Some of the old players we luv to bag have been very good tonight: Gas, Tiv, Krak
Early days, but you can't knock their endeavour.
-
If Kel Moore plays a bit more like tonight, he'll be a regular player.
Polak going for goal and I'm closing my eyes. We have a new Benny Gale - I used to close my eyes when he kicked lol
Yep, he missed a sitter
Richmond 57 - Carl 45

-
i still think we will run over them....carlton look stuffed....if we can reduce our errors and turnovers we will come home with the 4 points....
-
Hope you're right TT.
Lots of the old Richmond still creeping into their game.
But the run has been really good and they fought back well then and in the 1st quarter when challenged.
Hopefully they can run the game out

-
We're gone - Waite goal
Carlton 93 - Rich 85
Yep, driving me nuts, TT - we're throwing it away again - and it's the seniors I reckon have let us down with really sloppy work - what's the go with Bowden's kicking out.
Fev will kick this one while I'm typing this and I think life stuffing sucks!
Richo off the ground
Carl 100 - Rich 85

she was more attacking while up and when she went down she kept going
-
our skills are still well below par moi
-
We are running harder now when it's all too late :banghead
-
Well they played better than I thought they would considering the rubbishing Bully and Jack were giving them.
But not much consolation I'm afraid!
-
to break it down into simple terms 40 scoring shots to 23
tigers are exactly like an old girlfriend that comes back and teases you for a while then nicks off again
thank god for cab sav cheers moi i will be at the game next week behind the goals to endure more punishment
-
Yeah, I'll be there too sipping away on my own cab sav or two or three - anything to numb the senses :banghead
-
We are a rabble. Stevens and Waite won them the game oh yeah and our stupidity as well. Theres just no smarts exhibited in a crisis.
-
LMAO@ Our Senior Citizen list
Decrepid, immobile non-thinkers who are severely under-equipped in the skill dept
and unable to lead us to anything except our own assholes.
*spits on pic of Bowden* :lol
-
*spits on pic of Bowden* :lol
If anyone comes on here and says Bowden had a good game, I'll throw up.

FHO ASAP!
stuffen wanker bastard son of a bitch
-
Oh well, wooden spoon here we come :wallywink
just kidding! :lol :lol stuff that! Today was an embarrasing loss but we are in no different position to 7 other clubs, most of which are contenders for this years flag, see Adelaide, MElbourne, Freo and Sydney.
So the way I see it, get the losses out of the way at the start of the season ;)
-
*spits on pic of Bowden* :lol
If anyone comes on here and says Bowden had a good game, I'll throw up.
He wasn't the worst.

You're right Moi; if my wishes* had've come true he would've been.
*I wish Darren Gaspar would quit football
-
Fox u got no idea about football, if bowden was at any other club he would be a champion so if you want me to get of your mum and learne something of her to go for it
-
Apart from a couple of ordinary disposals, like everyone else, i don't reckon Gas was that bad. Would have been in the better players IMO for what it's worth.
-
BTW Marc Murphy didn't look too flash.
Do I sniff a case of 2nd year blues :wallywink
-
I'm actually upset that we lost to Carlton more than anything lol.
Great start we had with Sugar kicking the ball in the wrong direction :banghead
Disappointing since we were out in front by quite a bit and we let them back in the game, but hey it's only the first round
IMO the two good things from the match that immediately come to mind is... we had multiple goal-kickers, we weren't always searching for Richo, we had other options.
:thumbsup Howat and Foley are gonna be superstars! (No pressure :rollin)
I didn't get to watch the game, listened to it on the radio, just wanna know apparently McGuane got reported in the 1st Qtr... anything in that? And how did Patto do in the ruck? I didn't hear to much about him :-\

Great to see at least some real tiger fans have some optimism :thumbsup
-
Well they played better than I thought they would considering the rubbishing Bully and Jack were giving them.
But not much consolation I'm afraid!
For what its worth, Blues should of won by 6-10 goals.
There kicking at goal was disgraceful
-

I consider myself a 'real' Tiger fan Bluey, and I'm not optimistic. Hell, why should I be, the bloke in charge who's on $600 grand a year isn't even optimistic!
-
Carlton are ahead of us going forward. Richmond needs early picks again.

