Title: Song remakes that have killed original classic songs
Post by: tiga on April 04, 2007, 04:59:14 PM
To my absolute shock and disgust I just heard on the radio a remake of Pink Floyd's "Another Brick in the Wall Pt II" by
some bozo DJ called Eric Prydz. My ears are still hurting and will probably never recover. How can anyone do this to an all time classic song and not be strung up from the nearest light pole.

This leads me to my question, what song remakes have you heard that have killed a classic tune.

Can we have good ones too, Tiga?

One of my favourite songs was Harry Chapin's Cats In The Cradle.  So when someone does a remake you kind of cringe, but I liked Ugly Kid Joe's version  :thumbsup

Which just happens to be playing on my Myspace site  :rollin

Another one of my favourites is "As" by Stevie Wonder

Not as good, but a different kind of version by George Michael and Mary J Blige

Stephen Kernahan - Stand by your man.

Then again, maybe his version was better.  :-\

The Hoff himself doing Ted Mulry Gang's "jump in my car" with Kitt and All-American hero video clip. It actually made #3 on the UK charts  :gobdrop
