We play Geelong in Round 7.
Lets hope the leadership group don't suspend him for the first 6 games. We don't want to go through the results of his comeback game in 07 again this year.

Time for this brat to grow up. He thinks he's Warne and can do whatever, without any backlash. He's a good footballer who has had it easy and has had things covered up. But now he has to be responsible for his actions.
But this is the culture that we are bringing these kids up in so we are all partly to blame. But enough is enough. Stop treating good football kids with kid gloves and make them stand up and take the blame and just maybe it might stop a little or slow down.

3aw reckon Johnson will get suspended by Geelong for another 5 weeks at least. Great timing to make another comeback against us as HT74 said :-\.

Correction from my post in this thread we play the Cats in round 8 on Sat May 17 not round 7 as I have previously posted. We may have dodged a bullet in terms of a comeback game but I am sure he will find form against us as he has done in the last few years. ???

I heard that he was just moving the car to avoid a parking fine.

Cats hoon escapes fine
Herald-Sun | Karen Collier, Jon Ralph, Michael Warner | January 22, 2008 01:37pm

GEELONG premiership star Steve Johnson will do 50 hours of community service but has dodged a club fine or suspension despite driving 128km/h in a 50 zone.

The wayward forward has signed up for 50 hours of  road trauma education with safety body TAC.

He will work with crash victims and their families over two years.

A relieved Johnson today described his speeding as "a bit of a brain fade".

"There's no excuse for it and had I thought about it I wouldn't have done it."

The club defended its refusal to ban the star forward.

Geelong chief Brian Cook admitted talented people were given more chances than average players.

"What he did was wrong, it was ludicrous. He had a brain spasm ... but we're not going to throw him to the wolves because of it," Mr Cook said.

He rejected suggestions Johnson was on his final warning after last year's five-match suspension for public drunkenness.

A brain fade, a brain spasm.... sheesh give me break.

He made a choice, he is only remorseful because he got caught... :wallywink

As for the Cats sends a great message.....  :wallywink :wallywink

They said Otto had been his chaperon last year.

Geelong chief Brian Cook admitted talented people were given more chances than average players.
12 months ago Johnson was a footballer who hadn't delivered on his potential. Easier for a club to suspend that sort of player than a reigning Norm Smith medallist which he is now.
