Wouldnt it be the perfect weekend for the AFLW grand final with no mens game on this weekend?
Anyway, they should be playing in winter in my opinion. It's not a summer sport.

These umps :facepalm.
Collingwood player blocks during a 50m should be another 50.
stuff (now at the Pies) run down, tackled and drops the ball = no HTB.
-
Not being clean there cost us. Seymour snaps a point under pressure.
1 - 2
-
Dumb dumb dumb footy. You don't push up and leave your direct opponent behind you free when the opponent with the ball in front of you has a teammate of yours chasing them :facepalm.
Mark on the siren and goal to the Pies.

Would've been a shot on goal too.

Pies lock in finals spot without much Tiger trouble
Sarah Black
womens.afl
12 March 2022
COLLINGWOOD will officially play finals in 2022, locking up sixth spot after comfortably accounting for Richmond by 38 points in the final round of the home and away season.
It closes the door on the Western Bulldogs, who were holding out hope an upset win over Brisbane and a Pies loss would result in an unlikely finals berth.
Collingwood was just a step above Richmond the entire day, with its class by foot particularly on show when entering 50 in the 6.11 (47) to 1.3 (9) victory.
Both sides were missing valuable midfielders – the Pies without Bri Davey and Brit Bonnici, and the Tigers losing Sarah Hosking and Tessa Lavey – but it was the absence of spearhead Katie Brennan that was most keenly felt by Richmond, losing its structure in attack.
Ruby Schleicher, Lauren Butler and Jordy Allen patrolled Collingwood's backline with ease, with Schleicher's run-and-carry an important part of the Pies' win.
Bec Miller and Sarah D'Arcy battled hard in defence, but the weight of inside 50s (40-21) and overall disposals (270-176) proved too much.
Jaimee Lambert had 20 disposals to half-time and finished with 31 and eight tackles, while Mikala Cann was also strong in the middle.
Collingwood key forward Sabrina stuff kicked off the scoring in the third half with a classy snap against her former side, while the lively Emelia Yassir broke through for the Tigers' first and only major about 10 minutes later.
Christina Bernardi's day finished in the third term with what appears to be a serious left knee injury.

Ryan Ferguson post-match: https://www.richmondfc.com.au/video/1076742/aflw-r10-ferguson-post-match
"I thought we wanted to fight, we wanted to work, and that was outstanding, to be honest, but we were outclassed. Even with what we had out there, we didn't take our moments. They taught us a lesson in the fundamentals of the game – absorbing pressure, absorbing tackles, we had a lot of holding-the-ball free kicks against us because we coughed the ball up."
"Felt our brand has shone through. Seen patches this season, seen improvement. Not always linear in terms of wins. Get to work to see it more often, more consistency."
"Weigh up the whole season in its entirety. Figure out what we need to target. Four new teams coming in so we want to maintain our list as well. We're not bullet-proof to offers that can't be refused but we feel very confident we have a group that is building and a connected program that gives us a good chance to retain hopefully as many as we can."
Ferguson also spoke about if they AFLW season is moved to the latter part of the year then we'll have a couple of players (those with ACLs) who will miss two seasons in a single year.
-
I haven't watched yesterday's game as I was interstate but...
For a season that promised so much overall 3 wins is a disappointing return
Yes there has been improvement but the losses in the 2nd half of the season have been heavy.
Yes with 4 new teams coming in we need to keep the majority of the list together as the talent pool is going to be further depleted. Which means you may need to hold onto players that otherwise you'd move on simply because what you can replace them with is at lesser than standard
Having said that though, there are some that after seasons must go. Hopefully they get it right. Though TBH knowing who has a big say I'm not at all confident
-
With that many good players out it was always going to be a struggle
Agree with WP that it was a disappointing season.
Let’s hope they delist at least a good handful and find some pace.
And a shout out to those cheating stuffing maggot bottom hole umpires who ensured we never had a chance
-
Umpiring was a stuffen disgrace. How can a professional game still be umpired by morons

Final AFLW ladder:
-
How many of the teams that came into the league at the same time or even after us finished ahead of 11th?
-
How many of the teams that came into the league at the same time or even after us finished ahead of 11th?
Entry dates into the AFLW:
2017: Melb, Dogs, Adel, Bris, Carl, Coll, Freo, GWS.
2019: North, Geel
2020: Rich, Suns, StK, WCE.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AFL_Women%27s#Current_clubs
So the Eight original '2017' clubs fill all but one of the top 9 places and all of the Four '2020' clubs which includes us fill all but one of the bottom 5 places.
It's only the '2019' clubs North and Geelong that have deviated the most from each other. North is now a top 4 side whereas the Cats are a bottom side.
You could also argue that of the original clubs, Carlton, Bulldogs & GWS have slipped off the pace of the other five plus North. There's been a clear top 6 this year then a significant gap to the rest.
-
So looks like tiger than north, the original 8 are still ahead of 6 expansion teams. Puts it into a bit more perspective when us/suns are essentially the best of the rest.
