Sydney $1.47

Again...at $2.71 against the Swans? Have never bet on the footy but that's worth a punt!
-
They're forecasting rain all weekend, wonder what impact that will have on not just the game but our game style?
-
The Tigers are kicking themselves after narrowly losing to GWS over the weekend, despite holding a 28-point lead at the final change.
It follows honourable losses to Essendon and North Melbourne in the previous weeks.
But the upcoming challenge against Sydney poses as another winnable contest, albeit against one of last year's grand finalists.
The Swans' fall from grace sees them sit 14th on the ladder with eight wins, and they are fresh off a 90-point thumping from Adelaide.
"We understand what's coming," Yze said.
"They obviously had the performance they had on the weekend, but we're planning for their best.
"But for a young group like us, we're more worried about how we play, not who we're playing."

8 wins huh.
They're going better than I realised ::)

Tigers prepare for Swans’ “best”
Richmond coach Adem Yze says the side is preparing for the Sydney Swans’ “best” on Saturday afternoon.
Both sides enter the Round 13 clash coming off defeats, with the Tigers suffering a nail-biting loss to the GWS Giants, while the Swans were taken down by 90-points by the Adelaide Crows.
Despite Sydney's drop in form, Yze expects last year’s Grand Finalists to be at their best and is looking forward to the challenge that awaits.
“You always do (expect a response). They're a proud footy club and they made the Grand Final for a reason, so we'll plan on them bringing their best,” Yze said.
“They have got some talent in there...we understand what's coming.
“They obviously had the performance they had on the weekend but we're planning for their best. The opportunity to give some of our younger players the chance to play on some All-Australians…we're doing that, and we have been doing that throughout the season.
“We'll obviously go head-to-head with our midfield crew against them, but at some stage it'll be nice to see some of our younger players leaning against some of their superstars.”
Yze added that the Tigers will always be “more worried about how we play, not who we're playing” as he continues to guide the team on a new and exciting journey.
The coach also discussed the recent strong performances of Richmond’s VFL side, which is creating healthy competition for spots amongst the senior side.
“We've got some boys that are in really good form and that's what we want as a footy club,” Yze said.
“We want to perform well in the AFL team, but we need pressure from underneath, and our VFL team had a great win on the road. We've got some boys that are in really good form, which obviously then creates pressure on the boys that are in the team.”

Richmond v Sydney Preview
Lachlan Geleit
SEN
6 June 2025
If you looked at this fixture a few months ago, you’d expect both teams to be at opposite ends of the ladder.
Instead heading into Round 13, these teams are separated by just two spots, and Richmond enters as the most in-form of the two.
The Tigers' most recent result came against GWS where they led for almost the entire game before falling at the final hurdle. They had seven more scoring shots and 11 more inside 50s but were unable to hang on for a famous win on the road.
Meanwhile, Sydney last went down by a whopping 90 points to Adelaide at home on the celebration of the club's 2005 premiership. It was an embarrassing defeat.
Even though the Swans won the clearance count last week, they were smashed by the Crows on the spread, ultimately losing inside 50s by 25, while giving up 10 more scoring shots.
If Richmond can use the wide expanses of the MCG to their advantage, this is where they’ll hope to punish a Sydney side that’s out of sorts. Sydney will hope that their star midfielders Isaac Heeney and Chad Warner are too hot to handle for a Richmond on-ball unit that’s solid - especially after the return of Dion Prestia - but is without real x-factor.
If Heeney and Warner can impact forward of centre, that’s probably also Sydney’s ticket to kicking a real winning score.
Despite everything going against the Swans right now, they deserve to enter as favourites, partly because of where both sides are at in their development timelines.
Even though the pick is Sydney, it wouldn’t stun if the Tigers were able to cause another MCG upset as they did when the teams met at the venue last season.
Prediction: Sydney by 20 points.

