Title: Graham, McIntosh & Pickett trigger contract extensions for 2024 (RFC)
Post by: one-eyed on September 15, 2023, 06:20:32 PM
The Club can confirm that dual premiership players Jack Graham, Kamdyn McIntosh and Marlion Pickett will remain at Richmond for the 2024 season, having hit contract trigger extensions for next season.

Graham, 25, played 20 games for Richmond this season, taking his career tally to 117. He won the Francis Bourke Award for best embodying Club values in 2019 and was runner-up in the Jack Dyer Medal in 2021.

McIntosh will enter a 12th season with the Club through the extension and has played 168 matches since being selected from Western Australia with pick No. 31 in the 2012 AFL Draft.

Pickett played a career-high 21 AFL games in 2023 and was used by coaches in various roles, including as a hybrid forward, on the wing, and occasionally as a defensive midfielder.

The extension will see him enter a sixth campaign with the Club.

What so seriously short live in the now not the past that's the problem. Macca and Graham are not best 22 and not consistent have to go past them. As for Pickett he was below par this year maybe off field played a part.

Mistake number one. Graham one good game in 6 and Macca is past it .Pickett is borderline maybe because off field issues. Livingston is a issue for me made some horrible decisions along with Blair.

That is all that needs to be said on these re-signings.

The incoming coach will need to tell him to leave his phone on the bench during games
That will help significantly

Although Fridge can do two things at once (arrive second to the ball and run slow), three is asking too much of a man

Yes we should all just completely ignore the past 3-4 seasons of mediocrity and continue to judge him solely on his first 5 games in 2017 & playing on with a bung shoulder in the 2019 prelim... :shh

Jackson would walk into our current team ahead of plenty of blokes.

Might actually be able to tag an oppo mid for a change haha

His one step dump kick was infamous and unnervingly getting copied by our midfield at times this year

Taken on this year if all three were at another half decent club they would all have been delisted.
At best ordinary/average players yet here we triggers built into their contracts.
We really have started to drink copious amounts of our own bath water.

Trigger or not would pee Graham and McIntosh off for whatever late pick we can get say two third rounder. Pickett at 32 should go as well but he at least has an excuse with the off field dramas.

Fair dinkum if  i could get three third rounders for them and that helped us get a first rounder from a club like the suns who desperately need late picks for their acadamy players id do it quicker than you could blink.

None are great players in fact premierships or not two have been mostly down right ordinary.  none will be around when we start to challenge again.

Seems to me by now keeping them it means Banks and even Brown possibly Smith along with Clarke Sonsie Coulthard will not get games in the roles they perform.

You won’t get anything.
Honestly, it’s the least of our problems.
Agreed they will most likely play 2’s, I held some hope for Fridge being a defensive forward - he’s a lovely kick for goal but he just looked too big to play afl by the second half of the year.
Pickett has looked cooked since those charges were laid.

Your probably right but no harm in trying. Reckon someone would be silly enough to give up a third for Graham.

I hope they're all on cheap money.

Should be in the VFL a fair bit in 2024
