Title: What Retro Tiger gear do you have?
Post by: one-eyed on June 15, 2023, 08:36:24 PM
The Club has made this weekend "Retro Round".

So, what Retro Tiger gear do you have?

And are you going to be wearing any of it to the game on Saturday night?

I still have the Tigers scarf with VFL logos that I wore as a kid to the 1980 GF.

I also have a handmade rosette that Mum made back in the 1950s.

A fair bit but it is all in storage

But tomorrow night I will dust off Ma Powell's old scarf and proudly wear that

An ashtray from 1965 (ironic because I've never smoked)  :)

A scarf from 1974 (it has no VFL badge on it)  But I was lucky enough to get Jim Jess to sign it at a pub in Brisbane after a win a few years ago.  What a great night that was.

I have a guernsey signed by all the team that played in the exhibition match against Essendon at The Oval in London in 2002. We all got to run onto the field at the end and it was a great day. I was 14. Tigers got up by 31 points that day. If I recall, I was really happy to get David Rodan's signature.