-
Hugo is the worst tackler I have ever seen. So soft. Skills
Looking poor. Will be slippery and wet, gonna be an ugly game
-
Kicks inside 50 are going to be the story again aren’t they. When our most experienced fwd in lynch panics and just kicks to no one, what hope do we have
-
Seniors so far have the same goalkicking disease as last week and the VFL today :scream.
-
Seriously how bad is our kicking.
It's not AFL standard.
-
If yze doesn’t put someone on Blakey then you know we aren’t serious about winning
-
Free to Taranto 25 out. Just but it's there :gotigers.
8 - 6
It's 10-2 inside 50s.
-
Only bloke who can kick it probably should have been in this week but looks like he's done again unfortunately
-
That's better! Prestia long. Ross front and square to Lynch - hands to Campbell for the goal :gotigers
14 - 6
-
Nice goal from Prestia. Swans are a rabble is true. I truely think if we can capitalise on the scoreboard we could get a big win. Big if
-
Deliberate against the Swans.
Prestia dummies two Swans and goals :bow :gotigers
Rich 3.2-20
Syd 1.0-6
-
Kicking inside 50 is easily our biggest weakness. Just absolutely clueless
-
How is it even possible for Faull to miss that?
-
Great one-handed mark Jonty but like a few Tigers needs to work on his goalkicking. That was a sitter.
-
Our kicking for goal is hurting us.
-
Faull has yips big time. Kicking is fine in the warm up.
Like last week, if we could convert our chances we would win easily. EASILY. Instead our skills are below afl standard and we will probably lose because of it
-
Unforgiveable miss from Faull.
Don't care if your young, you should be kicking those
-
Yep GR12. Instead of being 3 goals up, the Swans go up the other end for a goal :scream.
Youth is no excuse for poor goalkicking. These are under 14s misses.
-
Needs this
-
Let's see with a long shot from 52 out if Jonty's accuracy is better. Nup. Made the distance easy but hooked it.
-
Unforgiveable miss from Faull.
Don't care if your young, you should be kicking those
Honestly I'd drop him. Had the poos with his kicking for goal.
Give Fawcett a go and teach Faull that he needs to get his act together or lose his spot.
peeed off.
-
Quarter time
Richmond 3.4-22
Sydney 2.4-16
Goals: Taranto, Campbell, Prestia.
Aside from the goalkicking we've started well as Swans would've got a rocket after last week.
-
Unforgiveable miss from Faull.

Honestly I'd drop him. Had the poos with his kicking for goal.
Give Fawcett a go and teach Faull that he needs to get his act together or lose his spot.
peeed off.
Unfortunately, Fawcett's goalkicking today was just as bad.
Goalkicking is a team problem. It's not just one or two players. We are amatuerish at it because we don't take it seriously and practice and work on technique.
-
Stats to QT:
Prestia 13 possies
Banks 8
Hopper 8
Taranto 7
Sonsie 5
Trainor 5
https://www.afl.com.au/afl/matches/7078#team-stats
-
Trainors kicking is absolutely deplorable. He was touted has being a good kick in the draft.. I’ve had confidence he will turn it around but geez it’s hard to watch atm
-
3 turnovers in a row kicking outside D50 :banghead
-
Kaleb smith just day dreaming…
-
This is Benny Hill stuff
-
Kaleb smith just day dreaming…
He's not up to it, should have played Clarke over him.
-
What is wrong with players.
Do they practice kicking at all.
-
Our pressure rating this quarter is just 129.
-
What is wrong with players.
Do they practice kicking at all.
Yep. They are feeding off our poor turnovers. We've been very lucky their last kick inside their F50 has been crap so far.
-
Broady. What was that?! :help
-
Broad can’t even mark a basic kick.
This is the worst display of our skills this year. So hard to watch and infuriating because we should actually be winning games
-
Some terrible tackling by our players. :help
-
Danger signs. We've been completely switched off this quarter. Losing in all 3 aspects: pathetic skills with the footy, no pressure without the footy, and getting smashed in the clearances.
-
Everything going right for the swans now. We look cooked.
-
Kaleb smith is a crap footballer. Why is he in the team
-
Kaleb Smith you twit.
Back to the VFL for you
-
If I was a coach honestly I could shirt front so many of our own players this last fortnight fmd
-
This is worthy of a spray from Yze. It’s okay to be positive and nice but sometimes you just need to stuffing give it to them
-
I have no problem with that being paid HTB against Hopper but when was the last time a 360 was paid? Don't say we don't get umpired differently.
-
We have no answer to Sydney's numbers behind the footy and were moving it too slowly
-
An inside 50 would be great
-
This is very difficult to watch.
-
Another sitter missed :scream.
-
I have no problem with that being paid HTB against Hopper but when was the last time a 360 was paid? Don't say we don't get umpired differently.
I’m sorry but if that’s what htb has become then that’s just another negative change in the game. That tackle was doing absolutely nothing to impact hopper and because he was spun around for a solid 1 second he was called htb? Ridiculous decision.
-
Embarrassing miss
-
:facepalm
-
Quite unwatchable.
Playing like a pack of b!tches
Very unprofessional
-

