It's Lids 50th this week :clapping.
-
A great chance to mark his 50th by making up for last week. In any case a top effort to play 50 games in two and a bit years after just turning 20 :clapping. Lids must be up there as one of the youngest to do so. How old were Flea and Knighter when they reached 50 games?

:clapping :clapping :clapping Congrats to the Kid.
-
not happy as he does not deserve to play his 50th this week
he has had any easy ride so far, and ppl say krak had an easy run
-
Interesting to see that Lids is now the whipping boy on this board. Richo copped it after the Collingwood game, Tivs and Gas were constantly getting it. How about a little credit where it's due?

I wouldn't call him a whipping boy, but he's not playing well and should come under scrutiny from the selectors this week.

Congrats to the kid. I am sure the boys 50th will better than his 49th.
Heres to another 300 Brett.

he is not myu whipping boy but he will be if he does not lift his game
richo deserved to be whipped, so did gas and tiv.
deledio has had a free ride and is not playing to his full potential and skill. i am just making a pouint that he must lift his work rate, if not, if he thinks he will always have a free ride, trade him off. i want a team full of men who bust their guts for every game and guys who play with passion , no fear and ruthelessness. atm we only have foley and blingers really having a dip

There you go again x for goodness sake learn something, anything about football before you go posting comments about the players ever again. To say Foley and tambling are the only two having a go reinforces what I just said. Please find out a bit more of what is needed in a football team

:clapping Congrats on 50 games Lids! :thumbsup
-
I doubt he'll play in the middle too much this week.
Hopefully his first 50 games were the warm up.

C'mon X, Don't let the guests and newbies get to you. I still think you are way off the mark with Deledio but just don't take things so personally. You are who you are and appear very comfotable with that which is great and I for one enjoy reading your colourful and extremely one sided comments as they create interesting discussion.
When you're reading the taunting replies to your comments just remember, without colour what would we be??
BLACK & WHITE. :chuck
Go Lids!!! Have a cracker 50th this weekend and blow the fuse on the Power!! :thumbsup :thumbsup

dont get me wrong i really do hope lids becomes the best he can be and a dominating afl player, but if he does not lift his work rate, that purely and simply means he does not want to be here , thus we shoudl trade him.
imo, player who really wanna be where they are , try their guts out (eg foley), ones whose heart isnt iniot 100% dont(meyer), and lids surely but slowly leaning towards the meyer scale.
in saying that, lids may change, i hope he has read my posts, maybe its enough to get him so angry and lift a gear or two. control says he knows lids personally, if thats the case, im sure he has passed on what some supporters are saying about him, if lids has any leadership, mental strength and pride, he will come out on saturday and prove us doubters wrong lay a few hard tackles, win some hard ball and inspire us. i hope he does make me eat pie!
and dont worry, these newbies dont get to me, i dont lose sleep over it, if anyone on here knows how to go one on one with bs dribble its me! :lol
btw i also survived a catholic education :lol

Deledio determined to make amends
By Katrina Gill
richmondfc.com.au
RICHMOND supporters were given much-needed hope in the Tigers' final quarter against Port Adelaide on Saturday.
Staring down the barrel of a 58-point deficit at the last change, the Tigers outscored the Power five goals to two in the fourth quarter.
Two of those Tiger goals came from the boot of one of Richmond’s brightest young stars, Brett Deledio.
A disappointed Deledio said the Tigers were driven by the all-too-vivid memory of last week’s loss.
“We didn’t want another effort like we had last week so we really wanted to stay determined and finish off and win the last quarter. We needed to win the first, second and third, too, but I think the boys fought it out,” Deledio told richmondfc.com.au.
During the week, the Richmond coaching staff made it clear they would settle for nothing less than a competitive effort from their troops.
While the Tigers are still chasing their first win, Saturday night’s game was filled with positives.
Despite being outclassed in the ruck, Richmond was able to beat the star-studded Port Adelaide midfield in the clearances.
Skipper Kane Johnson restricted All-Australian Shaun Burgoyne to just 13 touches.
“Obviously Terry (Wallace) was disappointed but he was also reasonably happy we kept at it,” Deledio said.
“We ran and carried well in the first and last quarters. If we can keep that up four quarters, I’m sure we’ll be competitive in the future.”
The Tigers trailed by just 14 points at quarter-time but were punished for some errant kicking in the second term, when Port Adelaide blew the game open, piling on 5.6 to Richmond's seven behinds.
“Port are a really good side and they really ran away with in the second and third quarters,” Deledio said.
“I guess we’ve got a few more things to work on but it’s all a learning curve.”
Richmond’s inaccuracy also gave the Power countless opportunities to rebound quickly from the defensive 50. At the other end of the ground, the Tigers struggled to get any fluent movement and were forced into damage control.
“We had to just hold on to the footy as much as we could when we were kicking backwards but Port were good and pressured us well up the ground.”
After a quiet game against Geelong, Deledio was determined to put in a good showing in week one of the Tiger’s Adelaide road double. In his 50th game, the former No.1 draft pick racked up 22 touches and took a game-high 17 marks. Deledio said his two last-quarter goals were little consolation for the loss.
“I think I was well-beaten prior to the last quarter so I needed something to hang my hat on.
“I was just hoping to get something out of my 50th so it was good to get a couple of goals late in the game. In the last quarter our guys moved the ball forward really well so it made it a lot easier to lead in the forward line.”
The improved-performance should take a bit of heat off at Punt Road, but with the win-loss ledger sliding further in the wrong direction the Tigers can expect another gruelling week.
“There has been a fair bit of scrutiny on our game last week but we’ve tried to stay as positive as possible,” Deledio said.
“I think it’s probably a good thing we got out of Melbourne and played over here this week. We look forward to coming back and playing the Crows on Friday.”
