our head backwards to Geelong players who just run it forward.
Goal to Geelong (free).
27 - 20
Geelong on top this quarter. Midfield needs to lift.
There's six quarters today btw :o. VFL types in the 5th & 6th quarters.
-
:facepalm.
Kmac and Broad spoil each other in the goalsquare and don't rush/punch it for a behind and the Geelong kicks the goal 1m out :banghead.
27 - 27
-
Umps finally realise we're out there. 50 to us. Out to Kmac on the outer HFF who cleverly kicks on the outside of the right to George 35 out. Misses.
28 - 27
-
Our skills have been sloppy this quarter. Too many straightforward kicks and handballs missed.
We get it forward to Dusty. Long kick and Soldo tackles Stewart to win the HTB free 25 out (Hooray we finally got one!). Goal to Ivan :gotigers.
Rich 5.4-34
Geel 3.9-27
-
Dusty straight out of the centre and hits up Lynch who marks 45 out. Beautiful kick from 50 straight through the i-diddle-diddle :gotigers.
That's 3 to Lynch. Up yours Robbo! ;D
Rich 6.4-40
Geel 3.9-27
-
Lovely tap by Nank to Dow for the centre clearance. Stewart hears footsteps and fumbles. Sheds goals :gotigers.
Rich 7.4-46
Geel 3.9-27
Better from our mids in the last 5 mins.
-
Umps give the Cats a free to give them a centre clearance. Cameron marks in front of Gibcus. Goal to them.
46 - 33
-
Not sure what the free against Dow was for :huh
Cats have gotten away with two dangerous tackles so far. ::)
-
Prestia with the centre clearance but Geelong marks. Again we are burnt on defensive transition. Too much space and 15m off a man. Hawkins beats Tarrant in the 1-on-1.
46 - 39
-
Not sure what the free against Dow was for :huh
Cats have gotten away with two dangerous tackles so far. ::)
Dow free for being a Richmond player ::).
-
LOL. What was that for? You're not allowed to even look at your opponent now ::).
-
Nank taken high in ruck contest, free to Hawkins.
New year, same umpires
-
Geelong player was 5m over the mark and the ump allowed it because we played on ::).
-
Again the Geelong player wasn't on the mark. Stand rule doesn't apply to Geelong ::).
-
Couple of good things from Gibcus late in the quarter
-
4 pts up at half time.
-
Half-time
Richmond 4.3 7.4-46
Geelong/Umps 1.6 5.12-42
Goals: Lynch 3, Soldo 2, Nankervis, Edwards.
-
Negatives:
-D50 transition is horrible. Geelong players everywhere.
-Forwards aren’t high up to the contest.
-No small forwards with forwards and Jack, Lynch doing it all.
-Same old from last year.
-Dusty doesn’t look right.
-Grimes not playing as well?
Positives:
-Dow, nice things.
-Ross, getting around it but poor decisions.
-Ralph, covering the ground well.
-Gibcus, for an 19 year old KD he looks decent.
-Miller, OK.
-Out of Miller and Gibcus for that R1 spot
-Prestia covering the ground well.
-Balta in the ruck is like another midfielder.
-
Ignoring the dodgy umps and their two different rules ::), we were ordinary that quarter. Geelong dominated with the ball mostly in their forward half aside from a 5 min patch when we got our goals. Too sloppy when we had the ball and burnt on the spread on defensive transition.
Our talls are doing well. It's our mids and small forwards that need to lift in the contest and work harder put pressure on Geelong further upfield.
-

