A shame Kent couldn't help out Coburg in the finals. Good luck to him in life after footy.

not really

it was a disgrace he was put on the list and nit used effectively as he was supposed to

as a 3rd player up fwd he could have been decent, with richo and brown  and even petts up there. but they never gave it a chance due to injuries and bad coaching

he could have been good. but stiff crap, he isnt part of the future, but then again, neither is richo

My understanding is that Kingsley was acquired as a fall-back option for a season or two (a la Mark Graham) in case the taller kids we got weren't up to scratch or if Richo went down then we'd have a seasoned body out there to take some heat off the kids.  Thankfully we didn't really need to use him.  Richo's been pretty fit (only missed a game with that eye-socket) and Schulz has been reasonably adequate and we've had Riewoldt and Hughes play a few games ahead of him.

Like everyone else I'd have rather that pick be used on a player with a future but at least we can see the thinking behind it.

Razor has a degenerative hip problem. He won't play again. He's only on the long-term injury list so Gus could be promoted off the rookie list.

Kingsley said it's been a frustrating year. Bowing out due to his ankle injury. Reckoned he was the fittest he ever has been after our preseason.

Kingsley's comments at today's press conference via Sportal

Quote
"It's been a frustrating year and I don’t think I could personally go through it again," Kingsley said.

"There's other things I want to do away from football. I think I've given football everything I had for the 11 years I was involved but … it's now time to have a look at the rest of the world, I think."

The 28-year-old said he's keen to travel with South America the top of his list.

Wallace said the club selected Kingsley in last year's pre-season draft because it felt his experience as a goalkicker would take some of the pressure off Matthew Richardson and Nathan Brown.

"Unfortunately Kent’s season with us was ruined by injury and he’s now decided to bow out of AFL football after a career spanning 125 games and 239 goals. We wish Kent good luck for the future," said Wallace.

You've been a wrap for Ryan for years TM. Was he in the last draft? I can't recall seeing his name.

Kudos to the kid in the #17 Richmond jumper at the footy last night who saw Kent Kingsley sitting next to Jimmy Bartel and walked past right in front of the Brownlow medalist ignoring him to get Kingsley's autograph :rollin. At least one Tiger supporter was a fan of Kingsley lol.

lol, Most kids would probably rather have a poo stain on their jumper than a Kent Kingsely signature. It'd be less offensive.
