Hey Matt & SOS.  We played finals this year.
Lack of intelligence is laughable

He is right about one thing. Balta needs to lift. He is far too inconsistent for mine.

Until I see our pressure game back for 4 quarters I wouldn’t be confident we can make top 4.

Balta came back last pre season unfit. Looked heavy, was heavy. Pinged a hammy, season done. Let’s hope he’s learnt his lesson.

Balta needs to be settled at FB instead of being thrown around.

Agree. Balta isn't a forward. At best he's a pinch hitter for 5 mins. We mucked him around this year trying to turn him into a KPF over last preseason. Keep him in the backline ground and let him settle there as a key defender alongside Tarrant.

MAYBE WE CAN JUST PLAY HIM FWD all year and let him settle there.
Still easily the best option we have to play key fwd outside of JR and TL. Play Noah chf and JR in a sort of Gunston role as a smart third tall.

Have to say again the times i have seen Balta live and in practice he screams out potential key forward.

I'd rather try Miller forward/ruck.

Think Balta struggles forward a lot and is needed down back with consistency.

I hate how we look with a 3 tall forward setup. 2 key forwards with Miller rotating through there as our second ruck works perfectly fine imo. Then you consider the contested marking ability of Bolton which is much closer to a key position player than a small forward and I think the balance is good as is. I mean we were the highest scoring team in the league for a reason.

Agreed. I'm thinking Jack should only play 15ish games this season. Should be rested here and there. Need a transitional year for a guy like Miller.

I used to think so until that shot clock countdown fiasco. I feel like forwards need killer instinct and him being unaware of the situation and also how desperate we just needed a score shows his brain isn’t wired to be a forward. Which isn’t a knock on him. I just see too many parallels with the botched Harry Taylor is a forward experiment

Balta forward is to take a very able CHB and 'convert' him into a very ordinary CHF. Miller has shown a lot more forward and we should be looking to solve this problem next, not create a new vacancy in the backline unnecessarily. Even Gibcus forward provides more than Balta at this stage. Shot his confidence this year trying to make him play up the other end.
