Sheesh no wonder they were saying it was a bad one :(.

I assume these types of injuries are something a player would come back 100% from???
I remember when B1 did it a couple of times in the late 90s , seemed to take a long time to get his confidence back
so hopefully JON is not affected in the same way...

the kid needs to get over it fully, then he needs a big effort in the gym over the summer. Hopefully he can put on 6 or 7 kgs between now and next April.

Don't worry about JON - he'll be fine, will get over this one no dramas. Kid has an incedible resolve :thumbsup

he showed great guts and toughness as he didnt lay down and goy up immediately. would love to see a few senior blokes put their bodies on teh line like he did.
i think what they meant about 2 breaks was JONs break and meyers break as he has fractured his foot, heard terry mention it. or maybe jon did have 2 breaks also . not sure
but jon will be fine, he could have wimped out of the contest and fained much respect 4 his act of courage

Round 18 medical room
07 August 2006 Herald-Sun
Dr Peter Larkins
JARRAD OAKLEY-NICHOLLS
DIAGNOSIS
(COLLARBONE): Oakley-Nicholls sustained a fracture of the right clavicle (collarbone) in a heavy collision with Bulldog Cameron Faulkner in the first quarter of Saturday's match.
DOC SAYS...
He left the field and sat out the remainder of the match with his arm in a sling. It is likely he will undergo surgery to insert a plate and pins to stabilise the fracture. If this is done Oakley-Nicholls will miss the remainder of the 2006 season but will return for the 2007 pre-season.

bones mend, he'll be fine. Will hopefully spend sometime in the coaches box with tez, its always a great experience for young players in fact i'd go as far as to say it kinda evens out getting an injury so early in your career cause you learn so much about gameday tactics and once you've mended you can get back to playing with that little extra knowledge to help better develop your own game.

That's true blx. The same thing happened to Joel and while it took a few years to get his confidence back, it didn't rob him of any physical attributes that he had before doing his collarbone. Let's hope the same for JON. Being a teenager also helps.
