Lambert not named - anyone know why? Hoping he hasn’t reinjured himself.
Being "managed" it says on the website
Whatever that means
Means he is injured
-
Guess we’ll have to wait and hear dimmas presser after the game.
-
No Soldo?
-
Might mean he has pulled up sore and they don’t want to push their luck, managed.
-
No Soldo?
Toe injury
-
No Soldo?
Toe injury
Yep, in Dimma's presser on Thursday he was asked if we were thinking of bringing in Soldo to team with Nank. Dimma said yes but Soldo was in hospital having an infected toe treated

-
Cheers for doing the updates Ramps :cheers.
Good mark by Ryan on the wing (best game in a lonnnnnng time). To Henderson at HF who goes inside 50 to Johnson. Gets 50. Goal! :gotigers
Rich 7.3-45
Casey 3.2-20
-
Stack good attack at the footy. Stack then high ball is marked by Johnson 30 out. Misses (should have kicked that).
46 - 20
-
Wind is slightly favouring the punt rd end where Melbourne is kicking this quarter.
-
Why is Lambert not playing?
Dont know
Being "managed" this week
Which I think means he is a bit sore
-
Clear breeze by the looks, they kick their 1st goal. Back to 16 points. Need to hold on here. They're dominating general play.
-
Sloppy footy by us this qtr. Run has dried up and we're making basic skill errors when means all the play is in Casey's forward half.
Lucky they are missing their shots.
46 - 31
-
Stiff free. Casey player just buckled at the knees.
46 - 37
-
Yes, we've stopped running completely this quarter. Back to 9 after terrible umpiring in the back call.
-
The boys really struggling with kicking against this wind. It’s not much but deceiving at ground level.
-
Back to 3 points
-
Geez there's some dumb footy out there :facepalm.
Mistackles allowing Casey out.
Kicking short to flat footed teammates under pressure turning it over.
Two Tiger forwards flying for the same ball and spoiling each other (i.e. selfish!).
Back to 3 points.
46 - 43
-
Blow the siren please.
Terrible communication up forward as 2 forwards spoil a certain goal, straight up the other end for a goal.
-
It's amazing how players will run with the wind rather than against it.
Dee's in front by 3, should be more.
-
4.7 to 1.1 that quarter

Half-time

VFL side are like the seniors and give away too many stupid free kicks in the back or too high pressure is our trademark but execution needs to be better.
We got smashed out of the middle especially the second half of that quarter when the dees dominated and used the ball really well.
Our ball use especially coming out of defence was way below standard and our pressure dropped off considerably.
Clarke looks good / Stack is doing ok / Aarts had a quiet quarter and looks to be getting some closer attention in that quarter. Actually all our mids went to sleep half way through that quarter.
-
That was a mark to Samson then the ball was knocked out :huh
Goal to Casey.
46 - 55
-
Why are we trying to play this slow short chip game? It's only playing into Casey's hands.
-
Clearly lack a tall forward or 2.
Youngsters going well though
Clarke looks great, as does Banks.
-
As I type that a horrible error by a Dee defender (dropped a sitter) and we actually get a goal to Lefau :gotigers.
Rich 8.4-52
Casey 8.7-55
-
Im back home now. Seems like weve dropped off.
The Rioli chase just before was amazing.
We need to see Rioli and Clarke together as our two small forwards in the seniors later in the season.
-
That was HTB on our HF line ::).
-
Another 15m pass that misses the target :facepalm.
-
Lachie Street tries too many dinky kicks is my assessment.
That's a shame cause he's got a great leg
-
2 points behind and we look spent physically.
-
Sonsie lifting but he needs his teammates not to have constant brainfades.
54 - 55
-
Sonsie showing a bit of class but needs to find the footy some more.
-
Sonsie looks real good.
Just feel a bit headless chicken like at times. Not real clear pathway to goal.
Pressure been good. Feel like we are banking on counter attack type game.
-
Almost bounced through after the siren.
Down by a point at 3/4 time.
-
Have really lacked the kick in board to the middle of the ground from half back.
Time to take the game on.
Quarter time. 1 point lead to Dee's.
Good game
-
3/4 time
Richmond 6.3 7.4 8.7-55
Casey 3.0 7.7 8.8-56
Goals: Lefau 2, Clarke, Stack, Henderson, Olden, Tucker, Johnson.
-
Have really lacked the kick in board to the middle of the ground from half back.

