-
Half-time
Richmond 5.2 10.2-62
Sandringham 2.3 8.5-53
Goals: Koschitzke 4, Girolami 2, Raso 2, George, Toner.
The breeze looked to have picked up which Sandy had that quarter but that last 15 mins was woefully soft by us. Got almost 4 goals up and then dropped our defensive intensity. Getting too easily beaten in the contests and smashed at the clearances. Only reason we are in front is because we're goaling with every second inside F50 (10 goals from just 20 inside 50s).
-
Stats to HT:
Kosi 13 disposals & 4 goals
Blight 8
Smith 6
Gibcus 5
Green 4
Sims 4
El Nour is our top disposal winner with 14 in defence.

We've come out since 3/4 without our brains. Just lackadaisical. Fumbling all the time. Nothing to do with the breeze. We need to win by 8 goals or more to jump ahead of Collingwood in the top 6.

Finally we get it forward without fumbling. Toner goal :gotigers.

Richmond VFL blow past Sandringham
By Connor Burns
RFC website
Aug 9, 2025, 10:52 pm
A dominant third quarter by Richmond's VFL side set up a 41-point win against the Sandringham Zebras on Saturday night at Kinetic Stadium in Frankston.
Richmond came into the clash with Sandringham as hot favourites and started the better of the two teams, led by key-forward Jacob Koschitzke who kicked three first quarter goals.
Massimo Raso and Nicholas Girolami also chipped in with clever goals as the Tigers took a 17-point lead into quarter time.
The Tigers were on fire early, getting on top in the midfield and converting their clearances into goals with deadly efficiency.
But the Zebras responded brilliantly with goals to Lance Collard, Bailey McKenzie and Arie Schoenmaker to keep the Zebras right in the game.
Half-time came at a good time for Richmond, as the Zebras came roaring back to be within two goals at the main break.
Koschitzke was the star of the first half with four goals, as he looked a genuine threat in the air and on ground level.
After letting Sandringham back into the game in the second term, Richmond came out red hot in the third term, with quick goals to Raso and Yassine signalling the Tigers' intentions, as they started to dominate.
Austin Johnson kicked a brilliant set shot goal from the boundary soon after and young VFL-listed key forward Joshua Pollocks also got in on the action, pushing the margin out to beyond 40 points.
Sandringham's second quarter display looked a distant memory, as it went scoreless for the quarter to give the Tigers a 49 point-lead heading into the final quarter.
Isaac Keeler kicked his first goal early in the last term, snapping a run of seven straight goals by the Tigers.
Charlie Orchard then kicked his third goal of the game as the Zebras put a disappointing third quarter behind them to gain some respectability back on the scoreboard.
They managed to dominate time in forward half in the last term, but didn’t capitalise on their opportunities, as Richmond cruised to a 41-point win.
Koschitzke played one of his best games in the yellow and black, finishing with 27 disposals, 26 hit-outs and four goals, while Mutaz El Nour was also brilliant (23 disposals and eight marks).
The mosquito fleet of Raso and Yassine, who kicked three and two goals respectively, were dangerous all night, while applying a lot of pressure on their opposition.
On a sour note, Tom Sims left the game in the third quarter with an apparent arm injury.
Richmond will next meet Williamstown at DSV Stadium next Sunday in the last match of the home-and-away season.

I know it was a weak opposition but what the heck got into Kossi?
Have said before I think he's a genuinely decent ruck chop out.
I wonder if he'd do better at the top level if he was up around the ball more vs just taking mostly crap delivery from a mediocre midfield.
Not that I expect to see much of him again.

Fair call
What was interesting is since his rare appearance in the AFL, The Forgotten Man is back playing forward in the VFL, chopping out in the ruck
He showed more in the ruck than Sims did, which was to be expected mature aged body versus developing kid.
But with 2 AFL games left, reckon he is zero chance of being seen again
