The AFL is considering altering the Gold Coast fixtures if North don't relocate.
Would you agree to Richmond playing home games or in fact any games at Carrara next year?
THE AFL will consider redrawing the 2008 fixture and pulling the Kangaroos out of Gold Coast games should they reject the league's $100 million relocation offer.
The AFL fixture would be altered to put in place games more attractive and saleable to the Gold Coast market.
While Collingwood has put its hand up to step into the Gold Coast market on a part-time basis, next year's fixture would more likely be made up of a variety of clubs playing home games at Carrara.

no way

If they're going to rotate clubs there, like they used to at Waverley, then this year would be a good one to have our turn because we don't play at the Gabba for the second year in a row.
At least our banana bending supporters would get a chance to see the team live.
Compensation for playing there if it was our home game. Lots of it. :)
A good excuse for a week on the Gold Coast too.
I'd prefer to be the away team if we did play there. Wouldn't be too disappointed if one of our Telstra Dome home games was transferred though.
-
Not a chance one game next year and you will be forced to have 4 games there in a few years next thing you know you are a permanent resident up there. IF IT AINT BROKE DO NOT FIX IT. Its all done in a stealthy way. Never ever ever ever. >:(
-
In the scenario reported it's only next year though.
No existing club would be forced to play 4 games there in a few years or become a permanent resident. A 17th club would be formed and based there.

Well seeing for the second year in a row we aren't playing at the Gabba, I would say yes.

No!!

Ripper idea! a half hour drive and I'm there. Anything to boost our bottom line ;)

C'mon - wouldn't you like a weekend up at the Gold Coast? Especially during Melbourne's winter?
-
I am not denying a trip to SE Qld for the weekend would be great but I do not trust the AFL and especially this current regime and the proposed agenda that they may have. Giving in to something small now may reveal something more sinister later. I am not denying that Tiger fans in SE Qld should have an opportunity to see us play but to me giving up a home game to play on the Gold Coast is non negotiable especially with the off field profits we have been announcing in the Wright March era.
-
Surely this is unworkable as all clubs have sent out their membership packs. If we give up a Melbourne-based game even if it's only a away game then will the AFL reimburse the club and every member with a 17 game membership package ???.

No - look I love games in Qld - great time is always had but I wouldn't be giving up a home game.
For a half million I'd think about it ::)
