Always find this matchup the hardest to watch .. never know who to barrack for

Feel the same when we play the Borough - but definitely not when we play Willy... :shh

Geez we do dumb things! Have the ball on the wing and then handball backwards to someone hot. Easy turnover to Willy into an open F50 who goal :facepalm.

Can we mistackle any worse? :facepalm.

Turnovers galore by both sides.
Campbell good tackle and wins the HTB free 30 out. Misses.

Gee I thought we had blokes who looked disinterested last night

That's interesting Damo, about 20 years ago the Willy and Port President's were always at war ;D
-
Not the only one...
Not wrong there
Have to say shocking camera angle for the telecast
-
Miller inside 50 to Bradtke on his own 35 out. Goes the around the body kick rather than the drop punt and misses :facepalm.

How can you miss that. My goodness.

Campbell spoiled and cleaned up his own man Miller on the lead. Not only stuffed up an easy mark and set shot to us but it gifted Willy a goal on the rebound and Miller has had to leave the ground. Keystone cops stuff! :banghead

Hugo runs into a Willy player and turns it over :facepalm.
We get it back. Green to Bradtke who gets pushed in the back but no free. Finally we do get a free to Yassine 35 out. Another miss.
17 - 25

Free to us 45 out and then Samson stupidly gets sucked in and the free is reversed.
Clarke going off with a shoulder.

Is this in slo-mo?
No he was playing last night in the ruck. :shh

OMG this is bad. Biggie drops a sitter 25 out.
Today is "How to stuff up easy goal scoring opportunities" :banghead.

Bradtke nice kick to Bravo on 50. Goes to Brindley in the pocket. Snap misses of course!

Ball-up at HF. Faimalo to Brindley 45 out. Kicks from 55 and it falls short and not a single Tiger reads it and it's an uncontested mark to a Willy defender :banghead.

Williamstown 3.1 5.2-32

We are also two down. Miller (concussion) and Clarke (shoulder) are gone for the game.
-
We should change our name to the fumblers :facepalm.
Have you ever seen a display as bad?
Our AFL side fumbles constantly too. Along with the decline in basic kicking, handballing and marking skills, it's a clear sign of the drop in standards at the Club. When it's tolerated at training in recent years then we shouldn't be surprised when it happens regularly during games each week.

Training drill for Willy out of the middle for another goal. As I said we just don't defend the defensive side of stoppages. Haven't for the last couple of years. That's why we get so easily opened up and give away easy goals.

Our forwards are clueless. Once again not doing the basics like playing in front or at least being proactive and reacting quicker.

So the forwards in the 2s are not making a case to play seniors

Excruciating to watch
Sonsie was good in the 2nd half
No one really put their hand up for the AFL

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Richmond VFL went down to Williamstown by 22-points at DSV Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The Seagulls at home are always a tough proposition, and they showed why, the final score reading, 13.5 (83) to 8.13 (61).
Samson Ryan struck the first blow for Richmond, drifting forward from the ruck, marking strongly and kicked truly to the ‘jumping castle end’.
Williamstown got the home crowd cheering, rattling off the next three goals in quick succession, edging out to a two-goal lead.
James Trezise, Tom Brown and Lachlan Street provided run and rebound from the back-half, although Richmond’s inaccuracy meant it didn’t gain maximum benefit from the good work up the field.
Ben Miller got the Tigers’ second quarter off on the right note, soccering through a goal from close range.
The Tigers kept fighting, with Seth Campbell showcasing his steel and spark around the ball.
Green was the happy recipient of some class work from Austin Johnson and Misilifi Faimalo, with the industrious small forward slotting Richmond’s third major.
The goal shrunk the margin to a solitary point, however, Williamstown hit back instantly, reinstating its seven-point buffer.
Richmond went into the main break eight points down with plenty of room for growth.
Williamstown advanced its lead to 13 points with the opening goal of the third term before Mohammed Yassine’s quickfire right-foot snap brought the Tigers closer.
Williamstown hit back with a duo of majors, extending the deficit to a game-high 20 points.
The Tigers’ boldness in wanting to inject speed into the game and access the corridor led to the Seagulls sweating on turnovers and cashing in on the scoreboard.
Williamstown made the Tigers pay late in the quarter, transitioning the ball from the back-half and nailing a goal after the three-quarter-time siren, pushing its lead past four goals.
The Tigers were the first to strike in the fourth quarter, as Hugo Ralphsmith streamed through the corridor and pierced the Sherrin onto the barrel chest of Kaelan Bradtke.
Bradtke had a tricky set-shot to navigate on a tight angle, from close range, but cooly snapped it through on his left.
Richmond hadn’t been able to kick consecutive goals all day, and that trend continued as the Seagulls answered back with their 10th goal.
The positive for the Tigers was that Bradtke’s sure right-boot launched the ball over the goal umpire’s hat following a slick centre clearance from Tyler Sonsie.
Ralphsmith was deployed forward in the final term and showed is wares, sinking his right slipper into the ball, registering a goal from beyond the arc.
The Tigers fought until the end, but a well structured and drilled Williamstown outfit had the answers all day.

