Poor start. Can't get our hands on the pill and when we do we turn it over.
-
Blight takes a strong defensive mark. We finally are clean on transition and get it forward via Coulthard to May on the boundary 35 out. Hits the post.
1 - 8
-
No ruckman is showing so far. Stanley getting every ruck tap.
Our mids and forwards are not on the same page. Keep kicking it to Cat defenders with no Tigers near them :P.
-
Bad turnover by the Cats in the centre lets us in. Yassine bursts through and finds May 55 out who goes long to Pollocks 10m out. Goal! :gotigers
Rich 1.1-7
Geel 1.3-9

If the VFL game is anything to go by we are going to cop it from the umps ::). Banks good tackle to the side is paid in the back by the ump 50m away when the ump just 5m away with perfect view saw nothing wrong.
-
We get it forward and May marks 30 out directly in front. Misses. Should kick those.
8 - 9
-
Geelong kick across D50 goes OOTF. Yassine kick from the pocket on his wrong side. Misses.
9 all.
-
Blind handball in the D50 corridor :facepalm and Geelong get the free. Gifts them a goal.
9 - 16
-
Frees: 3 - 7 ::)
-
Green runs to 50 and then chips it straight to a Cat defender all by himself.
We get it back and May kicks towards Gray but it's touched and rushed through.
10 - 16
-
Ex-Tiger Bradtke gets one for the Cats.
10 - 22
Paying now for our misses :banghead.
-
Blind handball in the D50 corridor :facepalm and Geelong get the free. Gifts them a goal.
9 - 16
It was a stuffen BS free. Umpires are stuffen clueless
-
Quarter time
Richmond 1.4-10
Geelong 3.4-22
Goal: Pollocks.
First 10 mins we didn't get near it. We were lucky not to be hurt on the scoreboard. After that though the game evened out and we had plenty of chances on transition to go into an open F50 but wasted them as well shots on goal. Geelong last two goals came from their kick-ins.

Woeful start to the 2nd.
10 - 35
-
Our tackling has been terrible too. Pin the arm FFS! :banghead
-
No intensity unlike last week. Some lazy casual 'efforts' out there. Blind kicks under no pressure, low % backward taps, mistackles, and dropped marks.
11 - 41
-
May gets the free in the ruck 45 out. Rather than going for goal he looks to pass it off and ends up outside 50 and then goes long and just turns it over to the Cats defenders on the last line.
We get it back via Yassine and he also avoids going for goal and the pass to May in the pocket is spoiled.
Left our brains in the rooms today :help.
-
This is stuffen embarrassing. Only Trezise and Bauer look AFL capable. Coulthard and Banks should be delisted
-
Well that sums us up. Open F50 with a Tiger goal side and we stuff it up by everyone doing the opposite of what they should have done :facepalm.
Clueless and half sleep today :banghead.
-
Yassine smother on Stanley but Wilson's snap from 15 out misses.
We get it back via an intercept. Harry Scott with the mark 45 out. Goal! :gotigers
Finally we do something right.

What's with all these blind handballs to nobody :help
-
Bauer went down with what looked like an ankle. But he's got up and stayed on.
Brindley got the free on the wing but kicked it into the man on the mark and Geelong rebound for a goal :P. A quarter of complete brainfades and schoolboy errors :help.
18 - 47

Clearly the VFL umps didn't get the memo re HTB ::)

Throw-in 25 out. Cats rushed kick is intercepted by Davidson 40 out. The set shot barely makes it over the goal-line. Goal! :gotigers

Just replicating the seniors like they're supposed to.... :shh
-
Just want to say it's bloody chilly down here at the cattery
-
I think that was Collier there who didn't go and ballwatched on D50. Could/should have marked that. Let the ball bounce and it gifts the Cats a goal.
30 - 53
-
How's the second coming of Richo-on-the-wing Davidson going? :whistle

Kosi just as useless down back...like Dawks fans said.... :shh

Half time
Richmond 1.4 4.6-30
Geelong 3.4 8.5-53
Goal: Gray, Davidson, H.Scott, Pollocks
The one positive - many VFL Tigers couldn't play any worse :P.
Bauer the only AFL-lister out there that looks worthy of promotion.

Two nice blind spins by Yassine. McCarthy's kick goes to a Cats defender who drops a sitter. May gets the free 35 out. Misses. That's 1.3 for him today.

Dumb play at HB coughs up the ball and then the ump falls the Cats player ducking. Poor defending allows a mark to a high ball. These schoolboy errors are momentum killers.

