Miller came back on and played out the match. So hopefully he's ok.
Not sure if Taranto will be available with that calf.
Campbell will return after concussion protocols.
Fire away with your changes?

Id drop young

I feel like Sims will make way for Armstrong. Seth in, Steely the obvious to make way for but I actually liked his game today. If Taranto is fit then, sadly, Jasper goes out. He needed to mail that goal.

I think they’ll give Armstrong a full game in the vfl before being up for the seniors the following week. He was still on managed minutes yesterday.

Yze hopefully Taranto will only miss today. He said it was calf awareness. He got through the Captain's Run yesterday but the fitness staff wanted to test it out at full pace on gameday in the warm-up. With still a month in the season to go, we didn't want to risk him and turn it into a worse injury.

If Taranto is right to go
INS: Taranto, Blight, Campbell
OUTS: Green, Sims, Trainor
Very lucky = Trezise, Mansell
Sims shows signs but his lack of attack on the contest, lack of 2nd efforts means for me at least he goes back to the VFL and work on getting these things right

The evidence is there for a return of Blight but I’ve been trying to think why I think he lacks something to make it in the AFL and I think and this is going to sound harsh but he just lacks reaction time to what’s happening around him , call it football smarts if you like

Fair call
But right at the minute Sims is suffering from the same, granted he is 19 yo
But Blight is only 8 games into his career
Although I think he should be playing and I'd have him in ahead of Sims right now. I think they won't select him again because of that trigger in his contract. Would be wrong if that's the case but just have a feeling that's going to be the case

If we don’t play him due to the trigger he will get picked up by another club, with our backline atm he may be getting viewed as a potential list clogger??
I do like the way he plays though

Team Tips:
They were competitive, but the Tigers came back down to earth against ladder-leading Collingwood after back-to-back wins — and in an ideal world, there’ll be a couple of changes coming at selection.
Pending any setbacks, Tim Taranto in theory should return after being a late out with calf soreness, however the club looks set to take a conservative approach should any doubt over his fitness arise.
Should he play however, James Trezise looms as the exclusion. Seth Campbell will return to Adem Yze’s lineup after suffering a concussion against the Eagles, but Steely Green — his replacement last Thursday at selection — was impressive against the Pies and should keep his spot, leaving Jasper Alger vulnerable after finishing as the side’s lowest-rated player last Sunday.
Ben Miller was impacted by a hip-pointer issue against Collingwood but played out the game, suggesting he’s not in danger of missing the trip to the Gold Coast.
Yze could opt to give young key forward Tom Sims a spell, with Harry Armstrong set to come back into calculations after returning through the VFL from his hamstring injury.
Jacob Koschitzke was also named as an emergency last Sunday, in case it’s more experience Yze covets, while Jacob Blight played a key ruck role at VFL level last weekend if it’s Toby Nankervis support that’s needed.
If all goes to plan, Josh Smillie should travel north with the club and make his first VFL appearance since early May.

Are you seriously dropping Sonsie after that game?
-
Out:
Mansell (omit)
Miller (if injured)
Trainor (rest)
Sims (rest)
In:
Taranto
Campbell
Blight*
Armstrong (if fit)
*Blight needs to play consistent games. He played 5 in a row earlier this year but ended up playing ruck, being thrown forward etc. He played 2 recently before being dropped again. I think he just needs to play and keep playing to see if he can adjust to the pace and stay adjusted.
Balta can ruck relief and they can move the magnets around, rotate the key players etc.
-
Out: Alger, Sims
In: Campbell, Taranto
Balta to play fwd/ruck role
Trainor sub

In the Mix: Round 21

Taranto is a test for this week after his calf re-tightened in the warm-up before Collingwood, but won’t be risked, while Campbell is very likely to re-join the team. Smillie will be available for the VFL if he gets through training this week, Dow is finally seeing some light at the end of the tunnel (although his timeline remains unchanged for now), but the news isn’t as good for McAuliffe, who re-strained his quad at training. The Tigers only had three AFL-listed players in the VFL, with Harry Armstrong likely needing another game in the twos before he gets another chance at the top.

So we will get back both Lynch and Taranto for the Saints game. Handy.
