Aside from Cordner, it's arguably close to our best side since round 1. A lot better looking spine with Wakefield back. Brennan won't have 3 defenders hanging off her.
-
We've kicked the first 4 goals of the game.
Make that 5 with Lavey bouncing one through on the siren :gotigers.

Our best 1/4 qtr apparently and the highest scoring 1/4 qtr by anyone this year.
4 goals off turnovers.
-
Brancatisano has her legs taken out = no free.
Wakefield takes mark (ball was stationary then punched away) = not paid.
32 - 8
-
Amazing what long direct accurate kicking to tall marking targets does.
Sansonetti HB to Makur Chuot HF to Brennan. Katie misses though.
33 - 8

We've been falling down across HF this 2nd qtr. Giants rebounding.
Another GWS goal.

McKenzie looks shot
-
Bernardi good mark on 50. Then gets paid 50m which brings her to the goal-line. Goal! :gotigers
Rich 6.3-39
GWS 2.2-14
-
McKenzie looks shot
Ferguson said after the game last week she's banged up. So playing sore.
-
Better transition from defence starting with Miller on the last line of defence.
Good forward pressure. Tackle after tackle. Brennan wins the HTB free 20m out directly in front. Goal! :gotigers
Rich 7.3-45
GWS 2.2-14
-
Great chase down tackle by Conti :clapping
Lots of niggle in this game btw.
-
How much are the fines in AFLW? The AFL will look at that Melee. Yassir was claiming her hair was pulled which got her upset and started it.

Richmond 5.2 5.3 7.3-45
GWS 0.1 2.2 2.2-14

The most niggle I've seen in an AFLW game. No surprise there was a melee.

What the hell! How was that a dangerous tackle? She only had hold of her jumper when the Giants player dropped the ball. That was clear HTB! ::)
Ump gifting the Giants a goal :thumbsdown
45 - 20
-
Sucker punch goal to GWS. We broke down at HF and had pushed up too high defensively allowing the Giants to get out the back on the rebound.
45 - 26
6 mins to go.
-
Downfield free to the Giants and goal.
45 - 32
3 mins to go.

Panic footy out there. Tigers not keeping their heads nor structure and roles.
45 - 38
1.12 to go.

We get the centre clearance from a free. Brennan snap from the pocket misses.

GWS 0.1 2.2 2.2 6.2-38

Obviously won it thanks to that first quarter. Needed that buffer as we panicked in the last 6 mins. Conceded 4 goals in the last 10 mins although the first of those was as a result of one of the worst umpiring decisions you'll ever see.

---------------------------------------------------------
RICHMOND has outclassed a plucky Greater Western Sydney at Giants Stadium, with a first-quarter onslaught setting up an eight-point AFLW win.
The visitors sealed a 7.4 (46) to 6.2 (38) win despite the best efforts of GWS veteran Cora Staunton, who kicked three brilliant final-quarter goals as her side ultimately fell short.
The Tigers were totally dominant in the opening term, moving the ball with ease, tackling fiercely and piling on five unanswered goals to record their best-ever first-quarter score.
The Giants could do little to halt the Tigers, with Courtney Wakefield and Maddie Shevlin kicking classy goals from opposite forward pockets and captain Katie Brennan extending her run of scoring at least one goal per game to 15 consecutive matches.
With Meagan Kiely making the most of a free kick in front of goal and Tessa Lavey bouncing through a long-range goal on the quarter-time siren, the game looked all but over at the first break.
But the Giants fought back gallantly and were able to stem the flow in the second quarter, putting the Tigers under pressure with repeat inside 50 entries before Emily Pease broke through for GWS's first goal.
Defender Bríd Stack followed up with a goal of her own, sneaking forward and roving a pack beautifully to keep the Giants in touch.
GWS may have made more of their second-quarter momentum were it not for Richmond defender Rebecca Miller - who cut off a number of forward thrusts with strong intercept marks and timely spoils - and Monique Conti, who finished with 26 disposals in a dominant midfield display.
Richmond stretched the margin beyond 30 points in the third term, courtesy of goals to Christina Bernardi and Katie Brennan, as both teams fought desperately to claim a rare 2022 win.
Four final-quarter Giants goals - three from Staunton and one from Rebecca Privitelli - made sure the Tigers were forced to fight until the final siren.
"We know the Giants love to play a contest game. They didn't quite bring it last week against Carlton, so we knew they'd come back firing," Richmond midfielder Sarah Hosking told Fox Footy at half time.
"That was our aim: match them at the contest, keep fighting for the outside and just make sure we bring the pressure.
The Giants are almost certain to be without star Alyce Parker for their final match of the season, with the gun midfielder suffering a concussion in a head-clash with the Tigers' Sarah Hosking.

Wonder how conditioned most of the girls are, we tend to fade in and out of games a fair bit and when Conti is tagged heavy we have no run.
I know Ellie is playing sore but I have to wonder if her injury is still an issue, she doesnt look to be bending down and has no explosive pace.

Jess Hosking suspended for 2 weeks. Which means the last round plus the first of the next year.

I struggle to see how an accidental head clash in a contest can attract a penalty
-
The penalty is a stuffen disgrace. Its a collision sport. There was no malice or intent in the contact. stuff u Livingstone

I struggle to see how an accidental head clash in a contest can attract a penalty
Sadly, like it is going to be in the men's game this season there is a massive crackdown on head high contact and this grey area called "duty of care"
I don't agree with it as Jess and her opponent only had eyes for the ball
But I am not surprised by it

Jess Hosking and Meagan Kiely have both accepted their charges from the Match Review Officer following Saturday's game against GWS.