Fair enough summary torch. Agree with most of it.
Dusty is protecting himself. Not sure if it's deliberate given it's a preseason match or he is still a bit nervous about copping another knock to that kidney region. There was one groundball contest in the first quarter where Dusty didn't go in and put his body in for a bump and instead waited for the Geelong player to take possession and then tackle him.
-
Don't know who looks more lost - Balta up forward, Aarts down back or our KPD's without Grimes... :shh
-
Surge footy just punching the ball on. Got out the back. Jack across to Sheds to Bakes (not sure why) who kicks a goal :gotigers.
Rich 8.4-52
Geel 5.13-43
-
Goal to Geelong.
52 - 49
Don't know who looks more lost - Balta up forward, Aarts down back or our KPD's without Grimes... :shh
Please no Aarts - back, mid or forward.
-
Dusty with the centre clearance. Finally some forward pressure by our small forwards. Great tackle Jack. Wins the HTB free 40 out. Goal! :gotigers
Rich 9.4-58
Geel 6.13-49
-
Soldo free in the ruck at HF. Kicks to the hot spot. Brilliant by Bolton. In the air, kept his feet and goals :gotigers.
Rich 10.4-64
Geel 6.13-49
-
Poor defending. Ballwatching. Reactive and too loose. A clear chance to win the ball in the backline from Cameron's poor pass but we were asleep :banghead.
64 - 55
-
Since quarter time our decision making and disposal into and inside our F50 has been bloody ordinary.
-
Caddy and Sonsie on.
Goal to Geelong btw. Feeding off our sloppiness.
64 - 61
-
Errant handball by Tarrant in defence then gives away the free :P.
Geelong on top. We can't maintain possession.
64 - 68
-
These long bombs outside D50 ain't working. We just keep kicking it to Stewart and co. Since Lynch has gone off our structure ahead of the ball has broken down unless we can get it over the top and out the back.
Jack has a long ping for a point.
65 - 70
-
Stengle has 4.
Poor defending once again. First hands, fumble and we cough up a goal.
65 - 76
-
Anyone on stengle?
-
Just a praccy game to get miles into the legs, give kids and newbies extended game time and in a way fine tune things
Next week is far more important
;D
-
We can't get our hands on the pill and when we do we cough it up. Getting smashed in the guts and on the outside spread.
-
Bolton miracle goal on the siren. Across his body near the boundary 35 out and it goes through :gotigers.
71 - 77 @ 3/4 time.
-
3/4 time
Richmond 4.3 7.4 11.5-71
Geelong 1.6 5.12 10.17-77
Goals: Lynch 3, Bolton 2, Soldo 2, Riewoldt, Nankervis, Edwards, Baker.
-
Pickett on.
Free to Jack 40 out. Goal! :gotigers
Rich 12.5-77
Geel 10.17-77
-
Tom Brown on too.
Surge footy again. Tapping it on to keep it alive and moving forward. Kmac eventually gathers and chips to Nank. Misses.
78 - 77
-
Our quick defensive kick out of the pack is marked by Geelong and they goal.
78 - 83
-
Better control of the ball as we moved from defence to the forward line. Ends up with Caddy 20 out directly in front. Goal! :gotigers
Rich 13.6-84
Geel 11.19-85
-
Soldo takes a run and bounce lol
-
Bolton brilliant pass from the wing to Pickett at HF. Off to Dusty who hits up George. Goal! :gotigers
Rich 14.6-90
Geel 11.19-85
-
Stuffed up last two forward entries being too unselfish or too cute.
-
Jack to George who chips to Aarts 45 out. Misses.
91 - 85
-
Another Geelong choke :lol
Dads army running out of legs
-
Geelong mistake in our forward line. Caddy gets a hand in, off to Bolts who goals :gotigers.
Rich 15.7-97
Geel 11.19-85
-
From the F50 ball up - Soldo taps to Sheds who chips to George who takes a courageous mark 30 out. Goal!
Rich 16.7-103
Geel 11.19-85
-
LOL. Bolts lucky (may have just got a hand to that handball). Then we get the HTB to George.
But he misses from 25 out :P.
104 - 86
-
Geelong go coast to coast.
104 - 92
-
Nice mark there by Brown.
-
What about advantage, ump? You penalised us ::).
-
Classy again from Brown.
Baker snaps a goal on the siren.
110 - 92 after 4 quarters.
-
End of 4 quarters:
Richmond 4.3 7.4 11.5 17.8-110
Geelong 1.6 5.12 10.17 12.20-92
Goals: Lynch 3, Bolton 3, Castagna 2, Baker 2, Soldo 2, Riewoldt 2, Nankervis, Edwards, Caddy.
Looks the end for most of the senior players. Both sides shaking hands.
5th and 6th quarters for the cubs and VFL players by the sound of it.
-
Very good 1st and 4th quarters.
Sloppy 2nd and 3rd quarters. We wouldn't want to give up 32 scoring shots to the opposition in the real stuff.
Touchwood everyone (senior players) got through okay. Bolts was a bit ginger at the end there. Copped a knock to his shin by the look of it.
-
Scores continuous despite the VFL like teams.
Ryan, Sonsie, Martyn in the middle.
Very scrappy.
