This guy and his brother (Hayden, drafted by Hawthorn, no senior games) absolutely slaughter the guys down here in the WGLFL.
Maffra boys, hailing from the same town that brought you Giesch.

Whoever chose the rookies for Melbourne in 96 deserves a medal - 5 picks who were still playing AFL a decade later. Brilliant work.

Well we know it wasn't Greg Beck lol. We used the rookie list as a top-up list for the VFL :banghead.

Just another reason why we are where we are:
A look at other clubs reveals St Kilda, Western Bulldogs and Richmond have had the fewest rookies since its inception in 1997.
The Saints and Tigers have had few rookies step up and star at AFL level.
At Richmond Nathan Foley, Cameron Howat and Jake King have graduated into the team, but Greg Tivendale, with 171 games, is by far the most productive in terms of games played.

Andrew Kellaway should qualify in there somewhere. I think he came off the supplementary list in 1997.

He did FF but as someone pointed out on here he was drafted at pick 71 :).
-
Ahh, he was drafted from the supplementary list with a ND pick rather than promoted during the season. I think I get it.
Tim Notting would be in the same boat as AK then (?) He was drafted from our supplementary list too. Unfortunately, by Brisbane.

Yep :P

I think you guys are thinking of Tristian Lynch, who joined Brisbane when Northey walked out to coach Brisbane at the end of the '95 season.

Maybe Lynch is another one in that boat.
Definitely Notting who I'm thinking of. ;) He was a "top up" player for our reserves the year before Brisbane drafted him.
