As a paid up Richmond Member, I was wanting to know why a club cap and scarf aren't included in the standard member packs?
Next year, being 100 years of Tigerland, would be good t have a special centenery scarf and club cap
Ideas? :gotigers

We've been around longer than 100 years.
Is this since we've been in the VFL/AFL?
If it is, I'd prefer a centennial cheaper membership package.
That would be novel :thumbsup

If you use the same criteria as the AFL did in 1996 (i.e. ignoring the years lost due to world wars) then this year is our centenary in the VFL/AFL (1908-2007).

Yeah I was surprised they didnt use it as a marketing tool this year but I guess they'll use the 100th anniversary term next year.

You're right Jake. This year is our 100th year in the VFL/AFL. Our actual centenary year was in 1984 with the club formed in 1885.
Welcome to OER jbb. We get a cap each year IIRC once you hit bronze (3 years) onwards.

Yeah I think we've been around since 1860-odd, then in the VFA sometime in the 1880s and then VFL 1908.

IIRC the 1860 version of the RFC died several years later and then the current RFC was formed as MT says in 1885 with little or no link to the previous one, but I could be wrong.

Nah you're right Jake. Established in February 1885.
----------
In 1905 Richmond won the premiership despite being the outcasts of the VFA. In 1906 they were third, and in 1907 had no friends in the VFA. Richmond's habit of playing practice matches against VFL clubs had infuriated the VFA and they issued a ban on such games, which Richmond defied. The VFA did not act on their threat to expel Richmond knowing that Richmond would be accepted immediately into the VFL and the VFA would lose its highest drawing club. On October 22 1907, Richmond applied to join the VFL, and on October 31st, Richmond accepted the VFL's invitation.