Not sure what Ryan was doing there in defence :huh. Goal to Geelong.
110 - 98
-
Biggie gives away 50 for "time-wasting". Another goal to Geelong.
110 - 104
-
Standard has dropped a few levels :lol
-
Caddy and Pickett still on as far as senior players.
Stack on as well.
Sonsie snap on the outside of the right from 40 out hits the post.
We get it back from the kick-in. Nathan has a ping and misses as well.
Followed by a rushed point. So that's 3 points in a row.
113 - 104
-
Standard has dropped a few levels :lol
:lol
Yep, just a smidge .
-
Maurice Jnr out there too.
Brown to Street (one of our VFLers). Nice long bomb from 55 goes through :gotigers.
Rich 18.11-119
Geel 14.20-104
-
Judd Clarke and Cumberland playing too. Awful shank of a kick by Noah too just before.
Rushed point to us.
120 - 104
-
Geelong goal (free for too high).
120 - 110
-
Sonsie 1-2 with Caddy out of the middle but he misses on the run from 45.
121 - 110
-
Jorgenson free 30 out. Misses.
Each side goes coast to coast. Geelong for a point while Cumberland gets on the end of it for a goal (tap in from 1m out) :gotigers.
Rich 19.14-128
Geel 15.22-112
-
Geelong get one back.
128 - 118
-
Good tackle by Maurice on the wing gets the turnover. Chips to Stack which ends up with Hicks but his snap from deep in the pocket misses.
Geelong go coast to coast for a goal.
129 - 124
-
One of VFL players turns it over at HF. Martyn a good smother at HB but the Cats still end up with it and Biggie is caught too far behind his forward opponent gives away a free. Another goal to Geelong.
129 - 130
-
Ump doesn't blow the whistle until after Pickett handballs it then pings him for HTB :facepalm.
Pickett then gives away 50.
Another free to Geelong but they miss.
129 - 132
-
Poor defending. From a high ball allowed a Geelong forward to mark on the line(between goal and point posts) right on the siren :facepalm.
Thankfully they miss.
129 - 132 @ End of "5th" quarter.
-
How did Samson Ryan get an AFL game!
-
End of "5th" quarter
Richmond 19.15-129
Geelong 18.24-132
Goals [this qtr]: Cumberland, Street.
As wayne said the standard has dropped just a tiny bit :P :help.
-
How did Samson Ryan get an AFL game!
He's sadly been awful since he was thrown to the wolves in that St Kilda game. Looks to have shattered any confidence he had. He's gone backwards dramatically. Even during this preseason training he has been struggling.
-
LOL right on cue Samson Ryan actually takes a good contested mark 40 out and goals :gotigers from Caddy's kick inside 50.
I'll shut up now .
Rich 20.15-135
Geel 18.24-132
-
Got club trainers doing the umpiring.
HTB against us? :huh
Clear out of bounds not called.
-
This quarter has been kick ball to teammate's feet then that teammate gets caught HTB trying to fend off.
-
Finally we don't make a basic skill error on transition from D50. Ends up with Cook who goals on the run :gotigers.
Rich 21.15-141
Geel 18.26-134
-
Mistackle on wing then Biggie nor one of VFL-listers can't get the spoil in the marking contest. Goal to Geelong.
141 - 140
10 mins to go.
-
Martyn free out of the centre. Kicks to Ryan 60 out at CHF. Goes long and off hands for a rushed behind.
142 - 140
-
Don't expect from our VFL side this year. Talk about dumb mistakes :help.
Had the ball in our forward half for the past 5 minutes but couldn't hit a target by hand or foot inside 50 to save us.
Geelong then run it up and goal :facepalm.
142 - 147
-
Only watched P6.
Gee that was ugly.
Pickett looked OK. I reckon Stack will be delisted at the end of the year.
-
Final Score
Richmond 21.16-142
Geelong 20.27-147
Goals [5th & 6th qtrs]: Cumberland, Ryan, Street, Cook.
-
LMAO @ people writing off players based on a six "period" practice match where everyone's just trying to get a run into their legs without getting injured and in the the last two "quarters" the magoos filled in, the opposition trainers were the field umpires and one of our assistant coaches was a goal umpire.... :shh
-
Brown (very good skills and poise) and Sonsie showed a bit.
Pickett was solid on a wing.
Martyn and Caddy were ok.
The rest were ordinary.
Miller clearly ahead of Biggie in the KPD pecking order after today.
Stack and Maurice both disappointing. Need to do the bread and butter stuff properly first.
Can't see Cumberland surviving the cut at the end of the season.
Judd Clarke hardly sighted but he's a first yearer in his first hitout so obviously give him time.
Ryan had one nice ruck tap to advantage as well as good contested mark and goal in the space of two minutes but all up was pretty meh!
It's going to be a looooonnnnnnggggg year for our VFL side when looking at our VFL-listed players too.