It was still an entertaining match to watch up until the last quarter. And yes, I acknowledged the Blues should have been much further ahead in the game thread.
You should be happy with the result ::)

Well at least Wallace is more optimistic than a few so called Richmond fans, not naming names lol

when he started it was wait 4 years now its 2011 what next

It very sad actually.
As i dont beleive the club on field is heading in the right direction.
The game is terrible.
They have 5 possesion in the back half and the ball is till in D 50.
We are going no where playing that CRAP
-
when he started it was wait 4 years now its 2011 what next
Wallace has done an extraordinary job so far. Out list currently is so much better than the one he inherited it is just not funny. And I think that that comment is just a security blanket, and 09 would still be in the back of his mind as the year we become a final force
-
What is the go with Terry Wallace's shirt?
Does he have to be different and not wear the club gear?
What a fu*&ing knob, how about concentrating on the club for once Terry and not yourself.
-

CORRECT!
-
when he coached the bulldogs i hated them cause they were dirty aggressive and hard at it, then he got into media become a nice guy now we are the nice guys on field, we dont have great skill and lack talent so go back and be agressive and hard at it, stuff the media and the oppositions opinions

Mail is the he wanted to stand out on TV when the camera took a shot of the coaches box. ::)

I've always found that amusing. A bit like the sort of guy who has body waxes.
A lot of what he does is over analysis. He should read up on Kennedy and Jeans and keep it simple.
To talk about 2011 is BS.
The emporor has no clothes.
Some of us can't take it any more.
-
Kick-ins and centre clearances really killed us. Wasn't it funny watching Fev kick 2 OOF and then a behind and then he marks straight in front of goal, plays on and hits the post. :lol
Absolute worse thing about the game was having Danny Frawley commentating - had to press the mute button.
-
What I found most disappointing (and there was plenty to be disappointed about) was our skills and decision making. We still have far to many blokes (and I am not talking about the 2-3 year blokes here) that panic when under pressure and as a result turn the ball over.
I mean the number of times we have the ball and pick the wrong option is mind numbing at best #*^&$^@ frustrating at worst :banghead.
Third qtr - Pettifer's by himself and bang it goes straight over his head to a one on one contest - no need for it. Cost us a chance at a goal and the turnover gave them a goal. :banghead :banghead
We stop we start we go side ways, back ways any which ways but forward.
And finally I really don't think we put enough pressure on the opposition - Carlton seemed to be able to move the ball back into the middle corridor with little or no pressure. Some of our blokes don't work hard enough when they don't have the ball.
And can anyone please tell me why Richo didn't get a free on the wing in the 2nd qtr - I though head high contqct was out. McGuane got reported for it but Richo cops not one but to head highs and gets nothing
-
next week its sydney...and our 1st major drubbing of the season is on the cards.
-
Just written a huge post venting my anger then decided to bin it.
its like a F****N scratched record >:( over it.
-
Sounds as though we played alright for 2.5 quarters then ran out of legs. It was 9.12 to 3.4 after that point which accounts for nearly all of the difference in scoring shots. I'm not surprised by news our skills and decision making were crap, nothing new there, but without Simmo and Browny and a number of Tigers underdone against a match-fit match-hardened best 22 Carlton side it was hardly a surprising result. If we cough up 27 point leads in 3 weeks time then I'll be concerned but I'm not writing us off after round 1 based on that result. At least our % is intact after round 1 unlike 2005-6 and it sounds as though we got through with no new injuries.
If we are at least 1-2 by the start of round 4 with Simmo and Browny to comeback then we are still okay.
-
At least we didn't lose by 100 points like we did in Round 1 last year.
-

I think that the thing that killed us in the end was missing Simmo and Browny. We were killed in the ruck because we pretty much had PAtto do all the work by himself, if Simmo was there we would have won the ruck contest. Also we missed Brownys class up forward, i'm sure that if Browny played he would have dragged us over the line

Yep we got smashed in the ruck and centre clearances. Our ruck stocks lack depth. Simmo is injured, Knobel isn't much chop but there's rumours he could be injured again too and Graham isn't ready for AFL footy. It's going to be tougher again this week for Patto up against Everitt and Jolly. As for our midfield, it seems Foley is the only Tiger we can rely on winning a centre clearance. The rest just goes missing far too often.

i saw knobs b4 the game, he looked lost and dejected
