.. is if Garry Lyon walked straight into the Saints, with a great list, primed ready to win a flag and he wins one.
Would really like to see a guy like this do the hard yards like everyone else.
stuffed if I know why everyone says he would make a great coach.
Timmy Watson was a great player, look at his coaching credibility :wallywink
But then again, he could be an absolute abysmal failure, and that would be something to cherish lol

Whoever gets the Saints gig is going to have his work cut out to push his own direction for St Kilda. The Saints did have potentially the best list but that was 2 years ago. Now their backline is stuffed, they lack midfield depth and they need a quality ruckman. Many of their "stars" are old and/or injury prone.
The new coach needs to clean out the deadwood on their list otherwise they will just linger b/w 5th-8th before eventually crashing. Problem is the Saints board and fans still think they are flag material so they will want instant success. Not the culture lol someone like Lyon with no AFL club coaching experience should be walking into as Watson found out.
