Title: Micky McGuane to become an assistant coach?
Post by: one-eyed on September 22, 2007, 11:24:39 PM
According to SEN just now. They just said it and then continued on with the show.

McGuane coached the Balwyn Tigers this year in the EFL.

Yep. McGuane was at the Saints until Thomas got the boot. He left us because he had only a part-time position with us and the Saints offered a full-time assistant role.

Good coach.

Came down to my local league and coached Burnie to a premiership and didnt hear a bad word about his name unless it was his ruthlessness.

I like him.

Why?

Who cares if he likes a beer & a punt? He's not playing for us. ::)

McGuane has an excellent footy brain and is a proven coach at the lower levels. Players like him and respond to him.
The club was also extremely impressed with Mick when he worked for us thee seasons back.

I'd happily see him back.

Guys, having a yarn to someone at the TAB, and knowing them "quite well", are two completely different things. Can we get over ourselves please.

Im Sure jacko uses Quality Balsamic ...

If you got some nice fresh devil peppers, you stick in the over for 20 minutes ... just with salt and pepper over the top and splashes of olive oil over the peppers... when they get slightly charred ... you pull em out ... splash a whole heap of balsamic over the top and place over fresh bread ... goes good with wine lol.

Has there been any confirmation of McGuane becoming an assistant coach either way?

Are you going to back up your statements with evidence or just take unsubstantiated anonymous potshots in an attempt to muddy someone's character?

Handy if you want to post about trees.  :D

Or, maybe the joke that was published in Corinella years ago (kids page in The Sun).
What's the difference between an egg and a beetroot?
You can beat an egg but you can't beat a root.

Word on the streets is that Mick is the new assistant coach.
Great news if true.
I am a huge fan of his work and think he'll be a great addition.

Can anyone confirm?

The "word' came from a local paper.  :sleep

Funny how 3 days later the mainstream press and RFC still haven't caught up with the news.

Harford, who lives in Hawthorn, replaces Mick McGuane, who accepted a role at AFL club Richmond.

Excellent work fish.
Surprising that the club hasn't announced it officially yet.
Perhaps they will tomorrow along with the new sponsorship.

Well done Mick!!!!! :clapping

Woops! What I'm suggesting might have been missed in the way I worded it.  :)

I'm doubtful that what was reported in that local paper is correct.  ;)

I'll wait until RFC makes an announcement before I believe this one. Good on the local paper if that happens but I don't expect it to.

Good scoop cyc-lops. ;)
Shame I was hopeful that we'd picked up Mick but have since heard a few things which may have swayed us in an alternative direction.

I wonder who we'll get.........?

All the players are back into training next week so you'd think the Club would have someone by then.
