Cheers for that sawyer :cheers. I was a bit off thinking it was a mobile skin :-\ lol.
The NFL has this sort of thing. The crowd cheering and waving and swinging around small towels in unison.
-
the picture of the "rockers" was closer than we thought :lol :lol :lol

Oki Doki then :-\ :help

Being a tiger supporter is innate, its raw, its emotional ...... this is what the Tiger Skin represents ..... it shows that you're 100% committed to the Tiger cause ... your challenge is to bring your skin to the first Tigers home game
What a load of sch1t.
-
Based on recent round 1 floggings this idea could die after the first 5 minutes lol.
-
Obviously someone doesn't like the the tiger skin idea :lol

Membership drive takes many paths
By Greg Lange
afl.com.au
BILLBOARDS, television commercials and marketing via the internet – clubs are pulling out all stops this season to attract members.
Richmond members, for example, are receiving the brand new Tiger Skin – a yellow and black towel the Tigers marketing team is hoping supporters will wave at every match this season.
The Tiger Skin is based on the Terrible Towel, a small hand towel introduced in 1975 by gridiron side the Pittsburgh Steelers, who won back-to-back NFL titles after the so-called ‘rally rag’ was introduced.
Trent Jacobs, general manager of consumer marketing at Richmond, hopes the Tigers’ rally rag will help improve the team’s performance, though he says the Tiger Skin is not designed to be a good-luck charm.
“The Tiger Skin is one of many unique ways the club is trying to increase the enjoyment of our members as they support their side,” he said.
Jacobs hopes the Tiger Skin will not only help attract members but keep existing supporters on board.

Dear Mr Jacobs, good to see that you have looked after the kids with your 'Tiger Skin' idea. Was there anything for adults?
Mr Jacobs hopes that it will attract new members. Yeah right, people will really want to pay $200 for a membership just so they can get the 50c Tiger skin. Geez marketing people are a waste of oxygen. :banghead
-
Its alright stop whinging people.
-
Win the first few games in a row and it could take off as a novelty for a short while just to tick off opposition supporters. 40,000 Tiger supporters waving towels in Eddie and Joffa's face after another win over the Pies lol.
-
Forget about the skin - I think I've made my thoughts on it very clear :rollin
But about the sticker............. is already off the car. Was on the car for 2 months but the yellow faded to near white so I've taken it off. :banghead :banghead
Every year............ :'( :-\ :whistle :help

Could it be something to do with the ozone Layer? With Julian Sumner Miller gone to god "who do we ask"?
-
Actually I found last year's sticker to be quite good - the best I've had so far. It didn't peel off and was just starting to lose it's colour - and my car is out in the Qld weather everyday.

Now the Dogs are doing the t-towel thing. The "Teddy Towel" in their colours with "stick it up 'em" on it. :-\

Maybe we can have wet towels fights at 20 paces.
I hear they will also have a roar woof meter and a tiger bulldog growling on the scoreboard after goal :nope

And they are charging their supporters $10 for the towel - granted $2 goes to the Whitten foundation but $10 :gobdrop
In the words of one John Patrick McEnroe
"You can't be serious"
-
We have decided we are taking ours ( dont know how much we will get to twirl them - lol)
Wer'e on the fence and are going to show as much support for our club as we can (even if it is a bit daggy)
STAND UP AND GET BEHIND THE CLUB ................... OR stuff OFF :gotigers
-
i hav a stack in my room just waiting to be waved ;)
-
This could become the shortest lasting idea in history if the Swannies do job on us like last year. Let's hope the Tigers play more direct footy and show some guts and determination. Give us a reason to make us want to go off and twirl these damn teatowels.

April 5, 2007
richmondfc.com.au
Attention all 2007 Richmond members, who are planning to be at our first home game of the season, against Sydney at the MCG this Saturday . . .
It’s time to unwrap the ‘Tiger Skin’, which you received as part of the Club’s ’07 membership package, and take it with you to the ‘G’ for the big Round 2 clash with the Swans.
The Tiger Skin is the embodiment of the famous Yellow and Black spirit.
Let’s turn the G into a roaring wave of Tiger Skins and help lift the boys over the line against the Sydneysiders.

i am going to look like a fool when i bring it ...
so i better be waving it after the match !
-
I have noticed that people don't know what to do with the tigers strips towel. We took it to the NAB game at Mildura as we knew this was the only time we would get to use it. But my little granddaugter has found a use for it. She has taken it home as she used it to wrap her little doll in it. So its hers now. But she love the Tigers all we have to do is say, Tigers and she starts to dance. Hows that for brain washing. Her mother goes for the Bombers and she actually knows our song and not her own team.
-
Top stuff retygas. Get 'em while they're young :lol.
-
yeah !
what do we do with them ?
-
what do we do with them ?
You're meant to whirl it around above your head after each goal and as the side comes onto the 'G. After the game too if we win.
-
bump.
-
Well the towel thing went well lol. One twirl before the game when half the crowd didn't have a clue what the hell the PA guy was saying :wallywink.
-
So has anyone here still got their tiger towel?
-
Use mine as a gym towel :thumbsup
-
its in the engine bay of my workcar used for rag checking oil & whatever ;D
-
Still unopened, waiting for an EBay opportunity ;D
What marketing genuis came up with the towel ? Probably the same one with the roar metre !
-

lol
I took it to our first home game against the Swans and that was about it. It's just not Aussie Rules culture to wave a towel. If you want to wave anything around you use your scarf.
-

OK - Online auction via OER.
Whats the opening bid ?

true but i wonder if the towels would have come out if we had won a few more games especially earlier in the season, cant blame the marketing dept for at least trying something new.
