Round 3
33 T Cartledge Richmond Essendon

:-\
OK selection

Cheap insurance. We were going in too light on and have addressed it without using anything of value.

that's the only real positive as he is already AFL ready body-wise
but at least we didn't recruit richards :lol

Yep. Can play round 1 if Simmonds doesn't come up. If he doesn’t play at all then we're not really suffering, at least Coburg now will have a full ruck complement.

yep, much like Collard who apparently has some mental issues. If they don't work then we can cut them and not be burnt significantly

I would rather Putt and Graham developing in Coburg.
Cartledge Couburg 2's.

it's just that if injuries hit, cartledge is in a better position to slip into an AFL gig than Putt and Graham who need more time to develop physically

Things have come full circle. We just got back the pick (#28, 2002 draft) we used to trade for Justin Blumfield :-\.

Pure insurance policy.
Not expecting much but certainly won't offer less than Knobel.

Yep at least Cartledge should be able to get out on the park and isn't injury-prone. Ronaldson also gets some help in the ruck at Coburg.

From RFC email:
TRISTAN CARTLEDGE: Rookie Draft pick No. 33
Recruited from: North Ballarat/Essendon
Born: 11/6/85
Height: 199cm
Weight: 93kg
Was cut from Essendon's list at the end of 2006 after a four-game career with the Bombers. Spent the '07 season with North Ballarat in the VFL and earned a reputation as one of the competition's best ruckmen. The Tigers see him as ideal back-up for their big-man stocks, given he's had a taste of football at the game's highest level, but is still only relatively young.

was told today that cartedge onle has one big factor holding hom back..................he is super devondale fairy floss SOFT. if he can get tough and angry and find no fear, we will have a winner
-
Super Devondale, ? Now that is soft :lol
-
Cartledge in the ruck with Howat and Tivendale in the guts.
*shudder*

Not at VFL level ;). The VFL is Cam's level while for all the bagging he cops Tivs didn't take his bat and ball and go home when he got dropped and actually earnt his Richmond spot back at Coburg.

he is a woeful kick
his ruckwork and body is much better than gus and putt atm so until those guys develop a bit more cartledge will be ready if simmo or patto go down
im not expecting much from him but it sure beats using polak, tuck or even cleve in the ruck as we saw at times this year :-[

I would rather Polak in the ruck over Cartledge. If we are unlucky enough to have Patto/Simmo go down we might as well develop a rance type in the Polak 3rd back role and play Polak in the middle instead of some fool like Cartledge/Knobel. He is very good around the ground (for a ruckman) and would be a huge assit with his meets floating across CHB/CHF. It's not as if Patto wins many hitouts anyway.
Polaks best game for Freo was in the ruck.
When we have our best 22 on the park - i wouldnt mind Polak get a 5 min run in the middle.
