How did we rate Newy's year?
Back from a broken leg, he played in all 22 games and statistically had his best year by far averaging 18.2 disposals (8th best Tiger), 6.3 marks and 2 tackles per game. He's now played 111 matches in total in his 7 years at Punt Rd since debuting in 2002.

Very good.
Done all you could expect after a comeback from a broken leg and if anything improved on his previous seasons.
Also would rate him our second best senior player behind Richo.
8/10

Would make the top 10 in the B&F, so would be a very good effort after the leg.
Still yet to get into the midfield rotations, so some serious work to do on the fitness.

made some blues, especially from kick ins, but fantastic season coming off a broken leg.

MT will tell you he is one of my least fav players :rollin
But excellent comeback from his broken leg, disposal still "iffy" under pressure
Will win something at the B&F ;D
6.5/10

LOL WP.
Before saying anything about Newy to me, WP will always start by saying "MT, I know you're a fan of his but ....." :rollin
I am a fan but still for a guy in his first year back from a broken leg he exceeded all expectations this year. A great effort to finish 8th in the B&F. I'd give him 7/10.

Brian Royal's RFC player review
Chris Newman
For Chris to come back and play 22 games after last year’s horrific broken leg, I think was outstanding. He played some pretty good footy but got tired towards the later part of the season. So we challenged him for the last four games and to his credit he absolutely stepped up for all of them.
