Title: Local footy
Post by: Bulluss on June 11, 2007, 10:53:10 AM
Just scanning through the local footy results as i do every Monday morning.

In division2 of the Southern league

Springvale Districts have defeated Parkmore 46g 27p 303 to 0g 1p 1

A 302 point smashing.

Interesting that Parkmore kicked their only score in the third qtr, wonder if it was the first score of the day?

Also interesting that Parkmore also have 6 players named in their best, the rest of the team must have been really bad!!!!

For Springvale one person kicked 13 and another 11.

Seen a good game on saturday afternoon.
Essendon district. Strathmore Vs Greenvale with greenvale the winners.
Interesting that ex Coburg players Eric Kuet and Jorgensen play for greenvale.
Big Hakim at Full forward was unstoppable.
Huge crowd there as well. probably 4,000

Wasn't Kuret captain of the Burgers or something?

He was at one stage Bluey, but i think his work commitments took over from his footy.

The only reason he is playing with Greenvale is because he lives there and its close for training etc.

Very handy player, hard at it and never takes a backwards step.

Vinnie Randello is down at Greenvale as well  :thumbsup

Yep Eric Kuret was captain of the burgers in 2005

You're rgiht Bull - once Eric finsihed studying and got a full time job - the hours needed for training at VFL level weren't there, that is he didn't have the time.

Have to say the Burgers tried bloody hard to keep him.

There is also some very good $$ to be made in the local leagues

That'd be total salary for all players right?

Considering you need at least 25 players, that is not much pie among the players

There is a Chad Polak that plays for Marby Park.

Can tell you that Polak's brother played last week for Marby and will play again this week against Taylors Lakes.

Club has flown him over and paid his expenses, he will be coming back later in the season to play two more games and then finals.

Word is that Marby have also got two guys from the SANFL coming over shortly and there may also be an A grade ruckman who isnt too happy and is looking to cross over to Marby also.

I can tell you that there is a lot of disharmony amongst the club. President not too happy with the coach bringing in new players mid-season and dropping players who have been there all year and pre-season. The coach is trying to prepare for A Grade next year, they had better hope they win the flag in B Grade first.

Interesting results from yesterday, Taylors Lakes beat Marby $ Park, and Greenvale proved in A- grade that there win against Strathmore wasnt a fluke by beating them again

Get some good old fashioned rivalry in the Local comps, good fun to watch.

EFL Div 1 this week sees the new cashed up boys on the block Balwyn (3) 9/1 175%
v Vermont (1) 9/1 188 % the established king of the mountain in EFL.
Should be a ball burster of a game, for anyone in the east would be well worth a look.
Harford ex hawks blues also likes a chat with the crowd Iv'e heard  :rollin
Unfortunately I am working.