VFL Tigers go down to Geelong
By Zakariya El-Houli
Richmond Media
2 June 2024
Richmond VFL has been handed its fourth loss of the season by a strong Geelong outfit at GMHBA Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
In a momentum-shifting contest, the Tigers went down by 17 points, 8.12 (60) to 11.11 (77).
The hosts started strong off the back of their clearance, forward-entry and disposal dominance.
In just his second VFL outing, big-bodied midfielder Harry Scott (25 disposals, three marks, seven tackles, seven clearances and one goal) was influential in the middle of the park.
The only goal in the opening term for the Tigers came from converted forward Josh Pollocks, who had a strong impact in front of goals despite not lighting up the stats sheet.
Geelong opened the second term with three consecutive goals, establishing a commanding 31-point lead.
The Tigers clawed the margin back with majors from Sam Davidson, as well as Scott and Campbell Gray who were both first-time goalkickers for the team.
Gray, the mid-season draftee who featured in Richmond colours for the first time, was potent up forward and finished with 13 disposals, seven marks and two goals.
His mid-season counterpart Jacob Blight was strong down the other end of the ground, finishing with 20 disposals and nine marks from an intercepting role.
Early in the second half Geelong re-established a five-goal lead.
After his four-goal haul on the MCG against Essendon in Round 9, Archie May (13 disposals, seven marks, two goals) was prominent in the forward half once again.
He and Pollocks converted in the third term to reduce the margin down to 15 points and give their side a fighting chance heading into the final term.
In the fourth quarter, the Tigers got to within nine points of the hosts after Gray converted his second goal. However, Geelong responded valiantly to win their seventh game in-a-row.
A highlight in the fourth quarter came from Jacob Bauer who returned to Richmond VFL’s lineup following a quad complaint. He took a spectacular mark and finished with 11 disposals and six marks.
Richmond now move to 5-4 in season 2024. The Tigers will look ahead to their next challenge against Port Melbourne next Friday, June 7 at ETU Stadium.
Geelong 3.4 8.5 10.6 11.11 (77)
Richmond 1.4 4.6 7.9 8.12 (60)
Goalkickers: May (2), Gray (2), Pollocks (2), Davidson, Scott
Best: Scott, Blight, Wilson, Harris, Trezise, May, Gray

Where is Kossie at ?
-
Where is Kossie at ?
Darn good question
I was down there yesterday and saw nearly the entire game and there's no doubt he's trying bloody hard but he isn't clunking marks, isn't moving well. At times yesterday when he was chasing he reminded me of Soldo at full pace :whistle
But it also clear he is playing with zero confidence so TBH it's hard to know
-
Where is Kossie at ?
About a year away from having to look for a real job.... :shh
-
His only hope is CHB but with Blight coming in he could find himself down the order and looking grim. Not the greatest acquisition but who knows, he might surprise.
-
Must say Harry Scott looks promising. 187cm mid who is strong and and kick could be handy as a rookie next year.
-
Look out we actually we agree on something....
Don't mind the look of Scott either...... :shh

