16 goals in 3 weeks confirms Schulz is a natural forward to me. He might be still below full match fitness in his own opinion but he must come in for Staff. We need a mobile leading goalkicker in our forward line. Having both Staff and Patto up there last week killed us once the ball spilled from the contest and was rebounded by Hawthorn.
-
The other thing with Jay is he can go down back in a pinch if needed - he gives us options.
Was very good today for the Burger, led well, held his marks and kicked a few ;D

Don't forget Richo is supposed to be back. I've been getting withdrawals.

jay said himself after the game he does not feel he is match fit enoug to play fwd at afl yet. vfl is different. he need big high skilled back men, play jay down back, if things are not working , then make a switch fwd. alot like matthews did with leppa at the lions

You are kidding?
16 goals in three weeks and you want to play him at CHB???????
Why on earth would you park an offensive weapon like Jay in a negating role?
Richo or no Richo, line him Sarge up at FF and park Patto at CHF.
Richo will be short of a gallop. We can pinch hit him off the bench at CHF when Patto relieve Simmonds in the ruck.
We are desperate to kick a winning score and Jay deserves a sustained opportunity up front to see if he's the answer.
Otherwise it's been a completely pointless excercise playing him there at Coburg.

I agree with you MR Magic that Jay should start up forward but at least with him in the side we have the option of sending him down back if we need to.
First option has to be FF but if Ray Hall is getting towelled up by Rocca - then I'd consider sending him down back

We won't have a chance in hell of winning the game if we play Sarge at CHB. We must be proactive and be more concerned about fixing up our centre clearance numbers where Hawthorn smashed us.
Rocca and Tarrant have rarely had day outs against us. Hall (or Gas) and Chubba will mind those two. Joel could take one if needed but the Pies play through both of them so Joel would have to play tight which would rob us of our rebound.
It's the likes of Didak and Davis we have to watch out for. Rainesy will probably get Davis so that leaves the Didak match-up as a query. Newman may get first crack. We should also make Clement accountable as we did last year with Browny. Let him take Pettifer then play through Petts quite a bit so Clement can't zone off.