It’s the first 360 I have seen paid in ten years.
-
If the club doesn’t employ a specialist goal kicking coach to work with all our young kpfs (Armstrong, Faull, sims, Fawcett), then they’re really letting them down with their development. Get matty Lloyd or someone of that ilk in to help them with their technique.
-
That was a terrible terrible quarter - lucky swans didn’t maximise their superiority.
Need to get much better to turn this around.
-
This is worthy of a spray from Yze. It’s okay to be positive and nice but sometimes you just need to stuffing give it to them
Spot on
The lack of effort by some and lack of intensity by most is pathetic
-

He was in complete control, both arms free, standing up strongly just looking for the best option which he found. Understand you can’t take the pee and be holding it for 5 seconds but that was ridiculous.

By a strict interpretation of the rule, it's HTB. The AFL said two years ago they were going crack down and pay 360s. Fine! Pay them but it must be the case for everyone. And that's why I can understand why you're angry about that decision, TK. It disappeared being called for 18 months and the fluro muppets today all of a sudden ping us for one. It's that reason why it is BS call rather than the rule and decision in isolation.
-
18 tackles to 29 at HT
Sums up our "effort" perfectly
-
Worse then the goal kicking, is our midfield continuing their schizophrenic performance within a game. Absolutely dominated that quarter after being on top in the first, gave Sydney control and eventually their good players were gonna manufacture them some goals. Same issue last week against the giants, mid just went missing in the 4th quarter. Has happened often this season and I still think it’s because yze doesn’t rotate enough players through there. Seems like it’s hoppper, TT, Prestia, Dow and now Sonsie and that’s it. Need to throw in more impact players who can have a 5min burst through the midfield when the usuals are getting beaten.
-
1 mark by Nank. Not good enough. :help
-
Half time
Richmond 3.4 3.7-25
Sydney 2.4 5.9-39
Goals: Taranto, Campbell, Prestia.
Goal-less, skill-less, effort-less quarter. An old school spray is needed from Yze. The only hope is that was our shocker of a quarter this week rather than the last quarter as has been the case in recent weeks. We are very lucky we're 'only' 14 points down. If the Swans had hit most of their targets inside F50 and kicked straight, we could've been 6-7 goals down.
-
Swans look like they have a game plan and structure, we look like we don’t.
-
Stats to HT:
Disposals 167 - 180 .... ( contested: 55 - 60 )
Efficiency% 73 - 74
Marks 50 - 53
Tackles 18 - 29 .... As WP said. Today has been bruise free and poor workrate
Clearances 14 - 23 .... ( centre: 3 - 7 ) :help
Inside 50s 20 - 31
In50 eff.% 55 - 48
In50 marks 3 - 5

Hitouts 13 - 20
Frees 12 - 13 ...... ( 2 - 9 that 2nd qtr )
Taranto 15 possies

Banks 11
Brown 11
Trainor 11
McAuliffe 9
Hugo 9
Sonsie 9
Balta 8
Nank 8
Broad 7
Miller 7