Quarter time. 1 point lead to Dee's.
Good game
It was on every time but no one was prepared to pull the trigger. Really poor coaching

Clearly lack a tall forward or 2.
Youngsters going well though
Clarke looks great, as does Banks.
Agree both look composed. Clarke likes to take players on.
-
Street bumped in the head on the ground and no free ::)
-
Lefau with the high centering ball and Olden reads it better than anyone else and marks 25 out. Misses :P.
56 - 57
-
That was poor by Maurice on the wing. Ballwatched and waited for a ball that was there to get and it's cost us a goal.
56 - 63
-
Costly miss, goal them. 7 points
-
Number 33 for them has absolutely smashed us today off half back.
-
That was poor by Maurice on the wing. Ballwatched and waited for a ball that was there to get and it's cost us a goal.
56 - 63
I’m not sure why when he’s the fastest on the ground. Very poor effort he would have won it if he attacked it.
-
Fatigue is a factor. 13 points now.
-
You would think with a smaller forward line we'd be more mobile to lead up but our high forwards are always behind and slow to react.
Another goal to Casey on the rebound.
56 - 69
Can't see us coming back. We've only kicked two goals since 1/4 time :P.
-
Feel very sorry for Sampson Ryan
Zero support available most of the time having to ruck the whole game.
-
Needed to recruit a big country ruckman.
-
Game over!
56 - 76
-
20 points now and game over.
They can hold their heads up high, they tried hard but just undermanned and eventually overwhelmed.
Is Mate Colina ever going to play. Who cares if he's no good, just need the extra tall.
-
That sums us up. We finally get a clean centre clearance to 50 and we short pass it straight to a Demon defender :facepalm.
Casey runs it down the other end on the rebound for a goal.
56 - 82
-
We miss another gettable set shot and they go coast to coast from the kick-in :facepalm.
57 - 88
-
We don’t have any key forwards in the VFL.
Nothing to kick to inside 50 except undersized top ups.
Our team development committee have stocked the defence but we haven’t got anything coming through forward of centre.
-
Another gettable set shot missed :banghead. Sorry not doing even the basics is not good enough!
-
Why undersized the vfl team in the ruck and up forward.
-
Aarts with the 50 goals in junk time.
Rich 9.10-64
Casey 13.10-88
-
Final Score
Richmond 6.3 7.4 8.7 9.10-64
Casey 3.0 7.7 8.8 13.10-88

Just 3 goals in the last 3 quarters of footy says it all. Terrible poorly skilled footy after 1/4 time :P.

We miss another gettable set shot and they go coast to coast from the kick-in :facepalm.
57 - 88
Could see a bit of this happening tonight if we aren't switched on.
-
I’m not sure the development of our ball winners and runners can flourish if there’s nothing in the forward line to kick to.
Cumberland is only a mid size and Clarke is a small.
Dees had obviously McDonald and Mitch Brown for their mids to kick to as forward targets.
-
Samson 1 mark. :help
-
Is it time for stack to get in the team. He’s too good for vfl. I know his stats aren’t dominant but I don’t think they need to be. He’s quality
-
Samson Ryan is going to be a bust. Laconic and lazy.
No upside to his game.
Delist. Much better and hungrier talls in the system.
-
We don’t have any key forwards in the VFL.
Nothing to kick to inside 50 except undersized top ups.
Our team development committee have stocked the defence but we haven’t got anything coming through forward of centre.
Lol are you just realising thiS, You know even in the two,s you reap what you sow. The bottom line is all about list management.
Despite three flags i think its something we have been poor at and its probably why i think we will spend a significant time in the wilderness again.

