Title: Will Jacko be suspended?
Post by: one-eyed on September 01, 2007, 07:52:32 PM
D Jackson (Richmond) reported by field umpire D Goldspink for allegedly engaging in rough conduct against L Montagna (St Kilda) in the second quarter.

Will he be suspended or is he okay?

You've got to be joking. If he get suspended for that then AFL has truly become a non contact sport. Pretty damn soft by the umpire to report him. Well done Jacko.

That was one of the best applied tackles l has seen in years
there was nothing reportable in it
thats how players & kids are taught to grab the player & dump him to the ground its the same being taught on the bags
all that showed yesterday is how well Jackson has developed in strength & skill to apply a perfect tackle & his gunna be a gun tagger in the tigers future cause he can sprint off the mark to grab players with pure strength these days
l hold big raps for his developement

Umpires are advised by cousin Geishien & he needs to pack his bags back down to Maffra & give football away & stay away he is destroying the game cause he was a pooh footballer too & the AFL should stop applying rules to the game & remove some
l mean fair dinkum that was a perfect tackle well done Jacko

result in the report it will be withdrawn

the boys need to learn to tackle like jacko, too often do opposition players just bounce out of our tackles

Didn't see anything untoward by Jacko watching it live and it's even more ridiculous that it was reported seeing the replay  ???.
Title: Jacko reprimanded

Jacko's rough-conduct charge has stood and he can accept a reprimand.

Can accept a reprimand  ::)

The AFL are taking tackling out of the game now.

Even though our season is over and he doesn't get any matches, i'd fight this one, it's ridiculous.

You can bet we won't fight it but what a ridiculous decision  ::). It was worth a free kick but the charge should have thrown out.

I don't get it ??? ??? I've watched the tackle over and over and I can't see anything wrong with it. As far as Jacko knew, Montagna still had the ball and if I recall isn't it the responsibility of a player to prevent his opponent from disposing of the footy??? Next thing you know we'll be playing stuffing netball!!!   CONTACT WING DEFENCE!!!  Gimme a break!!  :banghead :banghead :banghead

I can see the future...Players being reported because their eyeliner hasn't been applied correctly!! :banghead :banghead
At draft camp they'll be throwing out the beep tests and vertical leaps and replacing it with crochet lessons and their ability to recite episodes of Sex and the City and Gilmoure Girls. Recruiters will be taking into account how many Bratz dolls a youngster has as a guide on his potential of becoming a future star of the game.

We'll be having to go back and watch VHS tapes of how footy should be played...tough and hard!!!

The rot all started with John Bloody Nicholls taking that infamous dive at the expense of Nifty Nev!!

It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel crap!!!!!!

If you watch the replay again, you can hear Goldsphincter say:

"testing, testing, am I on? *clears throat* *in his best acting voice* Daniel that was very dangerous blah blah blah. *thumbs up to the cameras*"

That's what it looks like. It was negligent of Jacko to tackle Montagna  :scream ???