Sims 3
Mansell 2
Ross 2
Kmac 0 .... sub not used yet

-
We are the rabble now
-
Hugo going to ground in the middle killed us then.
Keeping your feet is schoolboy stuff.
-
That’s the softest goal you could ever give up.
-
Boys didn’t come to play today.
-
We're just not switched on. There's no intensity or spirit. Grundy had 10 years to gather that ball and not on Tiger went near him.
-
Ross is impersonating Dow.
-
Kmac subbed on for Mansell (corky).
-
Nank getting schooled big time.
-
Not good enough by the captain there. Just handed them a shot at goal.
-
Dumb by the captain.
We've just surrendered this game :banghead.
-
Play one on one FFS
-
Has anyone ever seen Yze on the phone in the box, he's always just watching it seems
-
That's 50 you muppet.
-
Talk about average coaching. Do something different Yze. Bloody hell
-
lol, scoreless this quarter
-
They continue playing like this the crowds and viewership is going to drop right off.
It's lazy, unwatchable footy.
-
They continue playing like this the crowds and viewership is going to drop right off.
It's lazy, unwatchable footy.
Yep. Utterly uncompetitive since 1/4 time. Deplorable.
-
How was that HTB? :huh3
-
If 48 & 49 get a game next week I'll spew up.
-
Our leaders have been pretty crap all game. :help
Especially our captain. He's been rubbish
-
If 48 & 49 get a game next week I'll spew up.
They won’t, but neither will the other 21 players :snidegrin
-
Smith ran away from Warner then. Just let him kick the goal.
-
If 48 & 49 get a game next week I'll spew up.
They won’t, but neither will the other 21 players :snidegrin
I need a break as well.
-
Couple kids not up to it and almost every mature age player having a shocker. And no one to bring in from the 2s.
Delightful
-
Boys left for their bye break at quarter time.
It’s been a reality check .
-
Worst performance of the year.
TBBH I've sort of been waiting for a game like this. Today is obviously the day
-
Geez Healey is still a dirty Sydney cheerleader. Can’t his commentary.
-
3/4 time
Richmond 3.4 3.7 3.8-26
Sydney 2.4 5.9 9.12-66
Goals: Taranto, Campbell, Prestia.
That was even worse than the 2nd qtr. Just painfully bad :help. Have played since 1/4 time like our heads are already in the BYE off week. As others have said, many of our senior players have been poor and the rest of the side has followed. Grundy has owned Nank today.
-
How was that HTB? :huh3
The green/smith one vs Grundy?
Flopped onto the ball and just went limp like a b!tch
-
Can we cut out the over-cute bouncing handballs?! Every one of them has stuffed up :banghead.
-
Ross has managed to get himself everywhere the ball isn’t
-
Balta looks like he couldn’t give a rats a-hole today.
-
Summed up our day.
Our goalkicking is embarrassing.
-
Balta looks like he couldn’t give a rats a-hole today.
He's had plenty of teammates with the same poor mindset.
-
Time since last goal?
-
Look like they're tanking.
Couldn't possibly be this bad otherwise.
-
Time since last goal?
2 hours since we last kicked a goal :help.
-
Goalless in 3 of the past 4 quarters is a possibility.
-
Our small forwards / HFF are non existent.
-
The Bye week should be goalkicking practice. Bloody amateur hour! :banghead
-
Goalless in 3 of the past 4 quarters is a possibility.
Currently it's our lowest score against the Swans in 100 years :help.
-
Hooray flipping hooray! And we did our best to stuff it up as well.
-
Time since last goal?
2 hours since we last kicked a goal :help.
Hoodoo broken
-
That match needed a mercy rule. Thank gawd that's over. Worst performance for the year. It's not as we were playing a top 8 side.
-
Sydney are pretty ordinary too, no need for any of the Bloods fans to get excited. That should have been a 100 pt flogging today.
-
If my back wasn't so sore and I wasn't doped up on pills I'd have rolled off the couch and done something else other than watch this disgusting horsesh!t.
They need a whack over the head, a week off, then another whack over the head when they come back.
-
My eyes are bleeding 🩸
-
Can't think of one senior player that stood up today. :help
-
If 48 & 49 get a game next week I'll spew up.
No 5 is in my cross hairs
-
Final Score
Richmond 3.4 3.7 3.8 4.12-36
Sydney 2.4 5.9 9.12 11.14-80
Goals: Campbell 2, Taranto, Campbell, Prestia.
Dish up that non-competitive snooze-fest a few more times after the bye and all that promising work in recent weeks will be soon forgotten. Today was unacceptable.
-
If 48 & 49 get a game next week I'll spew up.
No 5 is in my cross hairs
He was a disgrace
-
6 of the top 7 ballwinners today were Swans and 7 of the lowest 10 were Tigers. Just too many passengers and most of our senior players had their worst game of the year.
-
Disgraceful effort today.
-
V suns at marvel 2023
V Freo at the G 2024
V swans at the G 2025
The only 3 games in 3 years I've taken my daughter to. Lucky she's only 5 and doesn't understand how bad those games actually were. :rollin
-
V suns at marvel 2023

