Either Worpel went silly cheap or the AFL secret ingredient in the compo determined that a top 4 side doesn't need a good pick but they wouldn't do that would they?

Another enthralling trade period with a pack of nobodies moving clubs for half empty bags of chips
AFL and media have tried to create this massive spectacle with trade week and have dragged it out where it’s now 1 week for FA and 1.5 weeks for trades when in reality a combined 1 week (and probably less) would be more than enough. Clubs are already talking to each other and rival players throughout the year not like they start on day 1 of the trade period.

Melbourne weren’t accepting 33 for mcvee and freo wernt giving up pick 12 for him. So they slid back their first rounder (19) to get a better second rounder (23) which they on traded to Melbourne for mcvee.

Cheers for that
Not worth the slide back IMO but that's their problem.

Yeah think they could have done better there too, but freo already have 1 of the youngest lists so think they’d much prefer ready mature players anyway
