Title: Motorola?
Post by: one-eyed on August 07, 2007, 06:30:29 PM
What the go with Motorola?

Rumours have been circling for a few weeks. I heard again today at training they won't be our sponsors after this year and as a company they are struggling globally.

Worst phone i've ever had.

Alarm decides when and if it wants to go off, text messages turn into jibberish when i try writing them.

My thoughts:

* Smaller than competitors
* Fold away easily
* Battery poor - run out of steam early
* Alarm clocks not going off when they should be
* Poor at sending/receiving messages

Conclusion:

Motorola are perfect for Richmond

Making way for Crazy John?

Well this thread will convince them they should stay on as sponsors lol.

Making way for Crazy John?
Granted he has signage at Punt Rd Oval but will the man ever seriously walk the walk for the RFC though instead of just talk the talk since 2004? I think I shattered the hopes of a supporter at training last week who wants Crazy John as president when I told him Crazy John's sponsors the Bullants and not our affiliate Coburg lol. Someone else there said he heard Ilhan was a Bulldogs supporters. People just don't know where he really stands. Does he have genuine one-eyed passion for the RFC (a la Eddie for Collingwood)?

Report: Nokia increases market share, Motorola stumbles
Chicago Tribune
Bloomberg News
 7:37 AM CDT, August 2, 2007

Motorola has failed to repeat the success of its Razr phone, which three years ago started a trend for ultra-thin models with a metal finish.

The U.S. company on July 19 reported its second straight quarterly loss after shipments slumped by about a third. Motorola's market share fell to 13.8 percent from 22.3 percent a year earlier, falling behind Samsung's 14.5 percent market share, according to Strategy Analytics.

Not the best time for them to completely pull out of all sponsorship for Tiges but I think we can get a decent deal with someone else.  We did with AFG.  :thumbsup

Any further news on what's happening with Motorola?

Vodafone has dumped the Saints and are looking to sponsor another Victorian club.

FWIW the Motorola V6 Next G is the best performed handset in the country in terms of coverage and low failure rate.
