Title: Changes for next week against the Dogs?
Post by: one-eyed on May 05, 2024, 03:48:57 PM
Balta and Prestia in line to return next week. Potentially (although surely unlikely) Graham too if you believe the Club.

Fire away with your changes?  :help

Forget Prestia and Graham.. time for every senior player to be dropped except for Vlaustin Broad Baker D Rioli, Dusty Nank Grimes Kmac Short Pickett all must be dropped.. generation next starts now.
Seth Campbell needs a big spell out of the kids.
But as if the club has the balls to do this
NAISMITH isn't experienced for us, but good bye with no thank you

Out: Campbell and Naismith...

Laughable we played Naismith today. No disrespect, if Nank wasn't fit then sure. But we need game experience into younger players. Playing a backup Ruckman today was a joke honestly.

Prestia should have managed time in the VFL .

Can see him doing his hamstring again in the first quarter if thrown straight back in .

He has to poo standing up, his hammy will snap just by sitting on the toilet

Match committee is not ruthless keep on selecting the same old expecting a different outcome. Our senior players are letting us down. A few of the kids need rotating.

We can’t afford for him to be subbed off early in matches either. He’s just so fragile.

Surely Cumbo comes in now ....he may not be any better but he can't possibly be any worse that what was served up today....his work rate is Cousins-like compared to some of what I saw out there today from a few far more celebrated players and a few others who've been given a helluva lot more opportunities than he has.... :shh

Just curious the need for the last part ?
Maybe you can explain it ?

Seems a good fella .. teammates love him .. trying hard

Wouldn’t it be “thanks for your service and efforts , would you consider staying at the club in a mentoring capacity and being a key cog in our VFL side?”

Or is treating people like pigs (you’ve suggested treated Dusty far worse than he deserves as well) something you think is effective ?

Because it seems to be your M.O.

Maybe it’s a Sicilian thing?

INS: Balta, McAuliffe, Prestia,

OUTS: Naismith, KMac, Short

I'd bring Prestia back through the VFL myself but they won't.

If Balta isn't right to go then I'd go with Ryan but I can't see them bringing in both

Cumberland needs to back his 2nd half from yesterday before he gets the call.

Short, I cannot and will not excuse the inexcusable. There was one "effort" (I'm using that term very loosely) in the 3rd was pathetic, cost us a goal and any chance of getting back in the game. He is one of the VCs he failed to set an example today.

Nothing has changed for me and i have only seen the first half. Its not all about now its very much about better structure biigger bodies and natural players in their natural positions and very much the future.

Clawskis ins
If they are all fit then this has to be the way to go.FFS why are we relying on a 6 game 26 year old new to the game with no support to carry the forward line in Lefau. For gods sake injuries or no injuries you still need to play with structure.
Why do we keep playing fumblers and bumblers and basically non forwards.

for the next 5 weeks given availability the team has to be structured properly with who ever is available..It needs to be structured with as many younger players as possible who are natural players in their roles. Lets see what they have to offer.

No more Tylar young if possible. No more McIntosh Short Graham Dow even MRJ and the list goes on. lets sort the wheat from the chaff.

Okay have settled down a bit, my team this week and no surprise it remains heavily weighted to. youth, good structure, players in their primary  roles  and a good sprinkling of experience to help the kids survive.

Vlastuin - Young - Grimes
Brown - Miller - Trezise.

D Rioli - McAuliffe - Broad
Nankervis - Prestia - Bolton

MRJ - Balta - Coulthard
Ryan - Lefau - Cumberland

Baker - Smith - Martin - Sonsie - Pickett - Short - Ralphsmith.

The Tigers could finally be in for a selection crunch of the best kind, with Noah Balta (knee), Dion Prestia and Jack Graham (both hamstring injuries) all possible returnees. After two weeks as sub (playing a variety of roles, including makeshift key forward), it might be time for Kamdyn McIntosh to make way for one of the returning mids. Sam Banks (13 touches) and Thomson Dow (15) may also be considered omissions for those midfield roles. Sam Naismith should be the straight swap for Balta, unless Adem Yze opts for two rucks and two tall forwards, which may offer the opportunity of a week's rest for youngster and small forward Seth Campbell.

Yep, and bring in Ryan as a forward and see how he goes.

Playing Naismith is bizarre. He should only get a game if Nank is injured. full stop.

In the VFL this year Ryan has kicked 11.3 . Cumberland has kicked 4.13 .

Pick the guy whose confidence isn’t shot .

Pick them both. At least they both get shots on goal and Cumberland's defensive side has supposedly improved

Vfl kids in form reward them. Mansell and Campbell out for Coulthard and Balta. Macca out and Short for McAuliffe and Smith. Naismith out for Ryan. Pestia comes back through the vfl and get match fitness, can't afford to be a player down after a quarter let's see if we learned anything.

I'd rather him than Graham in the side personally.

Previously I'd agree with you

Not now KMac; has lost his speed, his disposal has gone pear shared and he can't lay a tackle to save himself

Graham is one of our better tacklers

McIntosh is pound for pound the worst tackler in the AFL but Graham's been a poor and ineffective tackler for the last few years now....slow and invariably second to the ball so his numbers are inflated but he misses three for every one he sticks.....  :shh
