We wouldn't need this dough if we weren't forced to play at matchbox size grounds like Kardinia Park  ::).

Seven clubs received extra money from the AFL last year in the form of the special distribution fund.

They were: Western Bulldogs $1.7 million, Kangaroos $1.4 million, Melbourne $1 million, Sydney $500,000, Hawthorn, Richmond and Port Adelaide $250,000. All seven clubs will receive comparable amounts this year.

Carlton separately received a $2.1 million financial aid package outside of the special distribution fund.
