does this mean JON is fit???
Fit as in no longer injured yep. JON trained all last week but he'll still need to do heaps more to catch up on all the preseason running and match-play he has missed.

Without a proper preseason base it's going to be harder for him this year. Hopefully he can get through this year without anymore serious injuries and get a good preseason under him for 2008.

so Oakley-Nicholls is fit ... GREAT ... should be in the NAB team ... !

JON has done 2 weeks of the pre-season - those being the last fortnight. There is no way he can play in the NAB cup.
He is starting way behind everyone else and considering the injury he had (stress fracture) I wouldn't be rushing him

Agree. Stress fractures are tricky, and sometimes a broken leg heals quicker.
I would leave JON in the gym to bulk up and keep him off his feet as long as possible.

Thursfield looking ok for round 1?
Or has he got alot more catching up to do fitness wise and we wont see him until say May?

I was at a Club80 function last night and King said he was coming along well but was still a few weeks behind the other blokes. Is joining in most the the drills but not ready for matches at the moment. Still a few more weeks away :thumbsup
Just on JON they mentioned last night that because his bones are still growing :gobdrop - it's been harder to manage his stress fracture condition but it was all good now and it's just a case of him getting the fitness levels back up and easing into full training.
-
so ... Oakley-Nichollos and Thursfeild willn't be ready for the NAB series ???

I like the sound of that, WP. Could he end up as a KP, I wonder.
-
lol if he turns into a Buddy Franklin type only a lot better.

Simmo was back at training today in the rehab group with Patto and Knobel. All did some laps and kicking of the footy. In between Simmo was discussing something about his ankle with the head-conditioner trainer.
No sign of Kingsley today.
-
Might have to put Captain Schulz in at full forward if Kingsly cant come up. Otherwise we're looking a bit thin . .

A future modern CHB with his inspector Gadget arms, GB :thumbsup. Allow Polak to push forward at times as Plough considers Polly more a natural forward.

i forgot what tory simmonds actually said ... but either his ankle is right for next week ... or for round 1 ...
now that we are out of the NAB Cup ... he should just train and play round 1 ... get that ankle completely good ...
even though he did say he is ahead of his rehab ...
richo, we know is ok ... but should just get ready for round 1 ... i would work on his sprinting ... because he did it running into goal ... so treat the hamstring and work on the quick sprints to make sure its strong ...
i don't care about hall ... :lol
kingsley ... would like to see him play some matches ... probably these 3 i reckon !
thursfield i heard was ok to go ... should play the 3 matches ...

Simmo is too valuable (as we found out on the weekend) so we should let him take as much time as needed. Better for us he plays say 17 decent games than playing with a NQR ankle for 22 matches.
