Who do you reckon is leading our B&F at the halfway mark and what's your top 5?
Here's mine although not very original:
1. Simmonds - If the coach says he's been our best player then he must be number 1. Would be close to second best ruckman/follower in the AFL.
2. Pettifer - in 2 years gone from lost to respectful to key player in the side. We're going to provide plenty of headaches for other sides post 2006 when both Browny and Kayne are going at 100% in the same forward line.
3. Joel Bowden - Ever reliable general in the backline who sets up so many of our attacks and doesn't get the plaudits from opposition fans that he should because the modern uncontested footy role he plays is considered "soft".
4. Raines - Understatement to say most improved. Slotted into a back pocket like a veteran and you've got love when he runs through the lines like his old man.
5. Richo - the big fella would had been in the lead after the first 5-6 rounds but with the wrist and all has slipped back.
Most improved - Raines followed by Tambo.
Best rookie year - Polo
Best clubman - Johnson
-
Richo is also in danger of losing the Michael Roach medal to Kayne Pettifer this year.
-
A case could be made to include Hyde, Tuck & Cogs to round out the top 8.
-
Cogs for sure. Then Simmonds. Pettifer and Bowden also giving him them a run
-
Simmonds and Pettifer would be leading with one J Bowden not far behind
-
My ranking
1 - Joel
2 - Richo
3 - Simmo
4 - Rainsey - might not have starred, but has been fairly consistent
5 - Petts - same as Rainsey
-
1. Simmonds
2. Joel
3. Pettifer
4. Richo
Gets tough after that because most of the team is contributing, which is great. Raines, Hyde and Tuck have been fantastic. The player I've decided on has been in our top 5 or 6, imo, every week bar against the swans.
5. Tivendale
Most improved - Raines
Best rookie year - Polo (no contest)
Best clubman - Richo
-
After seeing the last two games, I would say that the leader board would be
1. JB
2. Simmo
3. Richo
4. Petts
5. Raines
6. Cogs
7. Tuck
8. PB
I think Richo will come back firing after the mid year break. Will he win it? Hope so
