Dream Time at the G.
Out:
Balta (hammy)
George
In:
Gibcus
Shedda
Didn't see it but I hear Pickett bumped someone hard but no concussion?
-
Out: Balta, George, Biggy
In: Miller, Sheds, Gibcus
Biggy did a couple nice things. Not ready yet.
MRJ lucky was fumbly and not good offensively at all but atleast you could see the defensive pressure he brought.
-
Dimma said post-game that Biggie will play next week given Balta will miss.
-
Nothing in the Pickett bump other than it was magnificent
-
INS: Gibcus, Edwards
OUTS: Balta, Castagna
-
Wait to see how the 2nds go tomorrow before deciding
-
If Stack fires in the VFL it would be great to see him in for Dreamtime. Believe his enthusiasm would be hugely infectious.
-
I’m dreaming that we see Stack come in for Castagna for dreamtime. :pray
-
Looks like we will be getting a media ravaged bombers this week.
-
With balta out think we need Miller/Tarrant to match up on 2m Peter. All our other defenders giving up a fair bit of height if they were to play on him other than Biggy and reckon he’d get monstered in that contest.
-
Miller on today’s game
-
From our 2nds only Miller deserves a game. Thought he was terrific today.
-

Tarrant is too slow for 2 metre Peter
Has to be Miller

Didn't Hardwick say he was in the mix rather that he would play?

Miller played well today.
-
Miller is good when the ball is on the deck or intercepting. He is woeful one on one deep so not the right match-up for 2MP

We dont have any match up then. 2mp will give Biggie or tarrant a bath.
-
I don't want Tarrant in through.
-
Pickett has unbelievably been offered a week. What a crock of poo.
Officially, the game is dead.

What a stuffen joke the AFL is. Brad Scott, Gilligan, Shocking and Christian are all cancers that need to be cut out of the game.
-
Didn't even get him high, challenge on that.
Were wearing a jumper his family designed next week for Petes sake.
-
Really sucks for Pickett especially given next week being dream time. The player got back up and played out the match. How that got assessed as medium impact is anyones guess. Yes he got taken down for a concussion test but they have to do that for all contact that’s made to the head these days.
On the flip side of that at least Lynch was cleared. Other than kangas and eagles, bombers have the worst defence in the league, tommy should have a field day.

Graham in doubt with a stubbed toe he hurt in the 2nd quarter according to 7news. Graham said it depends on how the toe improves before the main training session on Thursday.
Soldo also had scans today but they didn't say for what.

Here's the 7news report:

"Still early days. A few anti-inflams this morning so it can go down and turnaround. So as long as I get to that main [training] session I'll look forward to playing this weekend." - Jack Graham.

Team tips:
Noah Balta could miss several weeks after sustaining a hamstring issue against Hawthorn, with Josh Gibcus the obvious replacement if he’s free to return from health and safety protocols. It also gives Bigoa Nyuon the chance to retain his spot in the side, or the Tigers could turn to Robbie Tarrant.
Elsewhere, the likes of Jack Ross (21 touches, one goal), Riley Collier-Dawkins (20 touches, six marks, five tackles) and Noah Cumberland (three goals) are candidates to come in for Marlion Pickett if his one-match ban ban is upheldafter strong VFL performances, but surely Damien Hardwick won’t want to mess with the formula too much after the team’s third-straight win.
Maurice Rioli Jr was quiet against Hawthorn with just nine touches, but prior he’d provided a great spark in the Tigers’ forward line and thus likely holds his pot.

Unless injured Tarrant is a certainty to come in imo. Gibcus and Biggie too inexperienced on their own.
Steve Morris all but confirmed Tarrant had been taken off in the VFL game for that reason.
-
I would bring in Tarrant & Stack to replace Balta/Pickett.
Castagna the sub.

