Not an assistant coach but Burge leaving.
-
Richmond’s Physical Performance Manager, Peter Burge, will depart the Club at the end of the season to pursue an opportunity at another AFL club.
Burge arrived at Richmond at the conclusion of the 2012 season and has been a key part of three premiership-winning seasons and seven finals campaigns.
The former track and field Olympian has nearly 20 years of AFL industry experience, including previous stints at Hawthorn and St Kilda.
Richmond General Manager- Football Performance, Tim Livingstone thanked Burge for his valued contribution to Richmond across 10-years.
“Peter’s expertise has helped our coaches and entire football program throughout a successful period in our Club’s history," he said.
"He will remain in his role for the rest of this season as we look for a strong final five rounds and beyond. We wish Peter and his family all the best for his next challenge.”
Burge thanked the Club for the faith put into him.
"Richmond is a great place to work and the playing group has been unbelievably supportive throughout my 10 years," he added.
"For my time here to have culminated with some success is something I am very grateful for."

Should be proud of his achievements during his 10 years :clapping
The changes begin :shh

Going back to Hawthorn.
Massive get for Hawthorn…
They’ve landed Richmond High Performance boss Peter Burge, who’s spent 10 years at Punt Road. Ranked among AFL’s best + has three flags to show for it.
The Hawks will part ways with their High Performance boss Luke Boyd at season’s end

Well done Burgey but time for change and a new program for the players. Fresh ideas.
-
Not unhappy there will be a change in our fitness and conditioning area. Since Rob Inness left for Sydney after our last flag we've struggled to run out so many games these past two years :help.
-
Agree Innes was a massive loss. Burge has done a great job wish him well but new ideas and freshness will be a positive.

Wonder if it's worth trying to get Innes back to head up that area?

Yes

Absolutely, he's a gun

Good riddance - he can take a few others with him also. Dimma, McQualter, Teague & Clarke.

Mass exodus. We need the money for Zantuck allegedly . :help

Lol is that even remotely true?

If Zantuck wins it could cost us millions

If Zantuck wins it could cost us millions
Insurance surely.
If he does it opens the door for anything and everything in the 1990s/2000s when relatively little was known about CTE. It seems to have come to public prominence around 2005 from a cursory look at google and wikipedia.
Everyone knows it was a different time back then unfortunately.
It would be strange indeed if it cost us more money for concussion induced CTE dating from 2000-2004 than it cost Essendon to get caught cheating by injecting their players with God knows what in 2012.

That’s why I think Hardwick will eventually end up at Essendon because they don’t care about anyone cheating

The Swans pressure was Tigers 2017 like, Innes has them purring. I wonder if we can get him back?
On the other hand, the Dees lost Burgess and don't look half the team they were last season.

Has there been any info around on Burge's replacement?
Considering its been around a month since AFL & NRL finished, if we were poaching someone they would have announced it.
Maybe promoting from within?

I think we already did an internal one? Some guy who's been with us for 5-10 years
