With the first NAB Cup game less than 2 weeks away (Feb 15), what's your mood/thoughts about the upcoming year?
-
Wait and see for me at this point.
Currently struggling to see where the considerable improvement required to lift us from our current position is going to come from.. :-\
-
I am just glad to have the footy back from a personal viewpoint.
As for us I feel that we cannot be as bad in terms of results/win loss ratio as we were in 2007.
Under Terry we have not won NAB Cup game nor a round 1 game so I am hopeful that we can set that straight this year. Happy to take small steps at first and see where we end up. The ox is slow but the earth is patient. :lol
-
I'm always excited and quietly optimistic at the start of the season, its about halfway through that I start to lose my enthusiasm lol :gotigers
-
Win lose or draw I love watching my Tigers. Even when I am shouting at the TV I wouldn't change it for anything. No other sport or team brings out the emotions like watching Richmond.
I miss it during the season in the week between games. Summer is like torture.
I'm excited! :thumbsup

Easy - 12 months older. Watch and see.
-
And about time to I'm totally over cricket. I will only stuff over to see the score just can't bring myself to sit and watch it anymore. So I have to say I'm excited but dreading the cold weather once more.

Between wait and see and quietly confident. Looking forward to seeing wht Browny does this year if he gets to play all 22 games. It also would be nice for a change to start the year off with a win and build up some confidence in the team and momentum.
-
Just wanting to see some footy
Optimistic about 2008 and seeing the Cubs progressing
-
Looking forward to seeing the boys and some new faces and see how we look.
Allways expect 100% effort from the team when they are on the field no matter what the game is. That said not overly fussed about the NAB cup.
Waiting in anticipation to get out to turd dome soon to see the boys and will probably be a bit more excited on the day.
WHAT I AM REALLY WAITING FOR IS ROUND 1 - WILL BE VERY VERY PUMPED 4 this
Will be a very happy camper (Not delerious, gotta keep things in perspective) or totally over it all in one foul swoop.
BRING IT ON ..... Melbourne Cricket Ground Mar 20 (Thu 6:10pm)
NB - HTF is this a Carlscumtank Home Game - ffukkerz

Excited ...
:)

Against the trend of this thread so far I'm not really giving an eff about the footy this season.
Im sure its a combination of us being ordinary season after season, and the demise of hard contested football due to limp wristed AFL heirachy giving into soccer mums, I'm just not as keen as i once was.
I love going to local footy and I'll always love the game itself, but im totally non fussed about AFL atm.
Im sure when I go to my first game at the G all that will change though.
Not expecting us to be anything better than than 14-16th so will be enjoying any wins that come our way.

Bump.

Looking forward to see how Deledio fairs this year. I have followed Richmond since before primary school, but it was only really 2003 - after a decade or two of seeing my team consistanly be pooh that I started to want to know why. I joined various football boards, looked up the clubs history (the importance of the draft started to dawn on me at this point). I asked my more learned fellow Tigers if we had any young up and comming prospects. After years at the bottom, we could boast the like of Alex Gilmour and Roach, via bad dozen years of drafting, poor coaching/runned club and trading away draft picks.
In 2003 I followed junior football very close as it seemed more like my club would a top two pick.
Deledio in some sectors had some people claiming 'best young since Judd'. This got me rather exicited. His first year was near perfect and with two solid seasons year is going to be intersting. He has all the tools to become our LeBron James type star. THe RFC need Deledio to show he will furfile his potential as a top 5 player in the AFL.
If Lids is spoken about in the some breath during finals as Hodge, Pavlich, J Brown - deadset guns, then the future will be bright for this club. With Cotchin and Foley as his future vice captian duo - there is finally some hope. I do relise he is still 20.
You know my worsedream? I hear Lids does a knee. :P

The RFC rollercoaster of emotions continues :lol.
