Wallsy seriously has NFI

He has Jesse Smith in his 6 best and the comment was has a good athletic build but yet to dominate a game.

Um, Robert, Lids has brilliant athleticism and has already begun to dominate some games.

Reckon that Wallsy needs to pull his head out of his arse and realise that Richmond do have some talented kids

I was talking to Ned from Y&B at half-time and he mentioned that Walls said on radio prior to the game last night that Richmond only had two good youngsters, Lids and Rainesy IIRC, compared to all the star youngsters  ::) at Hawthorn. These idiots can't tell the difference between 22-26 year olds and 18-20 year olds  :stupid.

The next generation of superstars
Robert Walls | June 23, 2007

Half a dozen 19- and 20-year-olds who could tick off all of the boxes are Carlton's Marc Murphy,
the Pies' Scott Pendlebury,
Geelong's Joel Selwood,
Jesse Smith of the Kangaroos,
Hawk Lance Franklin and exciting young
Bulldog Shaun Higgins.

Wallsy is just a bandwagonist (if that's a word)

With the Hawks up and running he is singing the praises of the Hawthorn kids

Seen a lot of Franklin and Higgins.
Both will be superstars. I really like Higgins alot
Lids should be in the six instead of Smith

totally agreed.

but I find articles like these really frustrating.

Look at Pendlebury, Murphy and Smith, they probably have only played 50 matches collectively but people like Wallsy are already pumping them up as the next Buckley or Hird.

Sure they have a great chance of getting there but it's best to let them develop without the pressure of becoming the next great of the game  :banghead

What these type of articles forget is the support around them has a big baring on how a kid is doing. Murphy this year has improved as a footballer again but without Stevens and Kouta for most of the year beside him in the midfield he now cops most of the attention from the opposition and at times struggles with it. Pendlebury has gone up another gear big time but it helps when Burns, Licuria, O'Bree and the Pies other dual GF players are playing their best footy for a long while. The same goes for Selwood. Bartel, Gary Ablett, Corey, Ling and co will get the opposition coach's attention first.

that is one luxury that hasn't been afforded to Lids. Unfortunately with Cogs going down and for some reason Foley has yet to be tagged I think, Lids has copped a pretty heavy tag most weeks. Was worried that he couldn't cope with the close attention but is slowly learning how to break the shackles  :thumbsup

Cannot wait for 08 to start and with Cogs back hoping for a Lids brownlow  ;)  :cheers

If they made a TV sitcom and called it "Inside Robert's Head" (anyone remember Herman's Head??) It would resemble the current Victoria Park.  :wallywink
