According to Plough on the RFC website, we are going to give most of the senior players this week off to give the young blokes a chance to travel and to play against Swannies. Sugar being the exception because he didn't play on Sunday. We'll have 5 or 6 guys coming back. Sarge, JON and Thursty will play.

Really looking forward to seeing the boys returning from injury in action esp thirsty and JON.
Its so cheap to get in I'm bringing the wife for the road trip down the Hume/federal. :help
I'm not expecting a great contest but it will be good to see some of the young guns get a crack. I hope they play Edwards, Connors and Jack. :thumbsup
As I said I'll get some pics and do a report. If I had prepared better, I could have setup a wireless account and taken my laptop and setup an internet audio stream with me calling the game but I think it may actually contravene someones broadcasting rights. :whistle
Actually you can all call me on my mobile for regular updates...its 04.........Damn!! I can never remember my number :lol
I'll post a report on Sunday if I get a chance.

2TPR - tiga's pirate radio is football :lol
-
tiga will you have time to supply the half time entertainment ?
I can just see you out there saying "Everybody dance NOW" :thumbsup ;D
-
ROFLMAOOOO MT & WP. :rollin
Ahhh it brings back memories of WKRP in Cincinatti and Johnny Fever!! :rollin
"Lets get down and BOOGIE!!"
As far as Half time entertainment, I have a mushroom allergy so if someone feeds me a steak and Mushroom pie I could provide a little anaphylactic shock for the locals at Half time for a little entertainment. :lol
Hey this could be big...We could enlist various OER members to perform pirate calls of various games throughout the season. At least we would get an accurate and unbiased account of the game.
All you need is a laptop, a decent wireless connection with a public IP address and some audio streaming software. :thumbsup Would they allow a laptop into the ground? Well it isn't alcohol or an offensive weapon.... Tell him he's dreamin! :lol
I sometimes think I am ahead of my time but when reality hits, I'm usually running about 2 hours late. :lol

I'm sure they will tiga. The AFL are so understanding to the needs of the average footy fan lol.

Miller said on SEN that we will have a very young side this week then a more senior side in the last two practice games in the lead up to round one.
He also said our performance on Sunday out of 10 was closer to 0 than 10 :yep.

The Swannies are going to play some of their big guns in the game:
Ben Mathews, Jarrad McVeigh, Nick Malceski, Ted Richards and Craig Bolton will be rested from Saturday's practice match against Richmond at Manuka Oval. Darren Jolly, Peter Everitt, Michael O'Loughlin, Leo Barry, Tadhg Kennelly, Jude Bolton and Nic Fosdike have been added to the squad.

All our recognied ruckmen were in the rehab group :-\.
I hope this week we rest the few blokes who were reasonable last week as some reward plus Richo and Krak due to injury.
Rest: Newy, Browny, Lids, Foley, Polak, Rainesy, Joel, Tivs. Rest Gas as well as a veteran.

Geez MT, don't forget entertaiment value for Ole Tiga! I still want to see a few of our stars in Canberra. I don't get to see the lads live as regularly as you lot down south. :'(
-
Do we have any stars?! lol :lol
Edwards and Hydey said they're playing this week. Shane's minor leg injury is all good :thumbsup. We head up to Canberra on Friday.

After the insipid performance, the Tigers now travel to Canberra at the weekend to face Sydney in a practice game.
So disappointed was coach Terry Wallace in the performance against the Cats that he will send a virtual youth team to Canberra, including every rookie on the Tigers' list and all their first-year players.
More positive tidings for the Tigers lie in Saturday's return of Will Thursfield, who sustained a critical leg injury in round two last year at a time when he was showing significant promise.
Thursfield and fellow defender Jarrad Oakley-Nicholls will line up against the Swans in what Wallace and his coaching team hope will set the tone for the club's defence for years to come.

Tigers lacking bite but Kane able to entertain

The Sydney Swans will assume favouritism in Saturday's NAB Challenge match against Richmond at Manuka after the Tigers confirmed they would rest the majority of their top squad for the clash.
The Tigers will take a cautious approach to the game after Geelong delivered a thrashing in Sunday's NAB Cup game.
Gun forward Nathan Brown, defender Joel Bowden and full-forward Matthew Richardson will remain in Melbourne - the latter because of a minor hamstring injury.
Recruit Kent Kingsley will also miss the game because of an ankle injury, while crumbing forward Andrew Krakouer is facing a two-match ban for rough conduct.
Tigers skipper Kane Johnson will make his first appearance of the year on Saturday, while promising on-baller Richard Tambling is set for his second game.
In contrast the Swans will field a host of premiership stars including captain Brett Kirk, Brownlow medallist Adam Goodes and full-back Leo Barry. Recruit Peter Everitt will also make his debut for Sydney.
Richmond assistant coach Brian Noble [sic] said the Tigers would field an inexperienced side as they attempted to manage the workload of senior players.
The club was approaching the game as a chance to see how its second-tier players performed.
"We've got three practice matches to go and we've got to be very careful now we've been knocked out of the NAB Cup that we manage our players," Noble said.
Top draft picks Jack Riewoldt and Shane Edwards will debut for Richmond. Royal said Riewoldt, a cousin of St Kilda star Nick, had been outstanding during the preseason and would play centre half-forward and full-forward.
He rated Edwards - a number 26 draft pick - as a potential senior player this year.
"He didn't play on the weekend because he had a bit of a sore ankle but he's an excitement machine," Royal said of Edwards.

JON hasn't had much of a preseason so I'd have Paddy kept in for him but can't disagree with the other changes Ramps. If Thursty gets through all the practice games in the next couple of weeks then it's time to develop our future backline and play him ahead of Gas at FB.
-
jon went ok today by what i have read
thursty should get the job asap at fb, gas can go back pocket as he can play small also with his "cat like" style
