Injury update
richmondfc.com.au
Mon 9 August, 2004
Kayne Pettifer Jarred knee Test
Greg Stafford Posterior Cruciate 2 weeks
Chris Newman Bruised kidneys 2 weeks
Brad Ottens Cracked tibia Season
Rory Hilton Knee ACL Season
------------------------------
Stafford or Newman look doubtful to play again this year :(.
Probably won't happen as Tuck wasn't named in the best players for Coburg (although TS said he did well) but for me:
In: Tuck, Pettifer
Out: Fiora, Houlihan
I wouldn't mind seeing Raines get a go as well at senior level before the season is out.

Keep an eye out for an injury update on this weeks OTP page ;) ;D
But fair call MT - Staffy is very doubtful for the rest of the season.
Ins: Cogs (subject to his tribunal appearance of course), Raines, Nicholls ;D :thumbsup
Outs: Houlihan, Fiora, Chaffey

I'd completely forgotten about Cogs :bow.
The Billy fan club has spoken ;) ;D

I reckon our mutual mate is living in hope more than anything else MT ;) :thumbsup

Marsh would have to be the first picked this week. Imagine hall against clarke and biglands that is shattering to think. Marsh to come back in after bog and 2 goals in coburg.
In: Marsh Pettifer Raines
Out: Chaffey Newman Houlihan

*om21 drops to his knees, looks to the sky and asks*
What the hell does Tuckerbag have to do to:
A) Get a game;
B) Longer than 10 minutes combined?
*om21 gets up, shakes his head and just walks away*
-
Wouldn’t surprise if AK came into the side.
I don’t know that they’d consider taking Cogs on a road trip, at this stage of the season. Even if it is only to Adelaide.
If Tuck hasn’t been picked on previous performances then I wouldn’t hold my breath on him being selected this week either.
Can’t understand how Blumfield keeps getting a recall when others seem to do more, yet just get ignored.
Houlihan plays well enough at VFL level, but he gets found out in the AFL. Give someone a go who wants to be there and will be there in the future.
The interstate trip would be good experience for Roach, but we probably won’t consider doing anything that would resemble looking long-term.
If Raines is to get a game this year, then probably against Hawthorn would be his best bet.
This is probably as adventurous as we’ll get:
In: Pettifer, AK
Out: Newman (inj), Houlihan

What's the go with Weller?
-
Mail is that Weller was last seen talking to the president of Na Na Goon seeing if he can get a two year contract there next year :rollin
-
Outs . Johnson and Newman.
In Raines and Kellaway

is this your mail oh great one ;D
Looks like Billy misses out again - will keep some people in their trees :shh
-
LOL, good news about Weller.
What's wrong with Johnson?
-
knee !
-
Is Tuckerbag sleeping with Danny's wife or something? He has got to be some sort of chance doesnt he?
-
For me
In: Kellaway Tuck Raines Marsh
Out: Newman Johnson Houlihan Chaffey
-
Ins: Cogs (subject to his tribunal appearance of course)...
On WLF last night, it was reported that Cogs was suspended for one week, by the VFL tribunal. :(
-
Out - Houlihan
PS - That should be permanently

Agreed.
Sad news about Coughlan. Our midfield will get absolutely thumped this week. But I suppose that's normal.
-
Tuckerbag must be some sort of chance this week now that Cogs is out......You would think it being dry that Marsh would play considering we need a ruckman.

One would expect Om but dont "EXPECT" anything from this group of mercenaries.(Spud,Schittain,Heret boy,Cocker-lmaooo@u guys)

Cogs won't play for the remainder of the year. Re-injured his pubic instability.
-
Farkkkkkkk :banghead :banghead :banghead
Hopefully he recovers in time to do a full pre-season. Get him on the Pilates.
-
Put Cogs on the Juice big time until Jan

Just great! :help
At least he's got 11 weeks to fully rest up before pre-season starts although the return of the pubic instability isn't a good sign :(.
-
As a potential 200+ gamer, the club needs to get it Cog's pubic muscle right. Maybe Wallace himself can work on Cog's pubic muscle, as its gonna be integral for our development. ;D