Richmond will be without swingman Noah Balta for Saturday night's Dreamtime clash against Essendon after the Tigers tall suffered a hamstring injury in Round 9.
Tigers coach Damien Hardwick confirmed on Tuesday that Balta will miss selection this week due to the ailment, with young defender Josh Gibcus and veteran backman Robbie Tarrant in the frame to replace the key-position Tiger.
Gibcus will return from AFL health and safety protocols on Wednesday and will need to prove his fitness at training later in the week, while Tarrant will be out to show he's fit and firing after being managed whilst battling a hip issue in recent weeks.
The Tigers will also be forced to weigh up the selection of Jack Graham, who remains a "50-50" chance to be named for Round 10 after suffering a foot injury.
Hardwick has confirmed Maurice Rioli Jnr has held his place in the side after a quiet outing against the Hawks last Saturday, with the son-of-a-gun set to feature in his first Dreamtime blockbuster.
The Tigers will also have young defender Rhyan Mansell available after serving his one-game ban, while wingman Marlion Pickett will await his fate for the weekend after appealing his suspension for a bump on Hawthorn's Dylan Moore.

Balta several weeks ?.

Balta several weeks ?.
3 weeks is standard for a hammy these days. So that usually equates to several weeks

Richmond will be without Noah Balta and potentially Jack Graham for Saturday night’s Dreamtime return to the MCG.
Tigers coach Damien Hardwick confirmed Balta (hamstring) would miss this weekend’s clash with Essendon and not return after the club’s round 12 bye in early June.
Balta’s absence is set to open the door for Robbie Tarrant to reclaim his spot, with Hardwick hinting they may give Josh Gibcus (Covid) an extra week to recover despite him exiting health and safety protocols on Wednesday.
Graham (ankle) has shown improvement in recent days but Richmond may also err on the side of caution with him, too, given the short turnaround to its round 11 game against Sydney.
“He’s probably 50-50 at this stage,” Hardwick said of Graham.
He’s moved ahead the last two days. We probably thought he was less likely than more likely, but the last couple of days have been promising.
“But he’s an important player, then we’ve got a six-day break when we move on to Sydney, so it’ll be touch and go.”
But the Tigers will select both Riolis, Daniel and Maurice, in the annual Dreamtime spectacle, which Hardwick described as “exciting”.
“I think anytime you hear the Rioli name, you just get a little bit of a warm glow inside,” he said.
“To see how proud Daniel is of his uncle, in Maurice, is outstanding. Those two just bounce off each other and the Indigenous boys overall have got a real pep in their step this week, as they should.
“It’s a significant event that we’re incredibly privileged to play in, in front of such a huge crowd as well.
“It’s one of the best weeks on the calendar, from our point of view, and we hope it continues to build and grow and we continue to bring Indigenous players to our game.”

So balta and Pickett to miss and probably Graham as well. On top of those forced changes would remove Castagna never to be seen again and would look at playing a mid instead of Soldo. The latter won't happen.

Marlion Pickett is unavailable due to suspension, while Noah Balta has suffered a hamstring injury. The Tigers have options to replace the key back, with Robbie Tarrant rested in the second half of the VFL, and Josh Gibcus a test after a week in health and safety protocols. Thomson Dow (23 disposals, 11 clearances) was one of Richmond's best in the VFL, while Hugo Ralphsmith (22) successfully returned from a rib injury. Jack Graham (toe) is also a test this week.
Verdict: Edwards to return to the 22 as cover for Pickett, with Gibcus to replace Balta. Dow on standby for Graham.

Difficult selection this week. Who stands Peter Wright without Balta there? Can we bring in both Tarrant and Gibcus? Probably not.
Reckon we will go:
Out: Balta, Pickett, possibly Graham
In: Edwards, Tarrant, Dow if Graham out. Dow medisub if not.
That would mean Gibcus misses, which isn't ideal, but I can't see us going with Biggie on Wright without a back-up plan (Tarrant). Don't think Gibcus could take Francis or Wright.
-
Probably wont happen but should, Gibcus for Nyuon every day of the week.
Tarrant will get Wright, Grimes will get Francis leaving Broad and Gibcus/Nyuon for whatever third tall they pick. Would not be surprised if one of Harrison Jones or Phillips comes into their team. Also think Gibcus could play on Francis no worries.
-
Outs: Balta (injured). Castagna (omitted). Pickett (suspended)
Ins: Miller (BOG VFL). Edwards. Parker
*If Graham doesn’t get up RCD comes in or is the sub.
-
Agree, Miller killed it in the 2’s and Edwards got a rest,
-
Out:
Balta
Pickett
In:
Tarrant (need at least one strong body)
Edwards
Castagna medical sub
-
With Graham still in rehab :-\ you'd expect there will be 3 outs this week: Balta (hammy), Marlion (susp.) & Graham (toe).