Match reports of First 4 quarters with all the AFL players ...
Positives for Tigers in practice match outing
Dustin Martin and Ivan Soldo made successful returns from injury as a hungry Richmond ran away from Geelong in an entertaining practice match.

Richmond: Lynch 3, Bolton 3, Soldo 2, Castagna 2, Riewoldt 2, Baker 2, Nankervis, Edwards, Caddy
--------------------------------------------------------
DUSTIN Martin and Ivan Soldo made successful returns from injury as a hungry Richmond ran away from Geelong in an entertaining practice match at GMHBA Stadium on Saturday.
Although the Tigers led 17.8 (110) to 12.20 (92) after four quarters before VFL players and several draftees took to the field, Cats fans also had plenty to be pleased with from the hitout.
Tyson Stengle was magnificent in his first game for Geelong and could have just solved its small forward riddle for coach Chris Scott.
After previous stints at Richmond and Adelaide before arriving at the Cattery in November as a delisted free agent, Stengle put on a masterclass to kick four goals and have a hand in plenty of other scoring chains.
The 23-year-old roamed up the ground to take marks, used precise kicking into the forward 50 and was then a handful when within range of goal.
Dustin Martin got through all four quarters, mostly onball, to complete his first serious hitout since suffering a kidney injury that wiped away the end of his 2021 season.
He was energetic, highly involved, and despite the odd mistake, showed his class in laying on a couple of goals with pinpoint kicks.
Ivan Soldo also got through after almost 18 months out with knee injuries, kicking two goals as a permanent forward.
Shai Bolton was fantastic for the Tigers, while Tom Lynch kicked three goals in a half of action before he was rested.
Tom Hawkins looked as good as ever with four goals, while Tom Stewart controlled the defensive 50 for Geelong.
After an additional two quarters were played, largely with VFL players, Geelong scraped home by five points, 20.27 (147) to 21.16 (142).
YOUNG GUNS
Geelong would be stoked with what it saw from Max Holmes. After 12 games in his debut season, Holmes was moved into the midfield and made a great fist of his chance, adding speed and defensive pressure around the contest, as well as some pinpoint kicking. The Tigers had plenty of young faces who impressed. Thomson Dow racked up plenty of disposals in his inside midfield role, Hugo Ralphsmith was aggressive at half-back and gathered a number of contested possessions, while No.9 draft pick Josh Gibcus hauled in a few intercept marks against the potent Cats forwards and became more involved as the match wore on.
SWITCHING POSITIONS
Aside from Max Holmes' successful switch to the midfield, Brad Close also played notably higher up the ground, spending time on the wing left vacant by the absent Mitch Duncan. Close was a good connector between the midfield and forwards and hurried his Richmond opponents with excellent pressure. He split his time forward as well. Joel Selwood, as he began to do last season, spent more time on the wing and half-forward than he did around the contest.
INJURY WATCH
Thankfully both teams appeared to get through unscathed. Kamdyn McIntosh tweaked his ankle early in the match after landing underneath Jeremy Cameron, but he returned to roar up and down the wing for four quarters. Shai Bolton landed awkwardly after a marking attempt in the final minutes, but hobbled off and was quickly back into a jog.
FANTASY TEMPTERS
Tom Stewart (DEF, $812,000) has been as reliable as any defender since he entered the AFL in 2017, and this season looks like being no different. Stewart was central to most things Geelong generated from its back half, gathering plenty of disposals and hauling in a stack of marks. He looked every bit as good as any stage of his career.