V swans at the G 2025
The only 3 games in 3 years I've taken my daughter to. Lucky she's only 5 and doesn't understand how bad those games actually were. :rollin
Well, let us know beforehand next time you take her.
-
Disgraceful - throwback to the depths of Spud & Wallet - just need one the Swanettes players to accuse us of giving up. :thumbsdown
-
Shocking day at the office. Positives are, we didn’t get blown out. Probably would have last year. Yze said in the presser the 2nd and 3rd quarters were our worst this year, so at least he isn’t sugar coating it. Sydney and GWS are 2 games we should’ve won imo. If we could kick straight theyre both wins, probably north game too, so that would bring us to 6-7 for the year, would be stoked with that. Clearly the game plan etc is working when it clicks, it’s literally just poor finishing letting us down.
I think the bye comes at a good time. Reset, give the young boys a rest which they clearly BADLY need. Get Sims and Faull to kick a lot of goals at training.
Second half of the year still has lots of excitement to come. Would expect Smillie, Hotton and Alger all to debut. In fact Alger should come in for Green immediately.
-
Absolutely stuffn disgraceful.
Effort and discipline don’t require talent or experience
Neither on display today
Coaching was an embarrassment
What kind of club drinks their bathwater on a 3 and 9 record?
A joke. We are back to 2004 Frawley.
-
Definitely one of the worst games I have been to in a long time. Played like wooden Spooner. Definitely missing class of Lalor.
Senior players particularly in second quarter were woeful. Brown's kicking stood out amongst terrible kicking from Balta Broad and Vlastuin. Swans are not much chop. We were so lucky we were not playing a good team.
-
If yze doesn’t put someone on Blakey then you know we aren’t serious about winning
Said this pretty early on… Blakey was just about best on
-
Only caught Q2 & Q3. IMO, forget about goalkicking, game was lost in the midfield. I can excuse the forwards given how inexperienced they are and the defence given how much pressure they are generally under with continue F50 entries, but days like today where the midfield goes missing is inexcusable. There are no kids in that midfield bar Sonsie and Macualiffe. We have Nank, Prestia, TT and Hopper and for them to not be able to muster anything btw them after Q1 is hard to fathom. If that’s what we’re gonna get from experienced mids, we may as well put Lalor, Smillie, and Hotton through there once they’re available.
-
Game was over at half time IMHO
Reason being the lack of intensity and effort, throw in the shocking miss by Sims after the siren, heads dropped and it was a sure sign for me. Then we have the start of the 3rd and it was all over.
I stayed until the end but simply gave up caring
Most pathetic display of the season
-
Faull and Sims misses absolutely killed us.
Whole team needs a rest and a rocket up the arse.
-
As did Lynch going for goal in first quarter when we had two players in a better position.
-
I feel like this is the 100 point loss that I expected us to have had by now.
-
I feel like this is the 100 point loss that I expected us to have had by now.
Same, said something earlier in this thread
Beginning of the year I was expecting an "effort" like yesterday somewhere in the first 6 to 8 weeks. But thought with the improvement we'd seen we were going to avoid it but although it wasn't a 100 point thumping it might as well have been.