VFL Tigers push Casey, but ultimately fall short
Richmond’s brigade of youth pushed Casey to the brink at Punt Road Oval on Sunday afternoon, but unfortunately fell four goals short.
By Brenton Mann
Richmond Media
24 April 2022 6pm
The gravitas of Anzac Day Eve extends now to VFL level with Richmond and Casey squaring off in a precursor to the pageantry staged across Yarra Park later in the evening at the MCG.
The Tigers encountered their second successive unbeaten side, keen to replicate their performance last week against Carlton, with the scalp of the unblemished Demons firmly in Richmond’s sights.
In a game that had a finals-like flavour, Richmond’s brigade of youth pushed Casey to the brink, but unfortunately fell four goals short of a meritorious win, the final score reading, 9.10 (64) to 13.10 (88).
The Punt Road Oval tenants had an emphasis on setting the tone for the day with their physicality and pressure at the ball and man, delivering on that objective in spades.
Sydney Stack’s transition into a centre-bounce midfielder has been building over the last month of football, and Stack added a significant brick with his four-quarter display.
Stack was virtuous with his work around the contest and finished that off with a snapping goal from a boundary throw-in in the first quarter.
Judson Clarke had earlier got the ball rolling for Richmond with the opening major and is making a habit of kickstarting his side with energy and ability to sniff out a goal.
Clarke had a slight shift in role this week, utilising his pace and foot skills between the arcs and quick-draw hands around the stoppages.
Samson Ryan had a mountainous task in shouldering the majority of the ruck load this week with Ivan Soldo sidelined by his pinky toe.
Ryan rose to and welcomed the challenge of pitting himself against the seasoned Majak Daw, as he’s done on other occasions when faced with similar assignments.
The Demons aerial prowess was an area that Richmond had to curtail and Bigoa Nyuon symbolised that objective with every defiant spoil.
At times it seemed that Nyuon was going to clear the eastern fence and cause traffic chaos such was the power and ferocity behind his spoils.
The Tigers had been able to capitalise on the scoreboard, but when Demon Tom McDonald kicked back-to-back goals halfway through the first quarter, it looked as if Casey was going to get its nose in front.
Richmond met Casey in a pre-season game earlier in the year and on that night, small forward Cam Olden lit-up Casey Fields; in round 5, he had a similar effect just prior to quarter time.
With the Demons making their surge, Olden gobbled up a loose ball inside 50, snapping through over his left shoulder, and then set-up another goal immediately after.
Olden was the penultimate link of the chain as Richmond turned defence into attack, surging the ball down the outer wing by hand and finding Mykelti Lefau with a perfectly-weighted kick inside 50.
Debutant Sam Tucker dribbled through his first goal for the club and the Tigers led by 21 points at the first break.
Richmond wingman Austin Johnson added another major to the Tigers’ account with the first goal of the second quarter, opening up a handy 27-point lead for the home side.
Johnson’s goal sparked the Demons into action though, as they rattled on four goals on the trot, snatching the lead in the shadows of half-time.
The Tigers’ ability to hunt the opposition and turn the ball over remained, but they burnt themselves with ball hand in, which opened the door for Casey.
The intensity exerted by both sides kicked up a gear in the third quarter, as the healthy-sized crowd in attendance sensed the occasion.
As the pressure rose, so did the stocks of silky midfielder, Tyler Sonsie, as the budding Tiger won the ball frequently, and generally disposed of it by hand or foot with usual class.
Sonsie was also steely-eyed in the contest and didn’t mind returning serve with a couple of Casey midfielders.
Lefau soccered through his second goal after the ball floated over a myriad of outstretched fingers and fists, cutting the deficit to three points.
Casey led by just one point at the final change, as the brashness of youth had Richmond buoyant with the scent of another upset in the brisk Autumn air.
The Tigers created scoring opportunities early in the final term but lacked a bit of polish and composure inside 50 to truly capitalise.
Casey snuffed out any hint of a Richmond comeback with a five-goal surged that cemented victory.
Jake Aarts slotted the final goal of the game as the Tigers fought the match out until the end and will grow from the performance.
RICH: 6.3 7.4 8.7 9.10 (64)
CASEY: 3.0 7.6 8.8 13.10 (88)
Goal Kickers:
Richmond: Lefau (2), Aarts, Clarke, Stack, Henderson, Johnson, Olden, Tucker

Bring stack in! Too good for vfl

Saw Stack running repeat sprints after the VFL game - very intense.
This is the best news i have had in weeks. A hungry Stack will be an important inclusion in our 2022 journey.

Richmond VFL coach Steve Morris provides a summary of how the Tigers’ players performed in Sunday's Round 5 match against Casey.
Tyler Sonsie (25 disposals, 17 disposals, five rebound-50s, four marks)
"Had a couple of moments that would really excite Tiger fans. His lateral movement really stood out and his decision-making in traffic is a real strength of his."
Jake Aarts (21 disposals, 10 tackles, four clearances, one goal)
"Had a red-hot crack on the weekend and was superb once again. He continues to hit the contest hard and his 10 tackles highlights his willingness to compete."
Judson Clarke (17 disposals, six inside-50s, five tackles, one goal)
"Had a bit of a different role in the first half playing through the midfield and had a great first half, which was good for his development and flexibility moving forward. He's taking really great steps forward in his development."
Sydney Stack (17 disposals, eight clearances, four tackles, one goal)
"Had an excellent first half. He really impacted when he was up and around the footy and had a classy finish in front of goal."
Samson Ryan (16 disposals, 47 hit-outs, six clearances, four inside-50s)
"It was a great opportunity for him to test himself against a really good ruckman in Majak Daw. Samson had 47 hit-outs and probably just needs to tidy up a couple of technical things that he'll be working on in the coming weeks."
Will Martyn (15 disposals, 10 tackles, four rebound-50s)
"His hunger for the contest cannot be questioned, highlighted by his 10 tackles. He's developing nicely down back and is starting to get more consistently involved in our offence which is a continual focus of his."
Bigoa Nyuon (14 disposals, nine marks, seven rebound-50s)
"He once again had a really solid game. His aerial work was a standout and he took nine marks, including a number of intercept possessions. He's getting involved in our offence, he just needs to tidy up a couple of errors."
Sam Banks (13 disposals, eight marks, four inside-50s)
"He's progressing really nicely, Sam. His run is really noticeable out on the wings and he's a beautiful ball user. A couple of his contests, both in the air and at ground level, also stood out."
Ben Miller (10 disposals, three tackles, two clearances)
"Dropped down from AFL duties the previous week. I would have liked to see a little bit more from Ben. He'll have a real focus on his contest work in the coming weeks, but we know he's got all the attributes and he's a beautiful user of the footy."
Maurice Rioli (seven disposals, four tackles, three inside-50s)
"A quieter game offensively but his impact on the game was still quite high. He had a couple of inspirational defensive efforts that really got us going in the second half."