Tigers stars return as Stengle shows promise in debut for Cats
Peter Ryan
The Age
February 26, 2022 — 3.55pm
Richmond defeated an inaccurate Geelong in the first four quarters of their practice match at GMHBA Stadium as Tom Lynch and Dustin Martin made successful returns from minor niggles and the Cats’ Tyson Stengle showed he will be a valuable acquisition with four goals.
Cats defender Tom Stewart also made a successful return in his first match back from the foot injury that kept him sidelined during last year’s finals series, showing he had lost none of his dash or spring as he cleaned up in defence.
The Cats had seven more scoring shots than Richmond but lost by 18 points before both teams shook hands, with the senior group replaced by each club’s VFL line-ups for two more 30-minute periods of play.
Shai Bolton was outstanding for the Tigers, while Jeremy Cameron and Tom Hawkins showed they will once again be a dangerous combination inside 50. It was a good test for Tigers defenders Robbie Tarrant and Josh Gibcus, with Tarrant battling at times as he eases his way into a new system after crossing from North Melbourne.
Martin was good when near the action, feeding off Tigers co-captain Toby Nankervis and Ivan Soldo who gave Rhys Stanley a workout in the ruck.
Patrick Dangerfield was quiet as he tuned up for another season in familiar fashion with the Cats exposing Max Holmes and Shaun Higgins in the centre with Mitch Duncan and Sam Menegola missing and Joel Selwood starting forward on occasions.
Sam De Koning is going to get first crack in defence for Geelong, while Hugo Ralphsmith is performing well across half-back in a sign he will play there in round one. Sydney Stack played in the VFL and Marlion Pickett played one quarter in the AFL match before continuing on in the VFL.
Richmond were penalised at one stage for dissent after claiming a kick for goal by Jed Bews had been touched with either Jack Riewoldt or Nathan Broad the culprit. It shapes as an interesting factor this season as the AFL cracks down on players disputing decisions in a demonstrative manner.
The only injury concern came in the VFL match when Cooper Stephens left the ground to have his ankle – which gave him trouble in 2021 – assessed. Stephens had shown a fondness for the contest in the final quarter of the AFL match, with one stoppage clearance exceptional.
THE NEW KIDS
Gibcus looks poised to play in round one after getting the job on Cameron. Cameron had his measure but Gibcus would have benefitted from the experience and showed how his clean hands and leap will be an asset. Geelong are also blooding De Koning in defence, with the youngster battling against Tom Lynch. De Koning is athletic and big enough to hold down a key position so should be given time to develop. Both sides played youngsters after three-quarter time in the main match, with Shannon Neale’s high leaping a standout for Geelong and Tom Brown showing ability for the Tigers.
THE COACH’S BOX
Selwood is starting across half-forward before drifting into the midfield while the Cats expose more players in the middle. Dangerfield spent time forward without having a major impact, with the Cats’ structure familiar. Richmond’s Ralphsmith will replace Bachar Houli across half-back and although he plays in a different fashion to Houli he will get first crack in the role. The Tigers have pushed Noah Balta forward where he will take time to find consistency but will be a threatening presence as he develops. Soldo is also a handy addition in the ruck to work in tandem with Nankervis, meaning Pickett can avoid being required for hit-outs.
WHO STOOD OUT
Stengle was the most dynamic Cat on the ground in the first three stanzas, kicking four goals and being a lively presence as a small forward inside 50. At the feet of Hawkins and Cameron he will need to make the most of his opportunities but the former Tiger and Crow looks an excellent addition. Higgins also shone early in the midfield after a frustrating first season at the Cats in 2021, while Zach Guthrie is ready to cement a spot in defence. Richmond’s Tom Lynch has recovered from his hamstring injury and played well as did Martin, who enjoyed the blow-out after missing the end of last season. Bolton was among the Tigers’ best.
WHO’S MISSING
Mitch Duncan remains doubtful for round one as he battles a calf injury, while Jack Henry, Sam Menegola and Jonathon Ceglar are yet to appear this season for the Cats, but they remain chances to be available for selection against the Suns. The Tigers rested Trent Cotchin, Dan Rioli and Dylan Grimes, while Jack Graham (hamstring) is in doubt and Kane Lambert (hip) won’t be ready for round one.
WHAT’S NEXT
Saturday, March 5: Hawthorn v Richmond, Devonport Oval 1.10pm
Monday, March 7: Gold Coast v Geelong, Metricon Stadium 6.40pm