In -Marsh, Tuck, Pettifer, Weller, Kellaway, Blumfield
Out- Johnson (knee) Newman (bruised kidneys) Morrison
B- Zantuck Gaspar Jackson
HB- Tivendale Weller Bowden
C- Hartigan Campbell Hyde
HF- Fiora Schulz Chaffey
F- Hall Richardson Rodan
R- Marsh Krakouer Brown
I/C- Tuck, Blumfield, Pettifer, Houlihan, Moore, Kellaway, Fleming
-
Surely Blumfield and Houlihan won't be included (which means they'll probably make it in ::) ).
My ins would be: Marsh, Tuck, Pettifer and one of Weller/Kellaway as they will be vying for the same role.
-

:banghead :banghead :gobdrop
In Blumfield? Houlihan remains, Morrison gets shafted after 1 game. Tuck's named on the bencg - geez
Fair dinkum :banghead where's the experimenting, where's the "giving everyone a chance" befor the years out
Not happy - if you haven't guessed :scream
-
thats why the ""decision makers "" will be at Centrelink in 3 weeks time.
Where is Billy Nicholls I say ;)
-
So who's going in the ruck?
-
So who's going in the ruck?
Marsh & Hall :-[
-
Think about it WP, we have never experimented, what kids did we blood with PROPER game time in the past 2 seasons (02 and 03)??? We were done from r11 - 13 in both seasons and we never blooded anyone......I wouldnt hold my breath for the last 3 rds.
-
This why I get angry - I was reading the EOTT (sealed) section of the RFC site and it gives a run down on how the RFC players are going at Coburg and this part of what David Flood said about Blumfield's game
from: http://210.50.4.102/rfc/
Justin Blumfield: Did a lot of grunt work for the team – solid competing, second efforts and handballing off the ground – which contributed to some important goals. Showed good leadership skills by organising teammates around stoppages.
Nothing much there IMO....
Then on Andrew Raines:
Andrew Raines: Broke the game open in the second half with his speed and skill through the midfield. Picked up 15 of his 19 possessions after half-time. Generally delivered the ball deep into our forward line. Is playing really good, consistent football. The marking and physical side of his game has improved significantly.
Love that end bit been saying that myself ;D
But why isn't he getting a game? It is worth giving those who are our future a game IMHO
I reckon it is fair for me to say everyone on this board would be rapted to see it :thumbsup
-
was expecting Raines to play >:(
-
Hopefully Blumfield, Houlihan and co. play for Richmond and Tuck remains at Coburg. The kids have a good thing happening at Coburg and it would be fantastic if they could all stick together and win the VFL flag.
Currently we have Tuck, Raines, Roach, Gilmour, and Foley in the reserves and Hartigan, Moore, Jackson and Schulz in the firsts. That's 9 good kids.
I know Schulz and Hartigan are ineligible for the finals but can Moore and Jackson play ?
Like the kangaroos of the 90's, all their gun players came through the U19's together.
Recruit another 6-7 quality kids this year and we are well on our way.
-
But why isn't he getting a game? It is worth giving those who are our future a game IMHO
Spud is coaching :(.
I think he should get at least one game to realise the tempo AFL is played at and what is required to play at that level compared to the VFL. This goes for all our kids. Then over pre-season he'll have a better understanding what he needs to do to play AFL (of course it's going to take more than a single pre-season to get there).
Other than that I'm happy he will be playing finals at Coburg instead of sitting on the bench in a losing Richmond side.
Based on that his only chance to play AFL is next week against the Hawks as the VFL finals start a week earlier than the AFL.

I wandered into training this afternoon.
What an uninspiring deadbeat session it was.
If you could look up" going through the motions" in the dictionary there indeed would be a picture of Richmond training today!
God help us on Sunday.....please..

The interstate trip would be good experience for Roach, but we probably won’t consider doing anything that would resemble looking long-term.
Just to correct myself, and after doing a bit of homework, :P it turns out that Roachy has already played two interstate games, against the Swans and Port.
Good to see they took Andrew Raines for the experience :thumbsup, against Adelaide as WP mentioned in OTP. They could’ve saved themselves the extra airfare though and left someone like Houlihan behind, seeing as he spent less than 40 minutes on the ground.
Hopefully Andrew might get a game this week. Would be good to see. :thumbsup
