Title: Sickening injuries
Post by: Moi on May 26, 2006, 09:48:47 PM
Watching Robert Murphy go down with what looks like a knee injury, really makes you feel sick watching stuff like that.
Hate seeing it, no matter who it is.  Just kids, and seeing some of our own go down, you can really sympathise with the player, supporters and club.
Good luck, Robert.  Hope it's not too serious.

Looked lousy, and he's a great little player.
Same with Kossie (sp??) at the Saints - would hate to see his career cut short.  He's had a careerful of injuries and he's only a baby.

Just listening to MMM, they are reporting that Murphy requires a full reco.

Bad luck to him.

Make that 5 knees with Mitch Hahn going down too. How unlucky can one club get!

Poor Justin Kozinski.
For anyone who didn't see it, he was being interviewed on Channel Seven and collapsed/fainted on the spot.
In Epworth at the moment having tests.
But he's had a hell of a lot of head injuries and stuff, hopefully he is okay.

Kosi released from hospital - seems to be okay.
Didn't eat his breakfast they reckon and he fainted.
I don't think so, but hope he is ok

Kosi - how injury prone can one poor guy get.  Before the Game just showed Kosi running straight into the back of the umpire during a ball-up and copped it in the head again and smacked his top teeth into his bottom lip  :P.

Probably 2 weeks or a big fine for contacting an umpire to top it off.

Poor guy :( And I think he is only 24 as well. How unlucky can you get?
I hope he is doing alright.

Kossie is one seriously unlucky fella. When fit and on the park he is heaps better than Riewoldt IMHO

Unbelievably unlucky
Have to be a real mongrel lot the tribunal to put him out after what we've seen over the past week.
Probably the least of his worries at the moment though - just hope he can get back and get healthy again.
Don't often feel sorry for opposition players, but the kid's been to hell and back.

Not sure if he's right to play or he should be playing but Kosi has been selected by the Saints. Good luck to him.

Its confirmed that Max has done his ACL. Its a shame because he is an awesome guy and would have been a very good player. Hopefully he can come back from this ok.

Not as serious as an ACL but I read yesterday that Chris Massie from the Crows has broken his jaw in a pre-season training collision.

Unable to undetake contact training for 6 weeks
Title: Tom Hawkins stress fracture injury
Post by: mightytiges on January 23, 2007, 12:00:24 AM
On the SEN news tonight they said that Tom Hawkins has stress fractures in his fibula and will be on a modified program for about 6-8 weeks. Sounds optimistic if it's a lot like what JON has. JON hasn't done much running let alone train for the whole preseason.
Title: Re: Sickening injuries - Trent Hentschel
Post by: one-eyed on January 31, 2007, 03:37:39 AM
Sounds awful for Trent Hentschel's future as a footballer. Six months on and still waiting for a reco because his knee was so badly damaged :(.

Quote
INJURED Adelaide key forward Trent Hentschel's playing career continues to hang in the balance with a planned knee reconstruction delayed by at least two weeks.

Hentschel, who received career-threatening injuries to his right leg in a tackle from Port Adelaide's Matt Thomas in Showdown XXI in August, visited his surgeon last week expecting to be told he would immediately be admitted for surgery.

But scans have shown his badly-damaged knee, which already has been operated on once to repair bone and ligament damage, had not healed sufficiently for him to have a knee reconstruction.

Doctors will not perform the reconstruction until the rest of his knee is in good shape.

News that Riccuito is in a neck brace and is confined to bed. He was apparently unable to even stand for 60 seconds today and as a precaution they have confined him to his bed and a neck brace used to stabilise his neck and back.

Scary stuff and a sad way for a champion player to end his career if it is this serious  :(.
