Thursfield said he was looking forward to next year.
"I've started to do some light jogging. I should be right to go after Christmas," Thursfield said.
"I was really looking forward to this year but then I injured my knee. It was pretty shattering."
Describing the first two weeks after the incident as the most difficult, Thursfield is now up and about and busying himself by not only rebuilding his knee with a specialised weights program, but also doing a spot of fishing.

All the best to Thursty. You've got to admire his confidence and self-belief after what happened to his knee :(.