Was Miller alot better then Biggie ?.
Ryan seems like his got talent needs to get involved more.
Stack looked good preseason don't know what's happen.
Any of the other kids look good ?
RCD didn't play.
-
That John Jorgenson impressed me from the vfl side.
29/11/1999, 198cm, 94kg, key forward
A developing key forward from Bundoora.

The fact that stack only played in the ‘vfl’ quarters is quite telling in terms of his pecking order in the list.
-
Didn’t watch as I don’t have kayo but if the comments on this thread are accurate and we were getting killed on the defensive transition then that’s a worrying sign practice match or not. That and our horrible forward 50 entries were where we dropped off significantly last season so would have been hoping to see a bit more control immediately after losing possession. You’re rarely gonna win a game conceding 32 shots at goal. Still work to be done I guess, main thing is no serious injuries out of the game.
-
It was a 6 quarter game, with all the vfl players playing the last 2 quarter, the real drop was then
-
The first 4 qtrs was with our list players we did well last 2 qtrs was with our vfl team and kids.

I like Tom Brown's game, thought Gibcus showed a bit, Sonsie seems to know how to get involved when in the middle. Good signs. Miller is way infront of Biggie. A few of our youngsters will be alright.
I think the likes of Cumberland, Aartz, Ryan, Martyn, Parker who I didnt see at all maybe in trouble at the end of the year. 1 or 2 may survive because of some retirements but Im not expecting much from them.
We definately have to tighten up in terms of our defensive game. Geelong scored way too easily too often for my liking.

Yep. Concerns! Struggling to lock it in our F50, out numbered in F50, to much relied on Jack and Lynch to do again up the ground, dump kicks from D50 and into F50, transition D50 was a walk in the park for Geelong, don’t get why we don’t go man-on-man? Geelong should’ve been in front. Can’t allow that. Game plan looks to be the same as 2021.
-
Havent heard much about Jack Rodd. To those who watched how did he play?

I won’t poo on the bloke after a game, but that doesn’t sound great at all.
Hopefully dimma keeping him on his toes.
His career to date has been very disappointing.
-
As I said I only watched P6 and I thought stack was terrible. I'd delist him at end of year.
Pickett looked a class above, clearly too good for Magoo's.
-
Why would you delist him ? He was sublime at times when he came back into the side last year. So skilled, versatile and tough.
Think it all comes down to his maturity and work ethic. If it's not sinking in for him at Richmond by years end then potentially it's time to go but it's a bit stuffing early I reckon

Lmao @ career assessments of kids based on one hit & giggle praccy match... :shh
-
Great learning opportunity for Gibcus playing on one of the best mobile forwards in the comp. Although he was well beaten, he was involved and showed some great signs. I was very pleased with Miller and what he produced- can step up and hold his own no problems.
It was good to get the miles in the legs and of course beat these flogs.

Not making career assedsments just noting some of the skills some bring to the table. In the end someone can have all the skills in the world (syd stack) for example but if he doesnt work he will pee up the wall. Or you can be a Dylan Grimes get rookied work your arse off and become a star and get to captain one of the most famous and storied football clubs in the land. Theres plenty of water to go under the bridge for all our kids, lets hope they work hard and develop themselves to their fullest ability.
