Title: Get rid of the AFL rules committee
Post by: Moi on June 11, 2006, 11:15:43 AM
Sick of them changing the rules every time, and the interpretations of them changing every 5 seconds.
The deliberate out of bounds rule.
Most years, if you kicked it down the ground along the boundary line, it wasn't deemed as deliberate.  Last night they paid a free kick for a thirty metre kick down the line that went out eventually.
Where is a player supposed to go if there are no options other than turning it over.
Drives me insane all these changes.
Why fix something that wasn't broken  :banghead

To ruin the game i reckon.
I don't agree with front on hits like yesterday on Tambo, but there's nothing wrong with a bit of biffo lol
It was great living in the '70s where anything virtually went.
I hate sterile footy - just let the game flow and butt out umps.

Agree Moi. Rawlings charge on Tambo was obviously not on so there's no need to change the rules or interpretations. If a player is leaning over with his head over the ball then he needs to be protected from front on hits. But apart from that it should be play on.
