Seems we got through unscathed.
Cumberland will be available after his concussion.
Fire away your chances for our final game of the season, if any?
-
Nothing game. Wasted season
-
Play the kids.
-
Is this the week Pickett finally gets the chop. Putrid again today
-
So was Ross, Graham and KMac - all putrid

Well forget Sonsie he will get weeks for his stupid hit
So Banks comes in
-
In: Bauer, Trezise, Brown and Banks
Out: Riewoldt, Cotchin, Graham, KMac.
-
Tresize looked meh I thought.
LeFau is a big bodied mid…?
-
Lefau is VFL listed. :shh
-
Lefau is VFL listed. :shh
Yep
-
LeFau May be one to develop and list
-
Agree - Lefau & Yassine both worth a rookie spot. Sellers from Norf VFL to replace Bradtke. Would even use a late draft pick on Sellers. :shh
-
Yep KB a bust. He is too slow.
Do we play kids in AFL or leave them in a VFL final?
-
Vlastuin - Young - Grimes
Rioli - Miller - Brown
Banks - Martin - Broad
Nankervis - Taranto - Bolton
Coulthard - Balta - Cumberland
Bauer - Ryan - Mrj
Baker - Hopper - Short - Dow - Ross
If Young and Miller are getting beaten then you can swap it with Balta and Bauer.
Dont know who the outs are don't care. Just play as many kids as injuries allow us without throwing them completely into the deep end with no help.

Respectfully, who do you suggest?

Banks - Martin - Broad
Nankervis - Taranto - Bolton
Coulthard - Balta - Cumberland

Thats okay by me he has shown a bit in the vfl playing there. so make him a part of rotations like we do with Shai.

Cumberland? Seriously need to move on thinking he will make the grade.
Im giving him another season because i think he is the most likely of the small forwards to kick goals on a regular basis.
Personally don't think he has been given a fair go and think he has shown enough traits to say lets give him one more year.
The other thing he is one of what 5 genuine small fwds we have. two are injured and one has probably been worse in mrj yet im over us picking mids wingers and hbf to play fwd. Its the last game of the year with nothing to lose so just pick kids in their roles including mrj and Cumberland.

Out:
Cotchin
Riewoldt
Pickett
In:
Bauer
Coulthard
Bradtke
MRJ sub

While I agree with this post I think the same logic can be applied to Tom Dow - either way next year is a development year and i would like to see who steps up when given a block of games

What Richmond need to tweak for next week: Play some kids
Andrew Slevison
SEN
22 August 2023
The Tigers will lose both Cotchin and Riewoldt for this weekend’s clash with Port Adelaide.
That’s a lot of experience dropping out of a side that has already lost a chunk of senior players over the last few years.
It’s time to look to a new era, so McQualter must give some youngsters another taste.
Jacob Bauer kicked four in the VFL and must return to the senior side, Sam Banks could also be back while Tom Brown should be considered for his debut.
It would be nice to take Matt Coulthard back to Adelaide as well.
Richmond must look to the future so might as well get some experience into the kids for the final fixture of the season.

Team Tips:
There are at least two easy calls at selection on Thursday evening — Trent Cotchin (retired) and Jack Riewoldt (retired). With effectively nothing to play for it wouldn‘t surprise to see the Tigers trial some new players or new positions against the Power, making things unpredictable. But for a start Matt Coulthard and Jacob Bauer, omitted last week, could return.

In the Mix: Round 24

Both Jack Riewoldt and Trent Cotchin have now retired, leaving two significant holes in the Tiger line-up. For this final round of the season, Jacob Bauer should be in the frame for Riewoldt's spot in the 22, while one of Samson Ryan or Ben Miller could also be considered to play as a pure forward. Tyler Sonsie would have been almost first cab off the rank to come in for Cotchin, but has been handed a three-match suspension at the VFL Tribunal for striking. Rhyan Mansell and Sam Banks have been on the fringe of the AFL team this season and will be considered, while there's one final chance for Tom Brown to make his AFL debut this year. Both Noah Cumberland (concussion) and Matt Coulthard (shoulder) are tests.

I wonder what the excuses will be this week not to play a balanced side with plenty of kids aiming to win.