its time for Morris to get the flick. He is hopeless just like when he played for the seniors
what exactly has he developed down there in the last few years. SFA
Move him on.

We're currently half a game outside of the top 10. Our destiny is still in our hands, but we will more than likely need to beat Port Melb (15th) away and Norf (8th) at Punt Rd in the final two rounds to guarantee making the VFL finals.

VFL Report: Round 20
Richmond VFL coach Steve Morris provides a summary of how the Tigers’ players performed in last Saturday's loss to Williamstown at DSV Stadium.
Tyler Sonsie (31 disposals, 13 contested possessions, eight marks, eight clearances, five inside-50s)
"High contested possession and clearance numbers again on the weekend. He probably let himself down by foot with his ball use, but he certainly was able to win the ball for us."
Thomson Dow (24 disposals, 15 contested possessions, seven clearances, seven inside-50s)
"Looked lively in and around the footy and was really important around stoppage for us. He's really working on his transition game and we're seeing great improvement in this week to week."
Tom Brown (18 disposals, eight rebound-50s, seven marks)
"Solid once again. His ball use is second to none in the competition, he makes really good decisions. He had some fantastic aerial contests as well on the day and continues his good form."
James Trezise (17 disposals, five marks, four tackles)
"Was once again really solid in defence. His offensive ball use wasn't up to the standard that we expect from him, but he consistently won the footy back for us on the day."
Hugo Ralphsmith (15 disposals, seven marks, one goal)
"It was a low impact day from Hugo. He struggled to get his running game up and going, but I thought he had a real influence in the last quarter when we needed to get speed into the game and he was able to hit the scoreboard as well as pass one off."
Kaelan Bradtke (12 disposals, three marks, two goals)
"A mixed game. He had four scoring shots, but we'll be putting it on him to continually bring other players into the game, as I felt there was a couple of missed opportunities."
Samson Ryan (six disposals, 18 hit-outs, three clearances, two goals)
"Would have loved for Samson to have a little bit more impact on the game. He looked dangerous in the air but really didn't tear the game apart when I thought it was there for him to do so. But, he had some exciting moments."
Judson Clarke (six disposals, three inside-50s, one clearance)
"He looked really lively early on in the game, and unfortunately suffered a shoulder injury early in the second quarter. A big loss for us and we wish him a speedy recovery."
Seth Campbell (six disposals, four tackles, one mark)
"He also looked lively. He is very raw to our system but is showing genuine promise. He definitely should have kicked one or two goals, and he was on managed minutes once again. His tackle pressure was also a highlight."
Steely Green (six disposals, three marks, one goal)
"Struggled to have the impact that we would have liked, but he was hitting the scoreboard and continued to put pressure on. He had some outstanding defensive efforts."
Bigoa Nyuon (five disposals, two marks, one clearance)
"We all know what he's capable of and what he has shown, tearing games apart up forward, and we're looking forward to seeing him launch at the footy like we know he can next week."
Ben Miller (three disposals, one clearance)
"Made a really promising start, but unfortunately copped a heavy knock in a collision in a marking contest and that was his day done early in the second quarter."

Does Seth Campbell have any potential?
I know nothing about him.
Seems Green is a miss.

Highly rated within the club but been injured most of the year. :shh
Green's another George, just not as ungainly - bust. :shh
Yassine, Lefau & Brindley in that order are all worth a late pick/rookie spot IMO. All three are at least no worse than what we'd likely get with those picks anyway. :shh

Noted. Cheers.
