Paul Armstrong said Browny won't be playing for Coburg this weekend so to rest him up and at least ensure he's a chance of playing against Melbourne. They won't make their mind up until next week if he will. He wouldn't be able to play Friday week if he played for Coburg on Sunday due to the 5 day break between games.

???
Anyway, would rather Browny have another hitout
-
I just hope that's not spin for further complications...
I'll believe Brown's playing when I see him run out.
-
Surely if Brown was ok he could play a half this week and then back up on the following Friday. ???
-
Why change tact? ??? It's not as though we need him urgently with the year we've had. Sure Browny is keen to get back but until he got through a whole Coburg game I don't see why you rush him back into the pace and intensity of AFL with just 40 and 70mins under his belt at VFL level. The most important thing is he's 100% right and ready for preseason and 2008.

Especially if Simmonds also comes in. That would be two under done players that wouldn't run the majority of the game

Browny returning vs. Melbourne at the G. on a Friday night will be great for publicity....

How on earth could he be right playing 110 mins of footy at VFL level. ::)
Needs to get through 2 entire games at VFL to be anywhere near ready
-
He probably has another hotspot so is unable to play this week but are covering it up by saying he could play the week after when he is no chance. :shh
If he cant play a full VFL game there is no way he could even do a half of AFL. They must be kidding.

Browny needs to get through at least an entire match, before he is fit enough IMHO

Any coincidence if he does comeback and play it'll be on the same day (Friday night) and against the same opponent he broke his leg against.

Brown could return after break

Richmond star Nathan Brown will be rested from the VFL this weekend to keep him fresh for what could be a long-awaited AFL comeback against Melbourne on June 22.
Brown, who has returned from injury through the Coburg reserves and then the Coburg senior side in the past two weeks, is yet to play for Richmond in the 2007 home and away season.
He was withdrawn from the Tigers' side before the opening round because of soreness in the leg he broke in a sickening incident more than two years ago.
But Richmond football manager Paul Armstrong said Brown was hopeful of making his return against the Demons in what would be his first senior match since round 17 last season, more than 10 months ago.
"It's all progressing fine and hopefully by next Thursday night he's got through all the training and then it becomes a selection issue," Armstrong said of Brown's recovery.
He said there had been no further pain as a result of Brown playing two matches in the past fortnight.
But the scheduling of Coburg's match on Sunday against Frankston, only five days before Richmond plays Melbourne, prompted the decision to rest him.
"Given that we're being very careful with the way he's come back and given it's a Sunday game, to ask him to back up would be too much, given the amount of time he's had off and he's had only two games," Armstrong said.
"He wants to make himself available for Friday night so he's trained today and he'll train next week in preparation for playing on Friday night."
Richmond have this weekend off because of the AFL's split round.