VFL Report: Round 10
Richmond VFL coach Steve Morris provides a summary of how the Tigers’ players performed in last Saturday’s loss to Geelong at GMHBA Stadium.
By Richmond Media
Richmond VFL coach Steve Morris provides a summary of how the Tigers’ players performed in last Saturday’s loss to Geelong at GMHBA Stadium.
Harry Scott (25 disposals, 15 contested possessions, three marks, four inside-50s, seven tackles, seven clearances, one goal)
“Harry’s made a wonderful start to his career in the Yellow and Black. For a 19-year-old kid to lead us for tackles and clearances in just his second game is a wonderful feat and he was instrumental in giving us a chance to win this game against a very good side.”
Chad Harris (20 disposals, 75% disposal efficiency, seven marks, three intercept marks, seven rebound-50s, three tackles)
“Chad was once again solid down back. I’m looking for his leadership to help set us up structurally and around stoppage this week.”
Lachlan Wilson (20 disposals, five marks, four tackles)
“It was a very strong game again from Lachlan in and around the footy. He's become a very important player for us really quickly.”
Jacob Blight (20 disposals, 75% disposal efficiency, nine marks, eight intercept marks, four rebound-50s, three inside-50s)
“His first game in Richmond colours was a really strong one. He had a game-high eight intercept marks and looked really strong behind the footy.”
James Trezise (18 disposals, nine contested possessions, 83% disposal efficiency, five marks, three rebound-50s)
“James played our system really well and was tough in the contest. It's great to see his run off half-back starting to increase as well. He's hitting some nice form.”
Joel Garner (16 disposals, 75% disposal efficiency, three rebound-50s, three inside-50s, five tackles, five clearances)
“Joel was really solid once again, but we’re asking him to lead really strongly with a young and inexperienced midfield group. I can't wait to see what he can do against Port Melbourne this Friday night.”
Sam Davidson (15 disposals, eight contested possessions, 87% disposal efficiency, four marks, five rebound-50s, three inside-50, one goal)
“It was a tough one for Sam because we've thrown him everywhere in his short time at the club. He was asked to play on a wing on the weekend, and it was a great experience for him to do so. I think he'll take some real learnings from that game, and it adds another string to his bow.”
Tom Brindley (14 disposals, 86% disposal efficiency, six marks, six tackles, 11 hit-outs)
“Tom played in the ruck; It was a really good experience for him to play against Rhys Stanley for a half. I thought he had another good influence on the game, and definitely stepped into the contest as well with six tackles.”
Tom McCarthy (13 disposals, 77% disposal efficiency, five marks, six tackles)
“Tom had a solid game. He was good in the contest, but we’re probably just wanting more from him offensively. When he gets his work done early he can be really effective in and around stoppage, and that's the challenge for him this week against Port Melbourne.”
Archie May (13 disposals, seven contested possessions, seven marks, two goals)
“I’m super pleased with the growth in Archie's game over the last month. I thought he had another really influential game on the weekend, kicking two goals from his six shots on goal. If he keeps getting those opportunities, he's going to have a really good second half of the year because he's usually a very nice kick at goal.”
Campbell Gray (13 disposals, seven marks, three inside-50s, five hit-outs, two goals)
“Tiger fans would have been really excited to see Campbell in action for the first time, and he didn't disappoint. He flew at the contest with aggression and followed up at ground level really strongly. He also played some time in the ruck, and I thought he was influential around the footy. It’s a great starting point for him.”
Sam Banks (11 disposals, four marks, four rebound-50s)
“He played three quarters again on the weekend, and his run-and-carry and decision making was on show. I’m looking for him to have more of an influence on games at this level, but he's in solid form.”
Jacob Bauer (11 disposals, six marks, four intercept marks, four rebound-50s, three inside-50s)
“Jacob took one of the biggest hangars you'll see in VFL footy. I thought his aerial power on the day was really strong, and he looked dangerous up forward as well, but I’m still looking for him to continue to grow from a defensive point of view.”
Cam Olden (10 disposals, three marks, four inside-50s)
“Cam didn't have his best day. Just structurally, he was a little bit off on the day and I think he's a player that can really help us moving forward. So, I’m looking forward to him bouncing back this Friday night.”
Nicholas Collier (10 disposals, five contested possessions, 80% disposal efficiency, three marks)
“I thought Nicholas had a really good start to the game, and proved his worth when he was able to be swung back later in the game and help with our flexibility. He's a young player who is progressing nicely"
Liam George (10 disposals, five contested possessions, two marks)
“Liam George did some beautiful things with the footy on the night. He's got a couple of things in his game that we feel can help him improve really quickly that we've already got to work on, so can't wait to see his continued progression.”
Jacob Koschitzke (10 disposals, five marks, five intercept marks, three rebound-50s)
“I thought Jacob was really sound behind the footy, and I thought his contest work was pretty good. He's in some pretty good form down back.”
Mohammad Yassine (eight disposals, three inside-50s, two marks)
“First game back in six weeks for Mohammad, and I thought he started really well. He had some really big moments where he was clean and used the ball well, which we know he can do. It's a good starting point, and I’m looking forward to seeing him progress again this week.”
Matthew Coulthard (seven disposals, three contested possessions, two tackles)
“I feel as though we're not getting the absolute most out of Matthew at the moment. He displays flashes of brilliance, and we know he can have a big influence, but it's just that consistency that we're looking for at the moment.”
Jed Feneley (seven disposals, three rebound-50s, two tackles)
“I thought defensively Jed was sound. Offensively, we've been continuously challenging Jed to get involved more, and that theme will continue this week.”
Steely Green (seven disposals, two marks, two tackles)
“Very similar to Matthew (Coulthard), I’m just looking for a little bit more influence on games from Steely. He's usually a beautiful user of the football and I felt as though he wasted a couple of opportunities that he would have usually snaffled on the weekend, and that's really important in his role as a small forward.”
Josh Pollocks (six disposals, three marks, three contested marks, two goals)
“Whilst Josh didn't have huge numbers on the stat sheet, I thought he showed once again that he is capable of playing at this level consistently. There are a couple of really pleasing edits that we've seen from him in terms of his forward craft and his ability to bring the ball to ground.”
Nick Guiney (four disposals, three tackles, one inside-50)
“He's a really important player for us but didn't have his best game on the weekend down back. He's not only a solid contributor as a player, but he's a really important leader for our group, so it's important that he bounces back quickly against Port Melbourne under Friday night lights"
