Title: Changes for next week against the Swans?
Post by: one-eyed on June 29, 2023, 10:11:38 PM
What a horrid night.

Short (hammy) is a definite forced out.
Cumberland (ankle) played out the game.

Dusty should be back.
Prestia is a possibility but no certainty.

Fire away with your changes?  :help

In: Dusty, Banks, Bauer

Out: Short (hammy), Cumberland (ankle), Ryan (3 quiet games in a row)

No Hugo again as sub. Rather give Brown a go.

It won't surprise me if Prestia misses more than one game. The club saying their "hopeful" usually means not playing  :-\.

INS: Martin, Banks, Bauer (if fit Prestia but I doubt he will be)

OUTS: Short, Cumberland, Young, Pickett (if Prestia gets up), Hugo (sub)

Whatever people think of him and his limitations, Mini and the MC aren't going to drop Ross after another 20+ disposal game.

I thought Ross was better than most out there , had a dip

History tells us Prestia will miss a month.  That's just what normally happens at Tigerland.
Give Brown, Banks, Sonsie and Bauer a go. Dusty back.
Out Ryan, Pickett, Short, Cumbo, Kmac,

Agree

Though I thought he went back to some bad habits on Thursday

Up until then he's been good

And I see people are saying Kmac should be dropped because of his numbers. He isn't getting dropped because his role (and I know people hate that term) isn't solely about possessions

But whatever

Take a chance bring in Banks, Brown and Brauer. Bring in Rioli and Sonsie. Given Ryan and Cotch a rest. Drop Hugo. Out injured Short and Cumberland.

In assuming they are being honest and Prestia is only the one week.

Prestia - Martin - Banks - Bauer - Nyuon - Sonsie.

Outs are not based on just this week.

Short Inj, Cumberland inj, Ralphsmith horrid, Young out of his depth, Graham horrid and Ryan hit a wall.

Banks for Short
Bauer for Cumberland. just want the taller option.
Martin for Ralphsmith
Prestia for graham
Nyuon for Ryan.
Sonsie for Young with Miller to KPD.

Clearly the we have decided to look to the future which is a great decision long term. Older players that have become complacent from success will take notice..

Hopefully they leave Cumberland in the side.

The Tigers have already confirmed three changes for their Thursday night clash with Sydney. Key-position player Jacob Bauer and winger/half-back Sam Banks will make their debuts after a series of consistently strong performances in the VFL, while Dustin Martin will return after illness.

Banks is likely to swap in for Jayden Short (hamstring). After four disposals against the Lions, it might be Ben Miller making way for Bauer, while as last one in, Noah Cumberland could be the unlucky first one out to allow Martin's return.

Hearing that Dion is fit to play
Yep. McQualter in his presser said Prestia got through training two days ago and at this stage will play, as will Dusty.

Cumberland is fit to play footy this weekend but in saying that Mini didn't specify at what level.

So we have Dusty, Prestia, Bauer and Banks all coming in.

I wouldn't rush Prestia unless he is 100% myself.

Will one of the debutants be the sub?

Shortly out, maybe Ryan given the weather, Ralph and who? Cumberland to sub?

I'm guessing ...

Dusty in for Cumberland
Banks in for Short
Bauer in for Ryan
Prestia in for Hugo.

Clarke possibly the sub if we want to take a tall (eg: Miller or Young) off in the wet and go shorter.
