Hutchy isn't the most reliable source but he said Judd has delayed all contract negotiations until the end of the season. Eluding that now he has won a flag and with the problems with the leaders around him at the Eagles he may consider moving back to Victoria.
-
In a word, yes.
In the right age group that we need, the best player going around - why wouldn't you.
Might mean we have to finish last to get him though.
-
Absolutely - without hesitation. WOuld need to give away plenty but if he's available you'd have too
-
The Dees would be sentimental favourites if Judd did leave the Eagles as he barracked for Melbourne as a kid. The Pies always get linked to a big fish but can never catch one (who can blame the fish :D ). He apparently according to Eagles fans hates playing at the Dome so that would knock out the bombers, roos, dogs, saints and blues if true. We've gone after at least one player each year under Miller. Scored Simmo, Paddy and Polak. Missed out on Fev, Lappin and Solomon (thank god).
This a handy way for the Eagles to distract the media especially in Victoria from the drug problem at their club.
-
If he does leave it would be Melbourne I reckon.
-
melb would be where he goes, and then hawks.
no other club has a chance
would i go for him ......no
why , he would cost us too much , too much money , and too much trade, eagles would want deledio, jon, blingers, and who knows who else
one man does not make a team, and imho, judd is not the key man at wce, cousins is
-
Yes, yes, yes. I'd go for Judd before Cousins. Cousins can't seem to stay out of trouble.
-
My first instinct is to say "YES!" - but as X-cited says there's a lot to think about and we don't want to sell the farm. Another question - would Judd be as productive playing for Richmond? Can our players win the pill and provide the targets and support and protect him like they do at WCE? I suspect life might be a bit tough without Cousins, Kerr etc.

exactly
cousins, kerr and embley make judd.
my bet is judd will be a good player elsewhere, but no where near as good as he is at wce.
he has a great midfield supply at wce, he wont get that elswhere
btw, who cares id cousins is in trouble, he is by far the best midfielder and hardest working and hardest running player in the afl

Isn't Cousins about 29 years of age?

does not matter how old he is, he is by far the best and number 1 midfielder in the afl
no one runs as hard as he does, he is in top gear from start to finish, he vomits lactic acid many times during a game cos he pushed his body that hard.
judd may be faster, but cousins runs harder and longer and is the key to wce team not judd
-
yes, coz clearly hed be better than any other player at our club, but cant see it happening unless we finish bottom and get him in the psd.
-
Would u eat a poo sandwhich for a million bucks?
Same analogy.
lmao@ craig hutchinson and his reliability as a hjouno.

hjouno.??? is that a spanish word lol :rollin
-
YES!
We can make the room if some tough decisions are made on some senior Tigers.
Judd is exactly the type of player Richmond needs at this point of our development
-
and worth about 5000 adult memberships. Hed pay for himself lol.
-
Offer WCE our first pick plus Tambling and Newman.
-
Offer WCE our first pick plus Tambling and Newman.
That's a little OTT(particularly if it's dp1 ;)) but it would take a deal near that to clinch him.
-
"should we chase Judd?"
1st ... it is to early to talk about the draft ...
2nd ... HE WILL NOT LEAVE WEST COAST ...
3rd ... if so ... Tambling and 1st round pick or picks
4th ... "should we chase judd?" ... YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
:pray come to Richmond Chris !
-
cogs and our first round pick.
-
The going rate for Judd according to one veteran player-list manager is Judd could be worth up to $1.2 million a year and three first-round picks, or two picks and a young star.

he is not worth that much, and im telling you now, woosha is wrong, cousins is their most important mid, then kerr , then judd
judd is just the finisher, all the hard wor and grunt is done by cuz and kerr
watch judd drop off this yr

Judd is still awesome but I agree it is easier for him in that midfield. Judd at Richmond would find things 100 times tougher with our lack of depth and inadequate skill level. Their midfield depth is what causes other sides problems. Guys like Braun, Fletcher are second tier at the Eagles but would be top 2 at most other clubs. Sugar tagged Judd out of the game twice last year yet we still got totally annihilated in both meetings.
Not sure where a club will get 3 first round picks from. You would have to finish down the bottom with just 4 wins then trade a good young player to a third club to offer say picks 2, 12 and 18.

Spot on MT, a player is only as good as his environment allows. At WC the environment is good (well at least on the field ;) ) and Judd can just dominate. If he was at Richmond he'd still be a champion player but not quite the ilk of what he currently is.
-
The Roos have offered Judd $1m per year.
-
The Roos are desperate to survive, its almost a last roll of the dice. I doubt he will go there- why leave WCE to come to Melbourne then go to North who will be playing in Queensland lol. I reckon a last place finish and $700,000 a year may give us a decent chance of Judd in the PSD or on good terms trade wise.

The weagles letting go of Judd is laughable. There is no way they would do it. The only way I see Judd leaving WC is if the culture worsens, or once WC falls apart on the field in a couple of years, and the football department decides to trade him to cash in on some draft picks
